This may or not be important in the debate about ev fires but it's an observation from my limited ev experience so far. I don't charge whilst asleep i unplug before going to bed. Last night it was colder than this morning. I unplugged the cable at 68% This morning the pre cabin heater had been on for a departure time of 6:35, i believe it comes on half an hour earlier. When i got in the car the GOM reported 70% charged. If I had charged to 100% last night where would that 2% have gone? Is that why we are told to drive off straight away if charging to 100% If this has already been reported i apologise for missing it but at least it confirms it happens.

You are taking yourself down a rabbit hole worrying about 027 and 096 and "size" What matters to the car is Cranking amps and capacity 027 and 096 refer to the actual physical dimensions of the battery "For example, all 027 car batteries have a length of 242mm; a width of 175mm; and a height 190mm, whereas all 065 car batteries have a slightly smaller size with a length of 242mm; a width of 175mm and a height of just 175mm. The size of battery your car needs will depend on several factors, including where its terminals sit and the size of the space available under the bonnet." "An 096 battery is 278mm (L) x 175mm (W) x 190mm (H). Please note: Depending on the brand, there may be a slight 1-3% fluctuation in actual sizes. The manufacturer say 027 because it will fit the tray for certain. They picked Bosch because it meets the specification for the cars power needs. You can fit an 096 if you need more power but don't go for one that has less , from what others have said an 096 fits their tray, hopefully they are secured properly.

The difference between 027 and 096 should be cranking amps cca and capacity ah the 096 are usually higher but there are anomalies The Bosch battery you have is better than some 096 batteries This 096 for example is not as good. Buying the same battery you have ensures it fits the tray and fittings if you opt for a different one you need to check the dimensions not forgetting the height, you don't want it touching the bonnet.

VIn number don't use o for 0 it's a number?

I would normally go for the same one fitted. Unless i had experienced trouble with it.

The Bosch one in the 027 range appears to be one of the highest capacities (63ah) in the group. But there is also an Exide that is higher cca and ah for less money but less warranty Search done for Tayna charge £7.99 delivery

I am relying on @domhnall 's info on youtube and other bloggers at the moment because we hibernate from Sept to April, never seen a 100% figure but at 80% it has said 180mile but currently 170. The number of times a year I travel more than 90 mile from my base place is less than twenty. I am pretty confident though with a 58kw usable battery and up to120kw charging possible. I will never need more than 1hr to recharge the battery when i do. I will not be crying over the faster charger prices. I was aware of what they were before i started. At this point i would not advocate an ev as suitable for all but for some people's needs they are perfect.

My point here was that he shows the slow charging speed at the start and the slow charging speed at the end. The charge can start slow at the beginning to prepare the battery it then ramps up until around 80% when it starts to slow down again to protect the battery. If he left at 80% he could half is charging time and if necessary charge later to 80% using the time he had sat for the extra 20% earlier.

I am very new to the ev life but what i do notice in Macmaster videos is He always seems to get up in the morning needing to charge the car? He always seems to charge to 100%? He always shows the car starting to charge and shows it starting then goes away? He always comes back just before 100% and shows the speed of charge then? From other bloggers this is stated as everything not to do.

It would also make sense to reduce the a/c charging rate to 2kw in the car settings. Taking it below 9amp Continuous 13amp on a norrmal household socket is not recommended.

That is what i am thinking too . From my experience pulling away with a caravan you are seriously feathering the throttle which you don't do in normal driving. Pretty sure the car is "fly by wire" with a tps so if that is faulty it would cause the issue and not be noticed as much without the Caravan.

Does sound like a car problem if this can happen but the "revs drop" when you add throttle. Could be throttle position sensor or a fuel supply problem. Any occurrences of a flat spot in driving or a delayed response to acceleration?
