Sorry to hear of your accident and hope you're not too shook up. As you are fully comp then the liability team at Direct Line will investigate this for you. The only way the guy can argue liability is by claiming that you reversed into him: are there any shops in the area where the accident happened? If so they may have CCTV at the front of their store which recorded the incident. Also I would have thought the police will have a log of their attendance at the scene and that the other party accepted liability. Don't be surprised if Direct Line advise you that you will need to pay your excess if liability isn't established by the end of repairs. This is standard procedure within Motor Insurance and once liability is established then you will be reimbursed the excess, provided liability falls with the other party. Hope this is of help and your claim is settled promptly, Andy -
Really?:confused: I thought it still applied to traitors and those who blew up her Majesty's shipyards.

It shows the difference between the colours of the press release pictures and reality. I'd be tempted by the first one, but the second pic looks a bit limp wristed.
-
Are you aware that capital punishment is still legal in this country for TRAITORS!!!! Seriously though, the best of luck with your new motor

"So, what do you do for a living?" "Well, I will have to kill you if you tell this to anyone else ... I'm an anti-terrorist suicide truck bomb wall designer" "Oh" (Quickly shuffling away)

Why, oh why did I choose an office job?!!! The question that comes to mind is: Why did the neighbour's wife object? Was it because she didn't want him sleeping with another woman, or because she knew he wasn't the father and possibly sterile? Also, why aren't there any pictuers of these people?

My job went to India and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt

You wouldn't have to learn Indian, just a lower form of English to fit in!! What a bummer, hope it all works out for you -
Damage to new car:-(
sheep_go_baa replied to Birdwell L&K's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
The large accident repair centres are very good, but personally I would request it goes to Skoda, especially given the short time that you have owned it. It's no skin off your nose or pocket as to where you want the car to go. -
Damage to new car:-(

Sorry to hear of your accident, it must be gutting. To get to the point: Mater's recall is correct, generally it has to be around the 60% mark before they consider writing a car off. In case you are not already aware: as liability lies with the other party you are entitled to a courtesy car for the whole time that your car is unusable - this is wouldn't apply for the time you have your car before repairs if it is still perfectly safe to use, nor for the time once you get your car back from the garage. No idea on costs of repairs as it all depends on the amount of damage that you cannot see, but I believe you have a right to specify which garage you want the car to go to - this can be a Skoda maindealer if you wish. Hope this is of help and your claim goes through smoothly, Andy -
What about a Lazee-boy Chair, only £1000 per seat... would only have to last 500 years to match the £2 per annum cost of the Ikea chair - likely to happen, methinks not!

That sounds horrible shark_90: all those weekends away watching motorsport - how will you cope?!

Internet Explorer connection help needed (XP)
sheep_go_baa replied to Stubax's topic in The Technology Shed
I've never come across this problem before, but a number of seemingly technical problems have been solved by the following. Shut all computers down and turn them off at the mains - this applies to the router too. Wait for about 5 mins and then turn them all back on again. This seems to clear all electronic clutter from the systems and enables them to have a fresh start -
The other option is to power the outside socket by having a plug on the opposite end to the outside socket and plug it into a socket inside when you need the power outside - just make sure you have an RCD somewhere on the 'extension'. This is basically fitting an extension cable but as a permanant fixture. I'm not a sparky either

Having sorted out my calender for the year I have 8 completely free weekends left before 2010, and most of these are likely to get filled. I also work monday - friday. aaaarrrrggggghhhh PS good luck with all the wedding/house/job/family plans

How to deter parking on private roads?
sheep_go_baa replied to heresmo's topic in The Roadside Hotel
You could contact the MoD to see if they have any spare mines knocking about - they won't park there again!! (Just make sure no-one sees you plant them). I didn't tell you this either. If anyone accuses me I will just deny it: their word against mine and no evidence in sight!! -
I've cut a number of sleepers using a circular saw. It takes two cuts, one on the top, turn it over and a second on the top (was the bottom). This shouldn't be too hard as as precision isn't required.

L&K Auto Headlights on when Sunny!
sheep_go_baa replied to RoBex's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I haven't had problems with my auto lights/wipers, but your situation sounds very annoying. The reason why I'm posting is because the Google ads that are beneath your post (at the time I read it) are for Autoglass and some other windscreen replacement company. How ironic. Or is it because the ads are generated from content mentioned in the post. -
People just dont like been overtaken by Skoda's
sheep_go_baa replied to Tomo1971's topic in Off Topic Chat
I love driving and I'm driving from Yorkshire to Essex for the Easter weekend. But the one thing I am NOT looking forward to is having my cruise control set at a little over 70 and constantly bunny hopping with ejits who cannot keep a constant speed. This is gets worse when you're approaching a speed camera and the people who have come flying past feel that the have to slow down to 65 so the camera doesn't take a nice picture of them! Why can't they at least do 70? Still looking forward to the drive though -
