  1. I collected a Skoda Karoq from DM Keith Skoda in Leeds today. My original order arrived in December, unfortunately when they removed the protective covering during the PDI, they discovered that the roof was scratched . The dealership couldn't have been more helpful. A loan car was delivered to me by 0800 the day following the discovery of the paintwork damage. A new car was ordered. They fitted a Nextbase dashcam cable and also filled it with petrol upon collection. A hardcopy brochure had also been thoughtfully printed off. The staff were extremely polite and helpful throughout the whole process.
  2. Is that camber related damage?
  3. Some Karoqs are being advertised on Auto trader as Edition models but are clearly not.
  4. @wyckaie it could be a failing module on the headlight I had the same issue on My MkIII.
  5. Maybe with a RS4 but the Superb just seemed to go even in launch mode. It had a comparatively modest amount of torque and decent grip or maybe I just didn't try hard enough. My 245 PP Golf was also dreadful and was one of the reasons why I bought the Superb.
  6. Go back to AWD. Octavias just can't put the power down effectively from a standing start even with bone dry roads. My MkIII stage 1 with Goodyear Eagle F1 was best when feeding in the power to get it rolling then into 2nd where the extra bhp/torque allowed it to catch most cars. conversely my staid-looking Superb 272 L&K zipped away from the lights cleanly with no tramping or wheelspin.
  7. My 2019 Superb did this intermittently on initial start up from about 3 years old. It was ok when I moved it on 12 months later. I had no faith that it would be covered by the extended warranty under the wear and tear VWFS get out of jail clause.
  8. If a 2.5 hour journey home hasn't done the trick and you're worried, buy a £12.99 battery charger from Lidl. Your car has been started several times for very short journeys and stood at the docks etc but should be fine. If not it should be replaced if it fails in the short term.
  9. I think the Columbus also gives warning of traffic approaching behind from the side, at least that's what available pictures have shown.
  10. I will put a photo up. I only wanted to have heated screen and ACC, which my phoenix orange Sportline was lacking. It had 18" wheels so I am hoping the ride on 19" is ok, I am not sure if DCC will make it better. Apart from ventilated seats, it's got the same extras as my previous Superb L&K.
  11. It's at the dealers with a minor scratch on the roof, hopefully I will have it soon.
  12. I am awaiting the delayed delivery of a 1.5 TSI Sportline Edition and have been given a loan car in the form of a Seat Ateca 1.5 TSI DSG SE. I have to say 2 aspects have impressed me. It is absolutely rock solid, no rattles whatsoever from the dash or interior. I lifted the bonnet to check the engine as I thought it may be a 2.0 as even in normal mode the throttle response and pick up is immediate. Even driving it gently I can't get it near the economy of the Karoq. Before anybody replies, I am driving it in the same manner as my Skoda. It's definitely not linked to the 'Fastest car in the world is a hire car' syndrome. Seating and suspension are firmer than the standard Karoq Sportline. The ICE sounds ok but menus not as simple and well laid out as the Karoq's imho. DM Keith had some new loaded Experience Lux models at £27K which is a good deal.
  13. It will be. I found that the aerodynamic covers were easy to clean and protect the wheel paint well
  14. The FWD Karoq is easy to spin the wheels in damp cold conditions. The DSG box should give you smooth changes. I would leave the service for now if the car has low mileage and appears to be in good condition
  15. The details are sparse. Are you saying it is a manual with clutch slip or wheel tramp when pulling away suddenly? Service interval is found under infotainment menu vehicle settings. If you are a mechanic with access to ramps etc, you can either obviously do this now and give yourself peace of mind even if the next service isn't due. Fresh oil every 10000 miles of 12 months is better than squeezing every last mile out of it I think. My dad's 1st service is supposedly not due until 19000 miles, which seems like false economy..were,I to keep it. .
  16. It sounds a great car from your description. A MkII VRS was my first Skoda and I felt it offered amazing bang for buck in 2008, solidly built, quick and smooth.
  17. Yes , just seems oddly generous. Skoda along with other manufacturers sometimes loads a model to boost sales of an outgoing model.
  18. I wonder why the Karoq Edition Sportline 1.5 only costs £200 more but appears to have some good extras. (Not sure DCC is necessary, I thought was ok on the Superb at times) Trying to boost sales or is a new model coming?
  19. Is the recent drop in economy related to colder weather, or perhaps more traffic - delays- rather than new spark plugs?
  20. Leaking rims on alloys are common on older cars...yours is 10 years old so it's very likely. I have had them refinished several years ago on my wife's older Sirion and they've held pressure perfectly since.
  21. @davidbird here's the link red tensioner problems. The car you're looking at sounds very good. They are solidly built and great value for money, I kept my VRS MkII for a long time. none of my TSI engine-ed cars have used oil between 10,000 mile annual services.
  22. As long as it has been started and moved regularly it should be fine, however the low mileage suggests it hasn't. If you are thinking of buying it, I would have a good look around and a test drive. Check it's not damp inside the vehicle. Bearing in mind it is a 15 yr old car, check electrics incl. Air con works. Check for leaks from seals, dried rubbers, blocked windscreen washer fluid/jets, braking and fuel system, rusted brake discs, sticking handbrake, cracked tyres etc. Upon purchase change all belts, fluids and filters, wiper blades and tyres and probably some bushes which will be dry cracked or worn. The MKII TSI engines had some serious cam chain tensioner problems, so ask if it has had a replacement.
  23. I think this problem is not linked to similar cracked sunroof surrounds. Essentially once Skoda have sold you the car, it's a long long process to get help even with intervention of Skoda UK. I gave up even with a 2 yr warranty extension and sold my Superb. Life's too short.
