  1. An Autel is not a VCDS or even an OBD II.
  2. This might seem off the wall, but do you get similar symptoms with the clutch?
  3. Not a recommendation as I've never needed this doing, but most branches of Timpsons will do this for less than a main stealer.
  4. Instant suspicion of a loose electrical connector.
  5. In the first place I wouldn't replace the dampers because they don't control the ride height. What I would do is investigate the rear suspension for broken springs, probably up at the pig ears.
  6. OK, I'm only 4'22", but I've yet to find an SUV (hydrocarbon or Scalextric) that I find easier to get in and out of than a Superb. I can say that a Kia Niro (EV) will not let me sit behind myself comfortably.
  7. Put the parts cannon away! Does the window make mechanical "not playing" noises when you press the switch? If so, I'd suspect the window regulator.
  8. Best shot would be to check whether the Throttle Position Sensor holds a constant position under acceleration.
  9. This will definitely over gear the car, as it increases the rolling radius by over an inch.
  10. In the only expansion I've ever heard of it is "Back To Base", so returning a Skoda to Czechia.
  11. Don't bother wasting your time. Misting is a normal function of dampers.
  12. Maybe not then; when my TPS went, the (diesel) engine went into limp mode but would still get to 40mph.
  13. @L98 Ok, has the car shown a slight hesitancy to pick up out of corners (maybe 1 or 2 s) when going back onto throttle? If so, the throttle position sensor may be failing but not yet gone.
  14. @Thefeliciahacker @D.FYLAKTOS What you have just proved is that Felicia temperature gauges are not truly calibrated. Time to spike this thread maybe?
  15. Ignore; these can vanish by next year ( or sooner; I once had an advisory on fuel tank check straps in Dec year 1 (fail) and not mentioned in Jan year 2 (pass). I probably shouldn't have even seen the fail certificate.
  16. OK- This is more probably engine oil than transmission. All this proves is that you've not lost sufficient oil to activate the idiot light. The oil drips from probably engine, maybe transmission, onto the drip tray and then runs off, so where it appears is irrelevant to where the leak is.
  17. NO! I can tell you that it is a fault that has thrown an EPC code and put the car into limp mode. I'd need fault code(s) to go any further.
  18. Include the "average journocritter" here.
  19. Also @L98 I was going with information from ZF Transmission that you should change ATF about every 4 years or 48_000 miles. I mean what do they know about automatic gearboxes? (other than more than I do)
  20. Pretty sure it's a torque convertor 4 speed auto. My first suspicion is that it's low on ATF, but after 90k miles it needs new fluid. The bad news is that I'm not clear how to drain it and refill it. You will get all the information you need from Erwin.
  21. Never had AA or RAC. OTOH Britannia Rescue have been pretty good. One recovery I'd have liked to be quicker, and one where they achieved a turnout time of "I was still on the phone to the call centre and passed it to the recovery operator". 5 minutes later I was on the way down the road.
  22. As already discussed it'll ride better, and have fewer issues with being jarjared with emissions gear and with LEZ Zones.
  23. Well, the tyres are markedly different sizes. We need to know the full wheel sizes which are literally cast into the insides of the wheels.
  24. @Toggy37 As @nta16 implies, the "Swing" infotainment unit is not a trip computer, and doesn't have a digital speedometer mode. It also doesn't have mean speed or MPG modes.
