  1. I use https://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/?search=Electric vehicle&lang=en&searchheadlines=1 EVs – whether fully electric (BEV) or plug-in hybrids (PHEV) – sold worldwide were at 1.35 million in July, of which 0.88 million were in China, where they were up 31 per cent year-on-year, the data showed. PHEVs sold in China in the first seven months of 2024 were up 70 per cent from last year. BYD, China’s and the world’s biggest EV maker, reported in the same period increases of 13 per cent and 44 per cent in its global BEV and PHEV sales, respectively. In Europe, monthly sales were down 7.8 per cent in July, to year-to-date figures in line with 2023. In the seven months to July, they dropped by 12 per cent in Germany, the EU’s biggest EV market. In the United States and Canada, EV sales were up 7.1 per cent in July. https://cyprus-mail.com/2024/08/15/global-electric-vehicle-sales-increase-by-21-per-cent-in-july/
  2. "In short, this is a story with legs and has the potential to spark a global discussion around EV battery transparency. The incident highlights the stark contrast in approaches to battery disclosure across different regions. While it's rare for EV makers in the US to disclose a car's battery brand, the European Union has taken a proactive approach. Last year, the EU approved a mandatory "battery passport" for EVs, set to take effect in 2027." https://www.techspot.com/news/104256-mercedes-benz-ev-fire-south-korea-could-lead.html
  3. "In the case of the vehicle involved in the Incheon accident, batteries made by Farasis Energy have experienced recalls in the United States and China in the past due to fire risks. Lee Ho-geun, an automotive professor at Daeduk University, said, "Given that Farasis batteries have been pointed out for stability issues in the past, I cautiously predict that the cause might be a design or manufacturing defect." Experts advise that to prevent EV fires during heat waves, it is best to avoid using ground-level chargers and to use slow chargers, ensuring that the battery is not charged beyond 90 percent. "By charging only up to 85 percent with a slow charger, you can prevent over 95 percent of EV fires caused by thermal runaway," Lee said." https://en.yna.co.kr/view/AEN20240807001100320
  4. "The affected residents were moved to state-run residential facilities, provided with food and daily necessities. A total of 121 people were relocated as of Friday morning." https://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/news/2024-08-02/business/industry/Mercedes-EV-fire-causes-power-outage-hospitalizations-with-140-cars-damaged/2104634
  5. "A preliminary investigation by the Incheon Fire Department revealed that the fire was detected by the receiver momentarily after the vehicle busted into flames at 6:09 a.m., but the pre-action valve, which controls the sprinkler system, was turned off from the apartment management office. The sprinkler system will not activate despite receiving a fire alarm if the valve is deactivated. 9. 2019 Brochure for singapore shows Whether that applied to EU models, not sure. But it looks similar to an SE spec in the uk because it says Bolero for infotainment.
  10. I would have thought a simple wear detector would be just one wire which detected a return to earth when reached. So two wires suggests one of them is to detect the feature is present? Sensors are usually in the new pads i have not experienced putting sensors from old pads in the new ones
  11. Maybe leave the sensor attached and tape it up then out of the way? The wiring must be getting a reading from the sensor when its intact to let the system know its present which changes when it meets the disc.
  12. If you don't have a data plan for the car, could you not make your phone a wifi hotspot and connect the car to the phone instead of the phone to the car? https://support.apple.com/en-mide/111785
  13. Good news for people wanting a channel for a cable in Bolton. "While installation of this kind would normally require home owners to pay for a £565 street works permit, Bolton Council is waiving the fee for a temporary trial basis. The council said they must be notified of any installation and is urging those wishing to install cabling to use reputable contractors only." https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/24487452.bolton-council-waive-fee-encourage-electric-cars/
  14. I have only ever known the renewal date to change when a car is transferred to another keeper. Except: If you where paying monthly by DD you could change to annual in any month. But there is no option to pay £0 a year monthly
  15. Once you see it you can't unsee it
  16. My local enterprise does not give you the car full and asks you to bring it back with the gauge in the same place as it is on the photograph they take when you pick it up. They have no re-fuelling on site.
  17. Parkers? Enter reg for spec? Not sure how accurate it is https://www.parkers.co.uk/skoda/superb/hatchback-2015/sportline-20-tdi-150ps-5d/specs/
  18. Bolero 2013 handbook https://ownersmanuals.blob.core.windows.net/ownersmanuals/en/Yeti_5L/05-2013/Bolero_CarRadio.pdf It appears your card's capacity is too large. When creating cards for family members I always create one folder and Name it "Mymusic". Then put the folders of "artistname" or "album name" in that folder. I then put one Loose track in the "mymusic" folder. This way you can start any folder individually or use Shuffle on any named folder, or play the loose track and press shuffle to randomly play the whole card.
  19. How is your music arranged on the card?
