  1. The covering on one of mine has gone really soft and sticky - almost like chewing gum - exacerbated by the hot weather. I'm looking at the possibility of making a fabric cover for it, one that wraps around a bit like the pads that you can get for seat belts. Maybe I'll use some felt? A bit of trial and error required I think. Drefaldwyn
  2. Perhaps a spray of ACF50 might be a good idea? https://www.amazon.co.uk/ACF-50-Motorcycle-Automotive-Metal-Anti-Corrosion/dp/B0761TV16Y Drefaldwyn.
  3. I don't know much at all about the 3.6 but it seems that it's often a simple sensor fault rather than a more serious component failure that causes the warning lights to appear. Just my random thoughts. Hope you get home safely. Drefaldwyn
  4. Quite simply it should comply with VW Spec 507.00. Drefaldwyn
  5. Walk away then. There's lots of excellent independent VAG specialists around in the East Midlands. Drefaldwyn
  6. This might help:- https://paulroberts69.wordpress.com/2015/10/01/upgrading-firmware-and-maps-on-vw-rns-510-satnav/ Drefaldwyn
  7. Might be worth contacting Forum member "Rustynuts" - he a very knowledgeable on such matters. Drefaldwyn
  8. Perhaps a visit to a good 4 wheel alignment centre would be a start? Hope everything is found to be OK. Drefaldwyn
  9. Make sure that the timing belt has been changed - should be done very 4 years on that model so might be getting ready for another one. Drefaldwyn
  10. I'd guess that it's time for a new battery. 5 years is pretty good for one on a Superb. Drefaldwyn
  11. I imagine that it would only be an arm and a leg. Drefaldwyn
  12. Assuming that you have Xenons it could be one of these issues (or both?):- I had a similar problem late last year - turned out to water damage to the sensor module. Hope that helps. Drefaldwyn
  13. I would suggest that you have the oil/filter changed every 10,000 miles using VAG approved filter and VW507.00 oil. Drefaldwyn
  14. It appears that these people are Shark Performance agents:- http://www.mchapman-autos.co.uk/ Might be worth giving them a call. Drefaldwyn
  15. I've had 2 Octavias and 1 Superb. I feel that the cargo space in the Octavia is larger than in the Superb but overall I prefer the Superb for its interior space. It suits my purposes. Downside - the Superb Elegance has too many gadgets to go wrong (YES! they do!!). Cost of ownership is much more than for the Octavias. I accept that I'm not comparing "like for like" as my Octys were mid-range models and the Superb is nearer to top of the range but I'm only expressing my own views. Happy Christmas, Drefaldwyn
  16. Neat trick eh? 8mm on brake pads.... there's not much more than that when new! Hope they didn't emissions 'fix' it too. Drefaldwyn
  17. Yes. They can roll back the fix. Several forum members have had their cars unfixed. Drefaldwyn
