SOS system switches off - Apple Carplay loses location
In to dealer for software update. Simple as that.

Water in boot
Yep, I had this issue in April last year when I had the car 3 weeks. Car went into dealer and after 3, yes 3 months they diagnosed that there was a pin head sized hole in the welding on top of the tailgate. After many furious emails to Skoda it was eventually fixed and I was compensated. Be prepared to have very invasive work done though, it involves headlining off and panoramic roof off to repair it. Hopefully your leak isn’t the same as mine.

Torn between skoda kamiq monte carlo and sel executive
Some cars remind me of midwives cars, some remind me of old man cars, and some remind me of baseball cap wearing boy racers, and if we are all honest we all subconsciously pigeonhole certain cars to a certain demographic…..difference is I just said it. How many times have you seen a chavved up Corsa with a wide bore exhaust and thought (or said) boy racer? Probably more times than you care to admit. If you took offence that’s on you. Now, where’s my baseball cap.

Torn between skoda kamiq monte carlo and sel executive
Pointless in your opinion. I reserved my Monte Carlo from a dealership in Cambridge before I’d even seen it in the flesh. Before collecting it I went to my local Skoda main dealer to see if I could see one but they never had any MC’s in stock. They did however have other spec Kamiqs on the forecourt and to say I was disappointed is an understatement, the non MC’s look bland in comparison. You might not like it but it’s my opinion. Simple.

But looks like a bland old man’s car🤷🏻♂️

Torn between skoda kamiq monte carlo and sel executive
It’s a non debate, the MC trim is by far the nicer looking Kamiq. Before I saw mine in the flesh I looked at a non MC Kamiq at my local dealership and without wanting to offend anyone it looked like an old man’s car, it was very bland. Again, depends what’s important to you, but for me the MC has more than enough spec AND is by miles far nicer to look at and drive.

Radio station logos
Agreed, it’s actually ridiculous 😂😂

Radio station logos
I’ve only skimmed this thread and unless I am much mistaken it’s about not having radio station logo’s. All this technical analysis for a few pointless logo’s? Did I also read that someone said they were going to get a Toyota next time? Maybe I should care more than I do😂😂

Kamiq 2023 facelift.
Yep, they don’t look all that different on the road, bearing in mind the new model isn’t JUST a facelift.

Kamiq 2023 facelift.
Ok then I will reiterate. The “all new” Fabia doesn’t look much different to the previous model. The principle and the point I am making is still the same🙄😂😂

Kamiq 2023 facelift.
Not from what I’ve seen, doesn’t look that much different. Much like the face lifted Fabia, it doesn’t look too different from the previous one.

Kamiq 2023 facelift.
The facelift won’t be much different anyway, so nothing lost.

Depends what’s important to you. You say you like the “extra safety tech” of the sel, even though the Monte Carlo has more than enough safety tech. The MC is by far the nicer trim, black grill, slightly lowered, the MC body kit, lovely interior and that gorgeous pano roof. I’d go as far as to say that compared to the MC the other trim version just look ordinary, bland if you like. Might not be a popular opinion but it is only my opinion. Ill give you an example. I ordered my MC based on dealer pictures so never saw it in the flesh until I went to arrange the finance. The supplying dealer was in Cambridge and I’m in Essex. So, in the meantime I drove to my nearest Skoda dealership to see one in the flesh BUT they didn’t have a Monte Carlo, only one of the other trims. To say I was disappointed is an understatement, it looked very basic and very boring and I was deflated. A week later I went up to view the actual one I was buying and the difference was night and day. But, that’s just me, the way your car looks might not be as important to you.

Lane assist is dangerous
For any newbies looking at the title/content of this thread, lane assist is definitely NOT dangerous. Im really not sure where the OP is coming from on this. It’s a safety measure which is standard on all new cars these days not just Skoda. To call it dangerous is both confusing and hilarious 😆. At the very worst its a slight inconvenience which you can turn off anyway, so not worthy of a thread imho.

2yr review..!
Mine was the mk 1 vRS and it was bulletproof from day 1. It was driven hard for 14 years solid and it never went into a garage unless for servicing. So, having owned Audi’s, Fords, Peugeots, Mercs, VW’s etc etc with ALL having suffered various issues I cannot class Skoda as anything less than the most reliable manufacturer. If you have a look you will find issues with literally every car manufacturer in the world, so Skoda aren’t in an exclusive club for rubbish reliability issues. I could sell my MC tomorrow and get a Vauxhall, a Ford or a VW, but all I’ll be doing is jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Better the devil you know👍

2yr review..!
I know, the trouble being that EVERY car brand suffers from gremlins and faults from time to time, from your Dacia to your Rolls Royce. Jumping from one brand to another does not guarantee a faultless driving/owning experience. Yes, you might have a car for 2/3/4 years and have nothing go wrong BUT that particular manufacturer will still have common problems…..no matter what the car. Ive driven and owned enough cars now to realise that the grass is definitely not always greener……and having driven/owned cars from pretty much every manufacturer you could name the fact is that my most reliable car in over 30 years was my Skoda Fabia vRS. I had that from new in 2004 and drove it every day for 14 years….and literally nothing went wrong/broke or failed. So, in my experience Skoda are still number one in reliability despite the Kamiq’s little quirks👍

Lane assist is standard on all new cars, so you will not escape it. Furthermore, the lane assist in mine has never even remotely caused me to hit other cars/kerbs/trees/lampposts, so when I read this and other threads regarding lane assist I cannot relate. Mine (and I’m pretty sure everyone’s else’s) is a gentle vibration/nudge and that’s it. Weird to read that people have escaped near death situations because of lane assist😂 Anyway, I agree with the infotainment system, and sometimes the engine when it’s cold, but everything else about my MC I love. Good luck with the Puma, although prepare yourself for one or two Ford related glitches/faults/quirks because you will get them👍

If there was one thing I would change about my Kamiq…
As light as a feather mate.

Lane assist is dangerous
Just imparting my experience, at no point was I/we told NOT to indicate, and we had the same driver training as the Met.

Lane assist is dangerous
I am in the London Fire Brigade and I can categorically tell you that our EFAD driver training ( Emergency Fire Advanced Driving) follows the same driver training as the Police, called Roadcraft. At no point in my training a few years ago was I advised or encouraged NOT to indicate. So, if you see a police car on blues not indicating then bottom line is that driver is a d*ckhead. Some might think I’m being harsh, but you wouldn’t if that police car caused a major accident just because he/she couldn’t be bothered to Indicate.

Door panel removal
Really? The speakers in my MC are more than adequate.

That I don’t know, I haven’t encountered a situation yet whereby I’ve been bothered to look into it.

Or me.

No worries bud👍 I made a slight error in my previous post, you DONT uncheck lane assist with the same button, you press the scroll wheel to do that.
