  1. Look for the top of a trail of crusty white crystals in the suspect area. Unlikely the leak is an a/c fault. Best legal suggestion is to call a mobile a/c service.
  2. Not a UK trim level, but some higher trim levels have left/right split climate control systems.
  3. Stop using the parts cannon and check the wiring to the "faulty sensor" properly.
  4. Easy check, are the current callipers marked "FS III" (280mm) or "DS 3" (288mm or larger)?
  5. Did you actually seal it properly with the "bodge tape"?
  6. You'll be just as dead if crushed by a dog in a carrier as if crushed by a human being.
  7. @VanhireBoys Fair play to you. I've only once had a head gasket blow, and then the Ren No chucked out all its oil. I'd bought it for GB£200 so it really wasn't worth fixing either.
  8. @Batwoman Tell him it's It's your car not his. Save his money for when he does have his own car!
  9. Yet again!! On a cold engine, open the expansion tank and look for 2 metallic prongs descending into the coolant. Using a broad bladed straight screwdriver, crape the visible side of them 2 or 3 times. This should clear the false positive for a year or 3.
  10. OK, start with the alternator control wires. The battery light not illuminating usually means that one or both of them is disconnected or broken.
  11. Which part of the term "estimation" is confusing you?
  12. @Dibble2 As @Alasdair1 implies, it could be the alternator clutch. I suspect something else though, so does the battery light illuminate when you switch the ignition on?
  13. Is one side bulb more likely to blow than the other? If so, then start by stretching the retaining spring on that side slightly (or bending the contactor, depending on type). I've seen this base problem on various makes, just never on a Skoda.
  14. The good news is that I think you've diagnosed the issue correctly. The bad news is that you need a new dip/indicator stalk.
  15. It's only an advisory; ignore it.
  16. A 2003 car is a mk 1 and won't have a Bolero.
  17. That's a reasonable point. I once had a "demo" of a Dacia Logan MPV in which I never even saw the keys, let alone drove the car a whole metre. Still, I was able to establish one point of interest; that I could "sit behind myself" in the car with a comfortable leg and steering position (short term).
  18. Not that I'm aware of. My Octavia (mk1 Elegance TDi) was first registered 23 years ago.
  19. Suitably sized real Terry Jubilee clips are available.
  20. "bought an Aliexpress VCDS" - You have Chinese copy software and not genuine VCDS.
  21. @L98 - That's not how limp mode works on my Octy. The EMS light comes on, and the engine revs at 1_200 irrespective of demand throttle input.
