17 inch is a bit tight for a petrol VRS which has bigger front brakes, it will fit but might clash with the balance weights 18 inch would be better with 225-45-18 tyres.

Switching off Electrical Defaults
David Heavey replied to JohnCavill's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
The Lane assist is two thumb presses on the Steering wheel. The stop start press the Set button and then the stop start icon, it take 2 seconds in total and can be done without looking once you get used to it. If you have Modes then setting this up for you choices then press Mode then the individual icon, and takes 1 second. Good luck. -

You have to turn it on in the infotainment. Just go in and look for the tick box. -

17 is very tight on the front and might knock off the balance weights. 18 is better -
The con Is that if you don't spec it you are crazy it is that good.

The PS 4 is the forerunner of the PS 5 not the PS 4S which will be replaced by the PS s 5. The PS 4S is a much better performance tyre with excellent grip in all conditions but not the most dynamic feeling. Have a look at Tyre Reviews on Youtube

TPMS Direct or Indirect
David Heavey replied to David Heavey's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
I finally got some sense from the main dealer and the answer is no Skoda do not fit sensors in the wheels but only use the the ABS to sense tyre diameter. Good news. -
I have this morning spoken with a the local Skoda Dealer and they say they have no news of replacement Engine cover and they do not expect a new one to arrive any time soon.

Anyone actually happy with their MK4? 😂

Yep that is about right, -
I have a 2022 VRS Octavia fitted with 19 inch Wheels and 225-40-19 Summer Tyres and I am proposing to fit it with 18 inch Wheels and 225-45-19 Winter Tyres. The question I have is do these vehicles have direct battery powered sensors within the wheels or do they rely on the ABS indirect system. A tyre Dealer has told me they are ABS driven. The main Skoda Dealer seems confused and reluctant to answer. The Tyre Valves look to be standard. I cannot read any codes from the Valves with my Autel MaxiPad programmer which works well on my Ford. Does anyone know the real situation. Any help would be appreciated before I commit to new Wheels and Tyres for Winter driving. Thanks

Octavia VRS 2.0 245 Steaming Engine
David Heavey replied to Jamster330's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk IV (2020 > )
It could be the headlight washer over spray you are seeing. This occurs the first time you use the windscreen washers and then every 10th (I think) after. -
My car has been delivered after a year and two days and is excellent so far. The Car is not fitted with an Engine cover and the story is that there is a problem with the design and a new will be issued and due course whatever that means. Does anyone have the same experience or know any more about this situation. Thanks

Ordered in July 2021 and yes I was told that it went into manufacture mid February.
-
My Octavia VRS Estate petrol ordered July 2021. I am told today that it is complete and I should see it in the UK in about 4 weeks. So good news there is hope
-
Same for me.
-
Thanks. Not good but at least I don't think that the might of Skoda is only picking on me.

My car Octavia VRS, Estate, petrol, manual Gear box plus Chassis control, rear Camera was reportedly built Middle February and is awaiting Chips, and three months later no one can tell me when it will be completed. I have even had a personal conversation from the Dealers Managing Director tearing his hair out because he can give no information. No nice salesy chat just an honest straight we don't know. Dealer has been very good with communications throughout. The Vehicle was ordered July 2021 and who knows when will arrive. People seem to be talking about Model 2023 so that will be post September. Is anyone doing better for a July 2021 order?
-
Model year 2023 is built after September 2022.
-
My story is exactly the same for a petrol manual hrs

Many thanks I will have a go. Chaos seems to be the way.

My Dealer tells me that with my order number I can get an update of the progress of my order. However, I can find no way to ask the questions on Skoda.co.uk. Any ideas? Thanks

Rear Damper mounts please help
David Heavey replied to David Heavey's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thank you all for you kind suggestions and I will work on them. The original design is such a scruffy bit of engineering I though there might be a standard solution. If all else fails i will take the hole through the bulk head using a longer bolt and put a nut on. My thanks again for your efforts and for coming back so quickley. -
The upper body mounting for the Octavia 2 rear Dampers comprise 2 x 8mm threaded holes . See picture I have stripped one and the other feels on it's way out. Does anyone know of a solution for repairing this? Please help
