  1. Honestly. Another set of tyres, even if both sets of wheels are the same PCD, and they may not be. The 185/60s, on the available information, should not be used on a vehicle capable of over 80MPH.
  2. @tetley 1) 225*0.45 = 101.25 wall height. 2) 185+0.60 = 111.0 wall height. As you've omitted the speed rating of the 16" tyres I can't be certain if they're usable on your car, but they're certainly slightly under radius.
  3. It looks like a standard VAG "locking" nut. If so, any Skoda main stealer should be able to replace the tool for you.
  4. Sorry, the 13" wheels would be 5.0 or 5.5 width and the 14" would be 5.5 or 6.0 width. Based on usual fittings when these were normal fit on most vehicles (say 1970 to early 1990s).
  5. If you're not happy with the aircon, call a mobile service who'll come to you at home or work. Don't waste time and money on a Skoda Main Stealer.
  6. @skoda_cat Well, FWIW "standard" spec would be a 155(/80)R13, 165/70R13 or 185/60R14, probably with an S, T or H speed rating (depending on availability).
  7. And that is the whole of the Zeroth Law of VAG electronics. Have you checked the alternator control wires yet? Likely diagnostic here is if you switch the ignition on and the battery light does not come on.
  8. @cbakon If you press the clutch to the floor and hold the pedal down then select first gear, does the clutch rise and the car start to move off?
  9. Plastics are looking good.
  10. I've never driven a car with one, but that is a very common complaint with "crisp packet avoidance" systems.
  11. So why do you think it improves the driving experience? I do that anyway.
  12. Discussion in Octavia fora suggests that most owners and software engineers consider this a breach of GDPR.
  13. I would agree that its use on a "opt out" basis is a breach of GPDR, even for commercial use vehicles.
  14. The only similar thing I've ever experienced proved to be wear on the accelerator pedal position sensor. If it's the same issue it will keep doing this until the potentiometer track wears through, at which point it will go into limp mode and needs a new throttle pedal assembly.
  15. Sound of industrial size can of worms creaking open.
  16. Literally 10 minutes ago I saw an advert for "used Porsche Tincans" (sic): No prices but finance at 9.9% APR.
  17. Try key locking rather than plip. This should disable the internal volumatic alarm sensors.
  18. That's pretty typical, if you have a good GPS lock on the sat nav.
  19. The people who're going to drain the tank should advise you more comprehensively, but brim it with petrol, and top up with 2 or 3 gallons until you've effectively filled the tank from empty once, then run it to the reserve and refill. Expect some relatively smoky starts until this is complete.
  20. As everyone else, I'd think a visually pink or orange colour (even coolant at 10 years old), absolutely not brown.
  21. It will let you start the engine other than in N or P!!?
  22. @skoda_cat Back when the Favorit et al were "New" cars, typical wheel and tyre sizes were 165(/80)R13 or 175/70R14 or 175/60R14.
  23. Or you could drive slower?
  24. This isn't much of a problem really. Leave the new filter in its box until you've got the old one out and the new one can only get rained on for about a minute. This also isn't necessarily an issue; is this crusty rust or just a rust coloured film on the pipe? My old Octavia had a film on the exhaust from the catalytic converter back for about 15 years without needing replaced.

@MLK-384 As @Lee01 says; It would also help gain attention if you start a new thread for a new topic rather than resurrecting a seemingly random thread that's several years old.
