  1. That sounds great, well specced for sure and brilliant colour. 17k a year isnt bad. £600ish for 4 decent tyres fitted and you're winning.
  2. Strangely enough I use GSM arena when researching a new phone. I used to sell phones years ago (Carphone Warehouse) and that was the best website by far for comparisons and reviews. Technology and me however have got to the stage of not needing to progress, my S21 is fine for what I need but I always think a new phone with a warranty for the same monthly price Im paying is better than a phone without a warranty.
  3. The problem with reading whilst tired, Doh! What a weird issue to have, I hope OP gets it sorted. Been debating to upgrade to the S22 myself or just holding out for the S23 in a few months.
  4. All good points. 2nd hand prices at the moment are high. Although I have no experience of the 1.5 TSI we bought the wife a 1.2 TSI Seat Leon (mk2 1.2 TSI) and so far its been great. Was always hesistant of smaller turboed engine cars but ours doesnt feel over stressed whilst returning an easy 10mpg in situations over my Octavia VRS TSI. For motorways, its easy to get 45mpg whereas Ill have to be driving for hours to get close to 40mpg out of the VRS. As for comfort, my VRS is pretty good on the motorway but a bit hard around town. I do have 19's, the wifes Seat with 16s is more compliant but I think the suspension is always harder on VAG cars in general than other makes.
  5. Might sound like a daft question, but whats the reason for change? I can get the spec increases (heated seats in the winter pack are heavenly on the tush) and the petrol may be a tad cheaper to run, even the offset with fuel economy drop. Not saying dont do it however. My reason for buying new cars in the past has been mainly due to want instead of necessity or situational.
  6. My S21 works absolutely fine with my 2015 with larger screen (MIB2?) Have you got any additional security software bar the pre-installed stuff? Have you tried all the below on this site? Apparently its a known issue with the S22. https://www.getdroidtips.com/bluetooth-issue-samsung-s22-series/
  7. There is a link to all the how to guides on VCDS on this part of the forum, should be one of the pinned posts above.
  8. I paid someone to activate it through VCDS but OBD11 is another option.
  9. Pretty sure all UK dealers will have access to digital servicing records through the reg/VIN. Mine was serviced at several Skoda dealers and I was given printouts along with the original invoices. I was told the printouts were of the Skoda digital servicing records and as I have the original customer invoices I have no reason to doubt them. I wouldnt worry about it, they should be able to prove any servicing records.
  10. Good looking car! Always liked the primer grey. I also pretty much always buy a new car and say 'its a sensible daily... its fine as it is...' and then proceed to modify it. Whats the other plans for it? How do you like the fabric seats?
  11. My fixed rate is up in September and Im praying that the interest rate comes down a little! Looks well specced, winter pack, black pack, etc. Im not a fan of black cars but looks tidy.
  12. Difficult to know what causes the rises isnt it, continued exposure around Ukraine/Russia, perceived demand, lack of cars on the market, etc. Thats a pretty good interest rate, I was lucky to pick mine up for 3.3% but that was back in May before they started rising any of the interest rates.
  13. Maybe a slump around Christmas? I know the increasing interest rate is going to make it unlikely and harder for people to get loans/finances.
  14. I may be talking out of my rear end, though Im pretty sure my estate has both lines lit. The other option is that only one is lit as a 'tail light' and double light up upon pressing the brake.
  15. From lots of the Facebook posts I read on Octavia user groups (and previous mk6 Golf groups) Maxton are quite fragile and seem to damage easily. There are a few other options out there, Rieger would be my choice.
  16. Is that not the difference between saloon and estate?
  17. Not to sound pessimistic but they probably wont work, alot of these 'error free' bulbs dont really work to stop errors in these modern cars. Maybe a mk4 or mk5 Golf.
  18. Not sure about coding but Id guess they need it as they may be under safety regs due to being a warning light. For other interior lights Kufatec do complete LED units which I want to go for in the boot as they'll be better than bulbs. However, bulbs are a good upgrade.
  19. From memory from my Golf light, there is a panel that is removed/clips down and theres 2 Torx bolts. The other end of the light has 2 hooks which slide into the headliner. Theres definitely Youtube videos for removal.
  20. I dont think interior bulbs suffer the same error faults as alot of outer lights. I used some Halfords bog standard cap LED bulbs, you dont really need the huge multi chip bulbs as itll just become blinding inside. The Halfords ones are cheap, seem reliable and fit well.
  21. I second what Gaz has said. Alot dont seem to like the OEM spec Pirelli but cant go far wrong with Michelin PS4/PS5 or Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5's. But really depends on alot of things including budget. If 19" a common change is to go from 225 to 235 width tyres. Improves comfort and grip a tiny bit, looks better and is a cheaper size.
  22. F*ck a duck! Thats escalated a little bit!! Maybe a second hand one is a cheaper option but I still believe it will go eventually. LED bulbs also help as they draw far less power than regular bulbs.
  23. My 2 pence, its not worth buying a 2nd hand part as itll go the same way. The boards burn out because the rear light also goes through the front light when the door is opened. When I replaced my Golf light (very similar unit) approx 4 years ago it was £65 for a brand new part. Id estimate £85-£90 now if Skoda can supply them and you'll get the right one for the car.
  24. Not quite the same but you can go for facelift gloss climate control panel but you need the surround as well. Looks alot nicer than the stock buttons, especially with the flush screen you have.
