  1. Those considering salary sacrifice for a car need to check out the impact on their pension. The impact varies by pension scheme so some are affected more than others. Those in LGPS based on final salary for example could be paying for that leased car for the rest of their lives if within three years of retirement. https://www.dyfedpensionfund.org.uk/media/1215/dpf-salary-sacrifice-factsheet-english.pdf The sacrifice promoters will say it's negligible but really it's relative. Individuals need to work it out for themselves to see if it's worth it.
  2. If you look at the VIN plate it has 3 or 4 rows of numbers. The first row is for the Gross Vehicle Weight, the Maximum Allowable Mass (MAM) of the vehicle including occupants, fuel and payload. The second row is for the Gross Train Weight, the combined maximum allowable mass of the vehicle and trailer. The third and fourth row is Maximum Axle Loads front and rear respectively. The manufacturer’s recommended maximum towing capacity for Gross Train Weight (second row) minus Gross Vehicle Weight (first row). https://www.trailertrek.co.uk/how-to-check-your-maximum-towing-weight/ If you haven't yet bought the car why not search for a car with a towbar fitted already? Price of fitting one that integrates with the car properly can be quite high.
  3. Is the feature not in the software because some cars in the range have stop/start, the engine could be stopped but ignition still on, leaving a danger that the car will re-start when no-one is there.
  4. The easiest thing to try, that you can undo if it doesn't work. Create two folders. put all audio folders in one. All existing folders in the other (allow time for each folder to move or you can end up with folders showing with tracks missing) If you then put one single track in the music folder outside of your album folders you can press "shuffle folder" whilst playing that track, it should then shuffle all your music. If you press shuffle within an album folder it will only shuffle the album? My music is sorted this way and has worked in different makes and models the way intended. But i have never tried the second folder for audio books. If it doesn't work though it would then be simple to move the audio folder to another card.
  5. Not sure if partitioning is possible but i doubt it. What you could do i think is have two folders One for music and one for audio books Then shuffle the folder instead of the whole card?
  6. I can only go off what i see driving around housing estates between 6:00 and 8:00 in the winter. Cars on drives next to a house, in front of houses and parked on the street.
  7. Companies being able to sell their unused carbon allowance to other companies who want to offset their emissions makes a nonsense of the urgency of reducing carbon emissions
  8. Isn't the leaf in a more sheltered position than the tesla so windchill will have been less?
  9. I had to drive around an ev spinning his rear wheels in the snow on a hill this morning .

  11. Canada is one of the world's top 12 producers of light vehicles. Five global OEMs assemble more than 1.4 million vehicles at their Canadian plants each year: Stellantis, Ford, GM, Honda and Toyota. https://ised-isde.canada.ca/site/canadian-automotive-industry/en
  12. My understanding of your post is that you seem to believe that the cost of insurance is only based upon the value of repairing your car if it has an accident and that people who have EVs should be solely responsible for the fact that their car is more expensive to repair even if they have a non-fault accident. As the overall value of cars on the road increases everyone's insurance costs will rise do you not see that? (ICE is an Internal Combustion Engine. EV is an Electric vehicle.)
  13. You are the one who thinks his insurance should not go up because your car is ICE not me. Your insurance goes up to cover the risk of an accident you may have, you may hit an electric car. Does that make it clearer?
  14. How could it be possible to insure your car against only having accidents with non electric cars?
  15. Drum brakes are thought to be a good idea for EVs because they use so much regenerative braking. Discs get oxidization on them due to lack of use?

  17. You could try reducing the blower speed and using the recirculate cabin air setting to see if that makes a difference.
  18. Think someone is taking the ****
  19. Blowing air through the heater matrix to warm the cabin will reduce the temperature of the coolant, The temp sensor is most often on the return part of the system going back to the radiator so if it was me i would not be worried unless the heater ran cold.
  20. Can the world really manage without fossil fuels for evs without going nuclear?
  21. Thanks Appears to work for previous models but not current ones for me
