  1. Yep, Round Them Faster than Mustangs!
  2. Don't you need VAGCAT and VAGCOM/VCDS to do that? It's not impossible with a handy and helpful internet band of brothers but sometimes there's no helpful elf nearby.
  3. It enables you to corner faster than Mustangs and "take them like a king".
  4. It should hold around 1.3 bar , so 18-19 psi. It'll overboost beyond that but should settle back. That's what the standard maps want it to do, according to info from back-in-the-day on this site.
  5. Add cam timing.
  6. Offset on standard steels seems to be 43mm. They'll sit "in" further by 5mm than Alexandru. You may need spacers if you do it. Why are you doing 65 profile exactly?
  7. ISTR the MAF wiring is clipped to the airbox or airbox lid. If someone's been a bit heavy with it, that could have strained the wiring.
  8. Fuel filler on the OSR is apparently the place you'll find problems if you go too mad as the wheel-arch cover bulges to accommodate it.... Unless everything rubs anyway. In which case it's all wrong.
  9. Definitely worth it. Though be careful with tyre choices on the back vs front. You don't want Rainsports on the front with eco-sliders on the back unless you're drifting. Won't help if you get front/back rocking on power on/off and braking. Mine got Eibach springs and shocks to fix that. Now it just kinda squats on braking rather than making me feel like a down-hill skier.
  10. Assuming a 3 button keyfob with the boot/trunk graphic on the middle button. Press and hold the middle button for a few seconds to unlock and open the boot.
  11. Regarding spending £100s on whizzy lights with loose wires hanging out the back, I agree. Or to add copycat angel eyes or highlights in the shape of DRLs on some German brands.
  12. Our (UK, euro) headlights have a nearside kick in the shape of a shallow/obtuse/flattened V. The USA DoTA ones have "kinked" or "chicane" beam offset. On the Fabia Xenons , to allow for continental driving, it's possible to "flatten" the beam output.... allegedly. Still, those piccies would seem to confirm one thing. One can't refurb projectors by flipping them upside down simply. The bloody things aren't symmetrical.
  13. About all you could do would be to low pressure supercharge it. a) On a 2004 car that's worth hundreds, that could cost thousands though. b) You then have a more modified car making it more difficult to insure. c) I very much doubt that a kit is available to bolt on. Would need at the very least fuelling and timing changes to avoid blowing up the engine. That probably means a custom map. d) There's every chance that you'd still blow up the gearbox. Pragmatic answer would be to buy a Mk2 or Mk3 with a DSG gearbox.
  14. Do you have a flip key or a key key? Not that that should make a difference, should be 434MHz.
  15. Replace like with like to avoid unforeseen problems. 6 speeder plus all the ancillaries to make the wheels go round is generally more expensive and heavier.
  16. Emissions: Euro 3 1.9 TDI VRS engine = ASZ Euro 4 1.9 TDI VRS engine = ASZ Numerous ways to encourage better cold morning car experience. Blocking the upper (or lower) front grilles. There used to be a thing called a radblind. Exterior sump heaters, a heat plate bonded to the outside of the oil sump pan. Interior sump heaters or "pokers". For the people side of things.... Seat heaters. Auxiliary ventilation heaters. These were an option on Fabias in some markets. There's a topic around somewhere trying to adapt them to a UK spec car.
  17. The BLTs warm up quicker. The water cooled EGR warms the coolant.
  18. Passenger rear footwell can be the rear wash screen wash hose. There's a joint around the rear wheelarch area.
  19. Even second hand is unlikely to be particularly cheap. IMO if you're on a stock turbo and not planning to change it, you don't need an FMIC.
  20. I have the three button flip key jobbies with mine. One of the alarm bits stopped working in pretty much the same fashion as you describe (light flashes but no lock/unlock). I bought a new "alarm" section from eBay and replaced the faulty one.
  21. Plusgas followed by file two flats and use an adjustable spanner?
  22. An exploded view of the projector would help. Pretty sure I haven't seen one anywhere.
  23. Apparently there is a procedure for "flattening" the beam pattern for continental driving. Resulting in a broad low beam with no LHS verge "kick". I guess the same could be done with LHD OEM Xenons. Whether that would pass MOT, I dunno though.
