  1. Well done. Are the rear drain holes at each corner and are they visible? From what you have described it seems you can only access them from the inner wheel arch or by removing the headlining.
  2. @NickG93 Utter tosh! My Superb hatchback sunroof creaked occasionally and for good measure cracked the sunroof surround, which was replaced under warranty. I used rubber cleaner etc but it still creaked. It's probably the roof lining and there are a few suggested fixes on this site if you do a search. I think the fixes included inserting padding or unclipping the roof lining from a retaining stud. For reference I now have a Karoq Sportline with a full length sunroof, which does not creak no matter how rough the road surface or exterior temperature.
  3. It's "standard practice" and seems another way of squeezing money from you. This known error is on the display. Even if you go in with a live VCDS or OBD II display it will be ignored. The All in One is good to a point, however I found the dealer wanted not to fix a known obvious problem even when pointed out twice. The irony is that it's a VWFS product and shouldn't cost the dealership a penny . I.e. The dealer should protect you and not VWFS.
  4. Good luck, just the mirror glass cost my insurance company £435
  5. Unless it's an error which can be reset by OBD, that is probably the electric struts failing, which are not cheap to replace.
  6. It seems slow but it evens out, keeping up with traffic is best practice and looking ahead, anticipating slowing traffic, lifting off and smooth acceleration all helps and makes the journey a bit more interesting. Even if I drive quickly the mpg is still amazing compared to the cars I drove in the 80's. Given heavy traffic on most routes, if I want more engaging motoring, I leave the car on the drive and take my Kawasaki out through the Lincolnshire Wolds up to the coast.
  7. I am impressed by how effortlessly these little engines produce mid-50 Mpg economy in the summer. Lincolnshire to Devon on a mix of Mway and A roads around the speed limits and admittedly with no major delays produced 60 MPG indicated (Not accurate I know but a reasonable indicator). It seems to prefer sitting around 60 mph for good mileage. My friend is irritated that his very nice new race blue Fabia Monte Carlo 1.0 DSG has slightly worse MPG than his Mk4 Octavia 1.5 SE on his regular routes.
  8. I replaced this on my Superb. It will probably be a similar procedure. Pull the A pillar trim downwards slightly and simultaneously slip a trim remover or similar such as a plastic lever under the edge of the trim and gently ease it away from the pillar. It will probably be held on by 3-4 metal clips. Once one clip releases the others will then pop out. The ticket holder was retained by a single bolt.
  9. I thought the TS I was bulletproof now...unless it's been thrashed or not serviced. Is the garage a Skoda dealer or a VAG specialist. Presumably they worked through it systematically, discounting air leaks, fuel or plugs/ leads / coil packs. Please report back after a few miles to see if the de-coked ports have eliminated the fault.
  10. Besides the scratches on the seat base did you get your desired Karoq model at the top middle or bottom of your price range? Ie with all the extras etc. If it was cheaper perhaps the dealer's profit margin was so narrow due to pricing. Otherwise you may have declined the deal. I wonder if dealers have an internal customer rating index...I.e. Don't sell to so and so, it's not worth the hassle.
  11. Rather than pressure you, you are a possible sales lead, so the salesperson is trying to get your details, make commission, hit a monthly sales target and keep the dealership sales manager off their back. In contrast some dealerships don't respond to queries in a timely manner and lose potential customers. You won't be face-face so you can simply say no and end the call if the response or deal offered doesn't suit you.
  12. There don't seem to be any stonechip dents, so maybe a bad respray. Can GardX protect from stone chips? Or is it another profit booster for the dealership? In Lincolnshire the county council is infamous for the amount of chippings - laughably called surface dressing - it dumps each year, temporarily disguising and hiding the potholes it should actually repair. All my Skodas, and other cars have suffered from road rash and stone chips have required 3 replacement windscreens. I hope you get a good response from the dealer....but suspect you may have to be determined and persistent.
  13. I think the 1.5 TSI Karoq DSG is great for relaxed economic motoring. My current avg is 51 Mpg on my 10 mile commute and around 55-60 Mpg on A road and motorway journey keeping up with free-flowing traffic. Generally it's a very smooth and quiet motor but a bit raucous when kicking-down under full acceleration. I find it's much safer and smoother to use the steering wheel paddles to drop a gear to overtake as kickdown is slow and can drop down 2 gears. It has sufficient torque in 6th or 7th year to build speed quickly from around 50 Mph.
  14. Apart from Metallic paint they seem to be standard fitment on a Superb Sportline
  15. I think that problem was common on the earlier TSI engined MkII model. The MkIII onwards TSl can have issues with a weeping water pump, so ask if it's been changed , check the coolant bottle water level along with routine service including DSG fluid change, if it's fitted. It's a great engine, very smooth.
  16. The car and the extras are only worth what you as a buyer are prepared to pay. In my experience when selling cars I bought as new with full service history and quite a few extras, they don't seem to achieve much higher prices on trade-in, yet people who buy the car are waiting for them to hit the market, so it makes the sellers job easier.
  17. MkII TFSI engines did use a fair bit of oil. In complete contrast I had a 2015 VRS from new which used very little oil over 4 years.
  18. Having had 1 8 & 19" low profile tyres on a few cars, in comparison I find the standard Sportline ride with 18" 50 profile tyres very comfortable. DCC won't help reduce tyre noise or ride comfort of 19 inch wheels with 40 profile tyres. As @liveseytowers said, you don't want to hit any potholes too hard as replacement dampers are expensive. The only advantage I can see for DCC is in sport mode on winding roads.
  19. Hey

Wilkommen Emily, people are helpful on this site and the knowledgeable ones will give you good advice. Use the search function to help you solve problems.
  20. Don't hold your breath. Even when other VAT brands admit that a shared component is prematurely defective, i.e. requires remedial action and presented with well-documented evidence of similar faults, Skoda seems to have a track record of " never heard of that problem" and refusing to cover the cost... " E.g. TSI cam chain tensioners, sunroof plastic surround cracks, coolant loss caused by TSI water pump leaks. I lost faith after being told "they all do that, it's normal"
  21. I had this problem on my 2015 VRS following a bird strike and managed to sort it without visiting the dealers. I moved the sensor plate behind the power grill but only by a small amount. My car did not have ACC so I am unsure if your Front Assist sensor is integral to ACC or still separate behind the lower grill.

There may be screw-on headlight mointing brackets available.
  23. It sounds the same as mine. Sat on the forecourt Jun- Dec 23 with 8 miles on the clock, so probably never used and they 'fried' on the screen. Ergo the wiper blades from day 1 were very noisy and stiff. Bosch A864S replacements cost me £20 and are silent.
  24. @Gaz nice colour and the newer digital dash and heated steering wheel. I had a friend use the latest OBDII to change mine to VRS style dials which had a carbon effect, perhaps it's already got that layout. Just a test drive and visual check to do then...
  25. What a shame as the other one which sold was loaded with all the best extras. Stick with it @Gaz there will be a decent one. Having owned a Stage 1 VRS and 245 GTI, I know the 272/280 are more spacious, relaxing to drive and will easily beat them away from a standing start. The FWD cars simply can't put their power down. However, the slight downside is that the 272 and I think the older 280 have less torque. Easily solved by a stage 1 map and the DSG box will handle the extra load. I think the 280 has a 6 speed DSG, vs the 7 speed in the 272. If you can get a 18/19 reg I think they were under £40K for the cheaper road tax
