For car parks i look for spaces where one has reversed in and the car to it's offside has gone nose in. leaving loads of room for me to reverse in the middle of the lines.

I think what @pikpilot is suggesting is that changing the values in the software does not physically remove the ash. Changing the values can be useful to cheat the ecu into doing a regen when it won't because it deems ash levels are too high. The amount of ash does not change that is in the dpf. Lowering the value can trick the system to do a regen and if the regen is succesfully completed. This can kick the can down the road for a bit longer. Eventually the ash will need removing physically or dpf replaced. A dpf is not a cure to diesel being burned inefficiently either, it just catches and stops soot. If a vehicle is doing too frequent re-gens, It's wise to look at the cause not the environmental solution. Before DPFS it was obvious when an engine was struggling the dpfs hide issues.

If the yellow battery lamp comes on with ignition on but no engine running is it not just to warn you that you have the ignition on but no engine running. If it comes on whilst running it would be to warn of a charging problem. What circumstances require the ignition to be on without running the engine. The infotainment should work if you switch it on without the ignition on. 1st click for accessories but no ignition on, after a while a battery message may come on. 2nd click ignition on dashboard lamp cycle to check they work but go off. Left in this position battery lamp to warn ignition on battery being drained unnecessarily. 3rd position operates starter motor Everything I drive warns of ignition in position 2 but no engine started in some way. With vehicles that i have driven with a start button . Pressing start puts ignition on. Applying brake at the same time operates the starter. so Pushing button alone is position 2.
