You could try electrical tape and then cloth tape, so it is better protected than just the cloth tape

Car went into Skoda today for them to look at this. The tech said will try a firmware update, was told when collecting the car that it will be replaced under warranty but they just have to do the paperwork, came back to the car to find it on the Boost screen which this car shouldn’t have haha

The Alcantara side and top items for the gear knob have arrived, just got to wait for the Alcantara gaiter to arrive But I am happy how the colour matches the steering wheel.

I think the clay bar and polishing afterwards has made the most difference. Was lucky last month with one day of sunshine and got to work haha

Thanks new springs and bump stops ordered as well now, this is costing a lot more than I had wanted but I am sure it’s all going to be worth it

I have just coated mine in Fusso 12 month Wax, have to say it’s pretty good so far. I did the whole, wash, iron fall out, clay bar and polish before applying the wax. Doing detailing on the side it’s worth the money over a ceramic but time will tell

Anyone replaced the springs at the same time as doing the shocks?

The Bilt Hamber stuff is very good in general with their wheel cleaner being amazing for really dirty wheels

Are you wanting a leather gaiter? I got the Alcantara one from Kolour Koncepts A friend of mine has a TCR so he measured the gaiter of his, the Superb is smaller so have taken a chance on it all. The gaiter that came off this Mk7 gear know was brand new if you are interested

Some of the parts have arrived, gotten a new MK7 shifter knob and leather gaiter, so have removed them from each other now. Just waiting on the gaiter and gear know insert, but now I am wondering about changing the sides of the gear knob like you have done @JR RS but for the Mk7 shifter knob

I haven't bought a 2m USB C cable for this, just using the shorter one that I use at the front ash tray. You open the ash tray as normal and then at the top push in (does take a little force) and it drops down and some out from the bottom, the right side pops upwards at the bottom with the left side retains so when putting back put the left side in first.

Only removed the ash tray and then used a brake cable outer off a bike to help route it, a little fiddly but got there.

What the unit looks like with it all connected, USB socket, step down and connection to the car.

Been able to this today, thanks to @Binx1310 about the wiring etc. Able to use the tail from the socket I picked up off ebay and use the step down to connect to this and then the other end to USB socket that I had installed last year. Just had to route it in the car but wasn't too bad using a bit of cable to route from the back of the ash tray up to the inner of the arm rest.
