  1. Oh I don't dispute you can use it for anything but take a look at the underlying context of your original post on the matter, I was merely staying within that context ;o)
  2. FYI Briish Gas offer half price leccy on Sundays and have done for some time. Eg this weekend NB I have a (minor) Beef with Octopus. I thought "lets see how their prices compare" Nope my Address doesn't show up on a Postcode search. I wouldn't mind but the house has been here for 200 years and there are only 4 properties covered by the Postcode so what ever system theyre using for address lookups is rubbish !!! And yes my address is on Royal Mail, I know its in PAF (Postcode Address Finder) files as used by many providers and I also happen to know (through work) it's in the GB Group Data files . This is the only place I've been too recently that can't seem to find me ;o)
  3. which is nice if you are in the privileged minority who can charge at home ;o)
  4. Lateral Thinking out loud: Are EVs covered by the above in regards to the "motor" , handbrake element obviously is.? Are there definitions in the Act of exactly what a "motor vehicle " is ? Does an EV with the ignition on and not moving have its "motor" running (note the above doesn't state it's an offence to leave the ignition on) ? Note it also states "which is not attended by a person licensed to drive it" rather than stating "which does not have a person licensed to drive it sat behind the steering wheel or other controls" Actually that last thought makes 107 non applicable to the scenario of self driving forward. If you are standing in front of the car and have control of it via an app or keyfob then by definition you are surely "attending it", aren't you? (which is possibly why as @wyx087 states in the EU/UK the distance has been nerfed to a few meters, presumably to comply with things such as 107)
  5. you mean they dont fit the UK Governments' agenda of pushing for Zero Emission Vehicles rather than the EU approach of pushing for an overall reduction in emissions ;o) Personally if I had a PHEV (and this sort of thing may well be my next car in a few years) that could do 40-50 miles(and especially because I am privileged enough to have the ability to home charge) most of my motoring would be as "green" as a BEV but would still give me the ability to do longer journeys on demand and with no charger anxiety (and I personally would be happy with the same MPG on petrol as I get with my current 1.4TSI ACT , I'm not asking for 80mpg on petrol). I'm sure the same holds true for most people. Stating its "not green" is blinkered thinking IMHO.
  6. I had it on my previous car a KIA Ceed. Works exactly as advertised and is effectively a more modern version of adding a secret kill switch. Would I get another? If it was cheaper maybe
  7. why is it unfair? It's still less tax then is imposed overall on petrol & diesel. Why should EV owners pay less tax or get preferential treatment? Perfectly acceptable that Public chargers have VAT added at 20%
  8. 5% on domestic electric 20% on business electric (with some exceptions)
  9. Maybe they should put their mouths over the tail pipes of their own vehicles ;o)
  10. Wash your mouth out, doesn't matter that they (along with REX etc) make more sense but they don't meet the Government mandate of Zero Emissions at the tailpipe ;o)
  11. Meh that's nothing, have you not seen Matt Armstrongs videos on YT ;o)
  12. At first glance the Mk4 doesn't seem to have it (well certainly not on this one)
  13. silly thought (as I dont have a Superb Mk3 Hatch). does your parcel shelf have these clips underneath already? If it does maybe you need to be looking for just a net?
  14. We've spent a fortune over the last couple of years replacing Huawei network devices with Junipers as have Openreach and any one else running a telco network
  15. I've found these pics which are probably not helpful ;o) https://www.parkers.co.uk/skoda/superb/hatchback-2015/used-review/practicality/
  16. wait until your car (ICE or EV or whatever) somes with something like Crowdstrike preinstalled ;o)
  17. finally got around to buying the Travall dog guard setup I've been meaning to get for months so we can split between luggage and room for the beagle in our life when we go away together (makes mental note the sand needs clearing out before anyone comments)
  18. Electrify America was setup by VAG as part of its appeasement process with the US Government following dieselgate but that's a specific VAG thing. Wonder why there was never an Electrify EU network? (or was/is there and I blinked??) Anyways, generally speaking the EU is pushing for reductions in carbon emissions (which includes new vehicles of all engine types) as compared to 2021 figures rather the UK Governments blinkered insistence on Zero Emissions at the tail pipe by <insert latest current date> for all new vehicles sold in the UK
  19. Im guessing the difference is marginal based on the rankings here being identical , both the 1.4 & 1.5 fall into the A category https://www.fleetnews.co.uk/emissions-data/compare-list/15740,17623
  20. One of our local indian takeaways occasionally turns up in a Quattroporte
  21. you sure? According to Parkers the 1.4TSI is/was 121 g/km https://www.parkers.co.uk/skoda/superb/hatchback-2015/14-tsi-(150bhp)-se-5d-dsg/specs/ The 1.5TSi is 141 g/km https://www.parkers.co.uk/skoda/superb/hatchback-2015/se-15-tsi-act-150ps-dsg-auto-(0919-)-5d/specs/
  22. I stand corrected, there are no British car manufacturers ;o)
  23. Hot take alert: Other than a few specialist low volume manufacturers (who are either exempt from the ZEV mandate or have much lower targets to meet) does the UK even have a car manufacturing industry anymore? isn't it more car assembly industry with a number of "Brtish Brands" ? The only truly British car manufacturer that comes to mind is Morgan
  24. You are correct however whilst Europe is focussing on emission reduction by any means the Uk is mad set on making everything zero emission full stop
