I don't use travel or lane assist since I find that lane assist in particular is quite violent in 'tugging' the steering where the system detects a variation in lane keeping. In fact and in law I, as the driver, am solely responsible for maintaining the car in a safe condition, presenting no hazard to other road users. In the event of an accident I doubt whether a law court would accept my plea "the car did it, not me Guv", euro mandated or not.

My car was first registered in March 2025 and has covered 8500 miles. On locking the car I've noticed recently that the drivers door mirror squeaks quite loudly when folding. My problem is where to apply lubricating grease, and what type of grease to use. Can anyone assist me please ?

I confess that all 5 of my previous Kodiaqs were AWD but I only realised recently that AWD is actually a bit of a misnomer. Drive to the rear axle is only engaged when the road surface requires it - mud, very wet road surface etc. The Haldex unit controls this engagement. In normal road conditions the car is driven by the front wheels only thus saving fuel. I accept that I may be in the minority here so I'd love to hear from others who were similarly misguided.

There is one other setting - drive mode - which always resets to normal. I drive most of the time in eco mode for fuel saving reasons, using coasting wherever possible. This is not NCAP related so I fail to see why this setting cannot be 'held' until I choose a different setting. Just another thing I have to adjust before driving - irritating.

The 7 seater OEM boot liner only covers the floor.

So, the problem affects some Gen 2 Kodiaqs but by no means all of them. The casual bystander would surely observe that since not all cars with DCC+ are affected it cannot be a chacteristic of the car and most certainly not "as designed". Is it worth a visit to a different dealership to report the problem but mention none of the "characteristic" nonsense, and at the same time ask if any of their customers has reported a similar issue?

There is no way this is a 'characteristic'. That dealer bull**** nonsense is code for "we haven't got a clue what is causing it, but we can't tell the customer that".

Hi Gary2112 One thing occurs to me that may help your decision making process. The Kodiaq Scout was offered with DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) only as an option. Obviously I don't know if you had that feature on yours. DCC is standard on all Sportline and L&K models. I have had three Kodiaqs with DCC and it makes a tremendous difference to roadholding and basic handling. If your driving is sometimes 'enthousiastic' put the Sportline in Sport mode, use the flappy paddles to change gear, get yourself on a good B road and drive it like you stole it !! Enjoy

So the car is the best part of 9 years old. Have you completely discounted the possibility that the TPMS sensor is failing/faulty, possibly due to a weak lithium battery inside the sensor ? These batteries have a typical lifespan of 5 - 10 years. If the sensor is at fault you would be well advised to replace all four sensors for obvious reasons.

AFAIK travel assist only works when you have engaged adaptive cruise control. If you haven't engaged ACC, travel assist doesn't engage.

I don't wish to dampen your enthusiasm but over bright rear lights are a contravention of the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989 in the UK. I'm not sure of the legal position in India - perhaps you should check this ?

I take it your car is pre 2024. From that date onwards the Sportline model had 20" wheels as standard.

Can I assume that your car is either an iV or PHEV ?

Let's not get carried away over this one case. Yes it perhaps does set a precedent for AEB faults but this case (BabyDog's) is settled - there is nothing for a Scottish Court to review. Given that Briskoda has a wide following I've not seen a flood of complaints remotely similar to the case in point.

Hi DaveSuperb. Assuming you have the DSG twin wet clutch gearbox, there a documented way to 're-learn' it on YouTube which is a bit convoluted but seems to work. Apparently it resets the gearbox to factory specification and removes your 'learned' settings.

I really wonder why BabyDog chose the car in the first place. Did he/she not take it for an extended test drive ?

Many thanks for your helpful post. I'll have a look where you suggest but I doubt whether I'll change anything. I like is just as it is and I suspect that it's on the factory setting. OK Buaan, I've had look where you suggested and mine shows engage/turn on drivers heat heating according to ambient temperature. Both seat and steering wheel temps are set to level 3. Given that I didn't know about this setting until your post, and obviously haven't adjusted anything, I'm assuming that mine is indeed the factory setting.

I agree with Evolution in some respects. I do a fair bit of city driving, always in Eco mode and coast where I can. I have the 2 litre diesel and my average over the last 6 months is 39 mpg. There's something seriously amiss with Tom-Kodiaq's car. It's curious that he doesn't mention getting the car back to the dealership for investigation.

I don't really mean to nit pick but your initial response of 31/3/26 was to lay the blame on a "Central European Manufacturer" being unable to engineer a solution for a problem which must occur everywhere in Europe, every single year. In effect engineer a solution for regularly varying climatic conditions. Perhaps you were simply attempting irony ?

What temperatures are you talking about ? A light application of lithium grease would solve these freeze-ups completely. FYI lithium grease is effective to -18C.
