  1. When I looked on eBay, could almost get a pair of the grey/unpainted ones for the price of one green or red one.
  2. Replace item #4 here.... And the retaining clips and seals. A replacement can be got for not much money. The VAG OEM is stupid priced however. Can get Flurosilicone replacement with connectors also. Though that's £110. Frankly, if the hoses are not popping off or there's not obvious damage to the retaining "nubs" on the existing hoses, keep 'em! https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/fabia/fab/2005-453/1/145-145070/#4
  3. It's a mistake/error on their part. 2006 onwards for petrol and EURO4 emissions. Diesels need EURO6 and that's 2016, I think, I'm not sure.
  4. Are the daps included for scale or for fashion purposes?
  5. Alignment will almost certainly be out. Mine went through a few iterations of wearing inside, then outside edges of tyres. Lowering, console bushes wearing out, then console bushes replacement.... It's been perfect since the latter. But I went through a few sets of tyres where I left £££s and regrets at the tyre fitters when I should have had another 1000 miles or so of life left in them.
  6. Check the wiring between the ballast and the bulb. Maybe use some cleaner and dielectric grease on reassembly. Does the flickering bulb work fine in the other headlight?
  7. HTH.... Look for the word "seal" on this page. Get the part number and type it into a websearch. https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/fabia/fab/2005-453/8/
  8. 2:13 into... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DZz5bFWOqg
  9. Reliably reconditioned turbo might save you £50-£75 over a new factory unit. When the job might cost £1000-£1500....
  10. From my perspective and looking at the newer cars around the neighbourhood.... Shortly, I'll have to pay ULEZ to watch rugby in Richmond or visit friends near Wimbledon. So that's not too expensive but if visiting friends will cost £25 per overnight visit. Utter lack of tech. No cameras, no parking aids, no heated front screen. Bits that fail that you can't easily find..... Headlights becoming scarce. I have hazy and dimmer Xenons. Factory prices were always high to replace those. Recently had several £££s of turbo pipes replaced .... Which then caused the turbo to explode. So ££££s to fix it. The now complete lack of any cushioning from the top mounts front and back. Driving a concrete road is like operating an old style hammer drill. It's a one owner car. First car I bought new in 2005. Having previously owned second hand cars.
  11. The plastic tab on the cubby cracked on mine as I was accessing the OBD2 regularly to setup and run the Torque app. Currently has several folds of gorilla or "power-duck" tape performing the same function.
  12. Things to put on foglights. Cartoon goats or rams that broke your bumper? Cracked glass pattern, Spider's web.....
  13. To use an AUX-in with the CD changer "port" you need something more than a cable. Connects2 used to do a box for about £30-£40 that exposed two RCA jacks. Then you connected up what you liked. Only one that seems to exist now is Connects2 CTASKUSB001 adapter. Which seems very handy but is expensive. More expensive in fact, than binning the whole OEM radio and buying a new mechless JVC or similar and using a USB pen drive.
  14. There's one way to get a tiny bit more elevation of the lights. Loosen the Torx screws on top of the headlights and push the top edge back as you re-tighten them.
  15. Nope, mine look the same and are factory Xenons. A £500 option at that time.... - 2005! You haven't said what the fault are. Also..... Virtually no Fabia Mk1 or 6Y headlights in the past few years. Options appear to be.... Strip the exist headlights out and get the bowls re-silvered if scorched. Convert to bog standard halogen lights from a more usual Fabia (I don't know the details). Convert to bi-xenon using these guys. (Not heard of any UK people doing this). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntssBdaAIOg
  16. Rear calipers, check the handbrake return levers. "Helper" springs can help... Penalty is a stiffer handbrake. "Not green" calipers are available in pairs for £80-ish on eBay as opposed to green ones or red ones. Just in case.... 312 replacements need to be 5x100 PCD.
  17. If it vibrates when you rev it at a standstill it's a misfire.
  18. Ah crap, done by ghost topic resurrection again. 😄
  19. Question: Is it road legal? UK/EU DRLs are white, like every other visibility or seeing light at the front of the car. Indicators flash yellow. Personally, I think it's a grey area until someone claims "I saw an indicator on that car" and that somehow becomes the basis for cases claiming they are a distraction likely to cause incidents.
  20. I'm sure some drilled holes in them and cabled or zip-tied them on to stop them getting lost. If it's still on the car but unsupported, I'd grab it and put it somewhere safe until a new clamp is installed. "Refurb" kit from Jabba was about £30-40 ISTR. That included bushes, covers and lube from what I recall. I sourced the clamps from eBay or Amazon.
  21. Mikalor 91-97 or similar. The slide/shield bit is "a bit of tin" and can be removed quite easily. The newer Mikalors don't seem to rust. Bending them to an approximation of the right shape and getting the threads started can be annoying but it's a simple task. Main question is whether you still have the bush cover/protector thing or if it fell off. Between the clamp and the bush in the piccie on Jabba's site. It's a steel U section bent to fit around the bush.
  22. I've used the clips and bought a replacement mechanism. Main reason for "upgrading" from £2.99 to £12.99 (ish) was that unless you've already stripped the door carrier off, you don't know if there are any other broken bits. Haven't bothered with replacement carriers as I have non-standard speakers fitted and I don't want to faff around with that any more than I have to. Also used 6mm or 8mm butyl mastic rope rather than foam seal strips to seal the carrier back on. Can be found on eBay.

  24. I'll agree that a Fabia on standard suspension shouldn't have a Jabba RARB or anything stiffer unless it's for a bet involving beers and a track.
  25. The Jabba one is fixed. The Whiteline ones can be adjustable. Though I don't think I've seen many fixed Whiteline ones in the UK.
