About to purchase this MK3, need some advice
Paikesejanku replied to bubib5's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
No ambilight, based on those pictures. -
There is an option to create your own EQ curve.

Luckily it is not excessive anymore, I have done lot of sound deadening and chosen relatively quiet tyres. I had all MK-1, MK-2, MK-3 Superbs, 3-series BMW (most quite of the cars I have owned, Honda (that was quite noisy). Recently drove with friends Kodiaq and it did not have problem with coarse tarmac noise or wind noise from mirrors. Friends 2018 Audi A6 Estate was very quite, and it had 20" wheels, compared to my 17". This is allready another topic

Stock system does not have amp at all. Anyway, for pricerange 460£ (this is how much it cost back in 2017), it is good enough upgrade. Sound deadening made it bit better and I agree that you wont get the result of 3k£ system. But, if I had such money for sound system, then I would choose another car that is quiet on coarse tarmac. You cannot enjoy normal volume Hi-Fi in such noisy car :(

I don't understand why be so angry Compared to other car vendors, it is cheap system and for the money you spend you get audible difference compared to stock. You have to consider that price of the system does not consist only of speakers. There are different door upholstery, dashboard, amp, subbox, additional speakers etc. To compare it 4-6 times more expensive custom made installation does not sound very vise thing to do.

Yes, that is the way it is designed.

Of course the noise is very dependent on the road surface. On rough tarmac it is very loud. When the tarmac is smooth, the wind noise from side windows will disturb instead. Luckily skoda offers noise reducing side windows for new models.

Known problem, I have done whole car noise insulation. Today I would choose Kodiaq, it has far better road noise insulation. Here is a Superb noise thread:

I use this tool https://www.mp3tag.de/en/ to edit mp3 tags, it shows also album art size. I use 650x650 pixel arts. For batch resizeing I used Sanse Mp3 Art Sizer, video review:

How big are album art covers included in mp3? Skoda head unit is unable to display very large image files inside the mp3.

Custom Dab Radio Logo Resolution
Paikesejanku replied to octadriver49's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
I started to update my logos and what I have observed still now. Factory preloaded logos are bigger... For starter, I followed 98x80 rule (196x160 with png had resizing effects). For square logo it worked best, but it was not as big as preloaded logos. 160x80 gave best result for horizontal oriented logos, they occupied preset box horizontally end to end. I have not figured out what kind of pixel ratio will fit exactly to preset box from top to bottom. I have MY17 Skoda superb MIB 2.0 Bolero. If I fit square logo in 160x80 png, it was smaller on headunit than 98x80 png. Another topic, does anybody know whay MIB 2.0 has white background on logos? -
Superb III Virtual cockpit retrofit

True, after 100km it is only possible to scroll forward, but it requires connection to factory servers. -
Requirements for active lane assist
Paikesejanku replied to mfizz's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
I have two options under lane assist, one will activate lane assist - acts as drunk driver. The other option is adaptive lane guidance and it will keep car in center of lanes. -
Assigning keys to seat memory
Paikesejanku replied to Sumodoggy's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Yes you can. If you have driver profiles, then it will take it from the profile. If you don't then there is extra setting in menu to assign seat to key. Tick it. -
Help with Android Auto
Paikesejanku replied to smithymartyn's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
In my experience, every time I connect to car with Bluetooth, it displays me Android auto icon on pull down menu. Saying that AA is available. If I connect cable, it takes some time to connect (I have bolero). Sometimes it needs to unplug the cable, but that happens because the cable quality. If I remove the phone during break and return, it resumes navigation. So I have not installed the app and don't see the need for that expect you want to tweak settings without car connection (it does not appear under apps to launch it separately). -

Help with Android Auto
Paikesejanku replied to smithymartyn's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Android 10 should have android auto built in to the system. So you should not download it separately. In inital setup, you have to also give access rights to android auto and setup it from phone screen. After that, is should run automatically. I have used Android auto with Samsung 9+ (with android 9 + separate app download and with android 10 + built in android auto). -
I have the same question. I have put effort in adding butyl sheets, to reduce the vibration from rough tarmac. Now in theory I'd like to suppress the accustic echo what car body generates because of the rough tarmac. Something that absorbs sound...
-
Hi, I also did this, and I like the sound this way better. Without, it made too much muddy bass vibrations. After covering it became more precise, did not notice any degradation in loudness.

Door insulation strip
Paikesejanku replied to Steviedakota's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
What other effect does it have besides that it fills the cap when door is closed? -
Made the B-pillar silencing. Now I have to drive around and test it. In my car, B-pillar plastic was covered with some noise dampering material. I covered with silent coat foam.
