  1. Do you have wheel trims? If so, take the FPS trim off, and hope a stone falls out. If that doesn't work, at least it's cheap and quick.
  2. No definite ideas, but I'd start by cleaning the oil splashes, and checking rocker and (if applicable) can chain cover bolts are all tight.
  3. "Normal graceful degradation" failure of the fan rheostat.
  4. 1. Don't use bricks instead of coach stands or wood blocks. Bricks can crumble unexpectedly, leaving you supporting half a car on your chest. 2. You may or may not have broken a sensor probably the LH rear. First suggestion is to use a code reader to reset the errors, and see which, if any, recur.
  5. I misread the exploded view; thanks. The point about not replacing the rust shields/stone catchers still applies though I think.
  6. No idea except that dust shields are not compulsory, so you can remove them and nor replace.
  7. @TomerB2025 - I'd agree with @Warrior193 that "sown between the seats may give no view of the sky at all. I have been asked to check GPS accuracy. I would normally use the survey point for an OSGB Trig Point and sometimes get a good Lat/Long, but a sink rate of about 10m/s.
  8. OTOH I once knew a mechanic who noticed this and put an item on the bill "painting fasteners as per originals"
  9. It does exactly what it says on the tin; it sounds a tone when someone sits in the back seat with the engine running and doesn't put their seat belt on.
  10. Try telling human passengers "put your seat belt on or get out and walk!" Dogs will probably accept being belted in after a week or so.
  11. Rebus are not "universally available" in Scotland either.
  12. I'm not sure this is actually the case in law; check with local CAB.
  13. There is Built In Test Equipment (BITE) for doing this, no need to replace sensors as Halfrauds suggested.
  14. Ok then. As others I think it's a failing injector. I'd recommend taking it to a Bosch Diesel or TurnerTune franchise or if you can be bothered from Doncaster strong recommendation of Feather Diesel, whichever's nearer, and tell them the symptoms (smoke, vibration, worse economy?)
  15. That is not how you clean a diesel particulate filter.
  16. OK, is it suffering from a lack of power, or just black smoke? My thoughts on the likely issue depend on this answer.
  17. Given the liberal use of the parts cannon, I'd suggest an Italian tune up next, preferably with a reliable mate in a faster car following you to report on any exhaust smoke (colour and density).
  18. Never go to "Kwik-Krap" (or whatever they're called) for advice ever again.
  19. The basic issue is that for some unstated reason you have decided to use snake oil in your car, never mind that you compounded the issue by using the "wrong sort of snake oil". There are 2 possible ways out of this: Drain the fuel tank and fill with fresh diesel. Brim the tank with diesel every time it will take 2 or 3 gallons until the tank is at least half full of "good diesel" then drive until it reaches the level of the refill light . Rebrim. Either way, put this down to experience and never buy snake oil again.
  20. Ask Motorway for quotes on both, and chop out whichever you get the better price for.
  21. Sort of; I knew someone who had to put a seat belt round his Alsatian when he had a Volvo, and when he changed that for a Granada discovered that the dog now wanted to "clunk click every trip". Of course, that may be a comment on his driving?
  22. Yes, "HDi" is a Citroen/Peugeot badging.
  23. You can actually read the relevant text? Where does that mention "light misting"?
  24. They can write anything they like as an "Advisory" as long as it is factual. For example "Advisory - brake pads 10% worn", which actually means 90% pad life remaining.
  25. Halfrauds will agree to anything if they think it's a "buying signal".
