Quiet tyre recommendations?
We bought a Karoq Sportline in April with 19in Vega rims as standard. They were fitted with OEM Bridgestones which picked up every single bump or hole in the road; I was hoping to get used to them but Significant Other was constantly commenting on the ride. Advice on here was to fit smaller wheels but I liked the Vegas so instead fitted Michelin CrossClimates which have been an absolute revelation, chalk and cheese when compared to the Bridgestones. Have had CC on previous cars - Impreza, Forester, Freelander, so in varying sizes - and never had any issues

Think they’re the same diameter but different thickness?

Buying a Karoq 1.5 tsi
We bought a 2020 1.5 dsg Sportline in April (forced by Mayor Khan but that’s another story) to replace a lovely Freelander. Loved that Freelander, but have been very pleased with the Karoq. Went for the Sportline for the panoramic roof. We, particularly Significant Other, had an issue with the OEM 19in wheels which seemed to pick up the slightest bump or pothole. I liked the Vega rims so was reluctant to replace with a smaller sized set-up which was the advice I received from many members on here. Instead I took a chance on replacing the Bridgestones, which needed doing any way, with Michelin CrossClimates and it’s been like a breath of fresh air, totally transformed the ride, even SO’s happy so win-win 👍 Infotainment system has taken some getting used to but this is likely to be a combination of coming out of a 2013 Freelander and ‘old person operative’ issues. Small software issue initially insofar as we had an error message appear every time we hit a bump, saying to seek workshop assistance, which affected the satnav. In the dealers for a day, no issues since. Apart from the wheels and that software issue, been very pleased. And the far better mpg certainly saving us/me some money 😏

Hola
Welcome. Some would say your English is as good as mine and I’ve lived here all my life 😏

New (to us) Karoq
We bought a Sportline in April fitted with 19in Vega rims which I wasn’t over impressed with. I thought I’d get used to them, despite Significant Others constant moaning every time we went over a speed hump or hit the slightest bump or pothole in the road. Despite getting decent advice on here about changing to a smaller wheel size I decided instead to keep the rims but change the OEM Bridgestones for CrossClimates. Absolute revelation, like chalk and cheese. Different ride totally.

Grotty Screen - Superb 3
- Tyresome problem?
Ironically I’ve had Michelin CrossClimates, which are all seasons, on my past three cars and recently fitted them to my Karoq and have never experienced sidewall cracking (ooh er missus 😏)- Infotainment screen not available
Disregard, been out to the car and realise it was, shall we call it, operator error. Significant Other will no doubt get some mileage out of this 😏- Skoda Karoq glovebox pen clip
And even then they’ll try and flog him a compatible pen for £🤬- Infotainment screen not available
Am getting this message on the dash when I’d normally have the compass. Radio, phone, satnav all seem ok. When I switch off the ignition my trip details are shown as usual so generally all looks pretty much normal. However if I go into the infotainment screen there’s a notification there that I’m not connected to wi-fi. My mobile is showing Skoda as being my wi-if connection. Anyone? Probably a setting I need to change?- Skoda Karoq glovebox pen clip
Whole glovebox?? Entire dashboard I reckon 😏- Marshall Skoda, Dartford
Final word on this from me. Having sent a final reminder to Mr BS this morning I got a reply pretty soon after assuring me the Care Team should have emailed and sent hard copies of the documents in the post some time ago. As I’d clearly not received either (quelle surprise) he’d speak to them and and get the stuff sent again. At the same time as he was emailing me, the Care Team sent the details through 😂- Marshall Skoda, Dartford
An update, Mr BS replied saying he’d check with car care(?) to see when the breakdown and warranty documentation was sent to me - well I can tell him that, never, that’s why I was chasing in the first place. He then went on to say booklets are never supplied at point of sale but would get back to me. Save for an apology for their shortcomings, nothing else said. No response to my questions about over-inflating stock vehicle tyres and the fact that no one I’d ever spoken to had heard of this practice. Needless to say, I’ve heard nothing further despite sending him quite a terse reminder. I did suggest it was clear they wouldn’t be sending me any documentation I’d been after but I’d instead download the links provided on this forum whose members obviously weren’t governed by the same data protection rules 😏 Ironically those links (unknown to me at the time) are available on Skodas own site. Perhaps Skoda breakdown cover really is that secret not even their customers should know about it. It’s a shame really that as general manager he’s chosen not to deal with this in a proper manner since I couldn’t speak highly enough of the guy in sales we dealt with. Oh well.- Head unit volume
Am wondering if there’s anything in settings that needs to be adjusted, rather than simply relying on the volume knob?- Head unit volume
I’m surprised, since we couldn’t possibly listen to the media in our Karoq at anything near full blast. Do the settings need adjusting?- Which Karoq DSG?
I don’t think you’ll find any make of car that’s bulletproof; if you did the other makers would be out of business as everyone would be buying theirs. And even the ‘perfect’ cars will have their owners who’ve had issues.- Which Karoq DSG?
Ours is a 2020 plate with levers on the sides which you use to manually adjust the lumbar support. Not really played around with the drivers seat as it’s been ok since we bought it. Significant Other has recently adjusted hers.- Which Karoq DSG?
Yes, the CrossClimates have been an absolute revelation compared to the OEM Bridgestones and what’s more they’ve gained Significant Others approval, so win-win all around 😄 Apart from the far superior ride, they also look more the business, far chunkier than the Bridgestones.- Which Karoq DSG?
Have you driven the 1.5dsg? As far as I can see you’ve only been out in a 1.0 manual. Think you’d notice a huge difference in the overall performance especially if there’s four adults travelling and add to that the extra weight for your luggage if you’re holidaying. The smaller engine would be fine for local stuff but you’d certainly welcome the 1.5 on longer runs.- Which Karoq DSG?
We bought a Karoq Sportline 1.5dsg in April to replace a Freelander, as like you I’ve got dodgy knees and was looking at an SUV to allow for the easier access. The front seats in the Sportline are more ‘fitted’ having moulded sides and lumbar supports as well as high backs (rather than separate headrests) which may not be everyone’s choice although I think they’re very comfortable having had similar seats in an Impreza some years ago. If the car’s going to be driven regularly by more than one driver you might find it a pain having to adjust the seat position manually - a friend had an electric seat fitted when he bought his, £1000! The Sportline also has 19in rims as standard which again aren’t everyone’s choice. We found they gave a very hard ride and on the recommendation of members on here I looked into getting smaller rims. In the end, as I needed to replace the front tyres any way I chose to replace the oem Bridgestones with CrossClimates and the change has been like chalk and cheese. Not even significant other complains now 😉- Software Update...?
Thank you; will go and check when it stops raining 😉- Software Update...?
I had message appear on screen yesterday about software update available. Ok, will run it whilst on my journey, but no, it says I can’t be driving. Been out into the car today but b🤬d if I can find anything about update. Where will it be?- Marshall Skoda, Dartford
Bought our Karoq Sportline here in April and nothing but a good word for James in the showroom. However, beyond that they wouldn’t be top of my recommended list. The car had been transferred in from elsewhere and the small Sportline badge was missing from the steering wheel so James arranged for it to be called back when the part came in. In the meantime a few software errors cropped up which would be dealt with at the same time. A courtesy car had been arranged but come the day no record of it. After scrambling about a Kamiq was found, luckily I could drive a manual. When I picked the car up I spoke to the service desk about how hard the ride was on the 19in rims only to discover later on they’d been over-inflated by about 12psi each wheel. I’ve since been informed by the manager it’s standard Skoda policy to over-inflate tyres of the standing stock to save flat spotting 🤔 And then there’s the issue of the warranty and breakdown. I was told appropriate paperwork, booklets etc would be sent out but two months on, nothing. Contacted James who referred my enquiry to his admin. Nothing. Chased again and told that admin were single-handedly dealing with new vehicle registrations. Still nothing. Eventually I was sent a single sheet with warranty dates on but due to ‘date protection purposes’ I couldn’t be given any info with regard to the breakdown cover. A member on here has since kindly sent links to access both the warranty and breakdown details. How much more convenient would it be to have something handy to keep in the folder with the handbook. Sent in a complaint which the general manager intended to discuss with his after sales manager. All I’ve had since is an apology for the fact the tyres weren’t deflated to the correct psi upon delivery. Nothing said about the other issues. Needless to say I’m back on to him for a response. In summary, I’d more than recommend James in sales but as for the back room team 😥- Hello
No doubt you have, welcome. I had assumed with your comments about being frustrated with your car you were after advice. Apologies - Tyresome problem?
