I personally would hope the DSG had been serviced at 4 year old and would expect the second service to be due this year, Potentially 8 years without being serviced, look for evidence in it's service history. Not covered by a service plan from what i have read it is classed as Maintenance and an additional cost of between £200/300 Make sure you drive the car before purchase. Blower resistor packs are available on ebay from £8 upwards a genuine Skoda one would be around £80 Pretty simple for a DIY capable person to do it at home if they have some basic tools. Garage rates for labour vary considerably You give no clue to your quoted price or whether the quote was for genuine parts fitted or aftermarket parts. Shouldn't take longer than an hour. All depends on if you think you could do it or how much you value your own time.
