  1. Are you a chemical or materials engineer ? On what do you base your claim ?
  2. You may be right, but I would also have a chat with your local bodywork repair shop and your local Skoda dealer. You might get a faster response.
  3. I'm certain you would need to explore the correct avenues before any claim by your CC provider would be accepted. Others may have a different experience
  4. You could tell the dealer you could exercise your rights under CRA2015 and reject the car, but you would rather he took the sensible approach and fixed the washer jet and door handle. Give it to him verbally and by email if need be. He wont fund the cost of the battery, a consumable. Section 75 will not work for you at present.
  5. You won’t get costs returned, but ask the dealer to arrange fixes of the minor issues. Assuming it was a dealer and not a private sale.
  6. Any silicone based lubricant will protect the panoramic roof seals, at considerable less cost than the VW stuff.
  7. Replacing / painting a door, if that’s what happened, would have no relevance to any HPI declaration. It is also unlikely a car would be declared a total loss as a result of a damaged outer sill. Buying a used car can be a minefield, hence the need to be vigilant in pre-purchase examinations.
  8. Buy

The Sportline version of the Karoq offers little, if any, improved performance than other model designations in the range. The Sportline designation is all about how the car looks. If you’re moving to a Karoq from a VRS then performance shouldn’t be a consideration. The Karoq though, is a good choice of SUV.

  10. Ah OK, the arrow points downwards on any car I've replaced the air filter. This indicates the air flows down.
  11. The new replacement filter clearly indicates the air flow direction, to ensure correct fitment.
  12. The lines look too straight to be corrosion. Is it not just the end of the inner sill ?
  13. How do you check online map status/version ?
  14. I changed the virtual dash from the controls on the RH steering wheel on my Karoq.

If the MoT was carried out at a VW/Skoda dealer, then my view is this is an an attempt at upselling you a pair of Shock Absorbers. A few years ago I had my Civic Type R in at a Honda main dealer for a health check. Two rear shockers were advised due to list misting, so they must have a small leak. Took the car to my local Halfords to double check, your shockers are fine I was told. (Made a change from Halfords recommending parts replacement when not required.)
  16. Can you tell me about the specifics of issues/new servicing requirements on cars with the DSG gearbox please.
  17. I had a quote of £399, from a Seat Main Dealer, to fit an aftermarket (Seat) rear camera to a Seat Ateca last year, before I bought the Karoq.
  18. Tyres are 17 years old, is that right ? I think they are long overdue a change. Most guidelines reckon 10 year old tyres mean it’s time they were changed, no matter mileage.
  19. How old are the tyres ?
  20. If you haven’t done the job yet, the information will be in a torque chart, Zeus Book etc. You can also, check existing bolt as a secondary measure.
  21. OEM 57A093860A has been superseded by 57A093860C. You would also require the centre plastic screw support, if you don’t have a full size spare wheel.
  22. I wouldn’t worry about a 10-13 year old car having 3 owners. At that age and value, I can’t see it being an issue. As Paws4Thot has said, condition and service history would be the important issues.
  23. I got the full spec for my 2024 Sportline from the Digital Certificate obtained on My ŠKODA App.
