  1. Surely, consecutive just means one after the other. There is no time frame implied. As for fixed servicing vs variable, I was lead to believe that vehicles doing low mileages (say 8k or less) per annum, should be on fixed as it would be quite likely that journeys would be shorter and the oil would possibly not get up to an proper operating temperature for long enough.

My heated mirrors are left permanently in the ‘on’ position. The amount of juice that they consume must have an almost negligible effect on economy.
  3. Yes - most deffo remotely. I have raised an issue with SUK when there is a big lag ‘synchronising profile’ and have been told that there have been ‘server’ issues at their end...
  4. Here’s a question... I have driver personalisation, which means that the car sync’s my settings (seat position, dash settings etc) to Skoda’s servers along with SWMBO’s. Each time one of us unlocks / locks the car. Will this feature stop working once the Skoda connect expires?
  5. Exactly, if the dealer is able to reproduce the problem as opposed to the normal “we have investigated and cannot replicate the issue” response, then the car should be left with them until the problem has been fixed.
  6. Chips away have done a good job for me on minor scratches in the past. Obviously the skill of the operative is the important factor here, not the name of the Company. Others may have views.

While you’re there, check the light settings to make sure they are set for driving on the left.
  8. I would suggest speaking (via the chat function) to Skoda UK.... I’ll PM you the full transcript I had with them when I questioned them about this problem.
  9. I have had a similar issue with my brand new (2 week old) vehicle. I managed to get an answer out of SUK, who told me that there are issues with the servers from time to time. Basically, when you open the car it communicates with their server to retrieve the values that were last saved by that particular key. No data is stored in the key, it is purely an identifier for a user. When you leave (log out) it attempts to save back the status of your profile (you may have changed the A/c settings or the dashboard layout if you have the electronic version. SUK also provided me with a list of exactly is stored against a user. I’m guessing this feature stops working if you do not renew the Skoda connect subscription. 10. Auto hold is great. I just give the brake a heavier press once stationary and then let go. The dash will confirm it is engaged. As for (my) judder when pulling away, I am fully aware that a hefty right foot will cause wheel spin from a standing start. What I experienced had nothing to do with tyres or loss of grip. The roughness occurred at what could be described as little more than snails pace, in fact if auto hold had not been engaged then the old fashioned method of pulling away, where one had their foot on the brake and just let the car pull away on idle speed by gradually releasing pressure would not have caused any ‘judder’. The fact that I had to apply some accelerator to overcome the brake may well be a contributory factor. Over the years I have driven vehicles with almost every type of transmission ever designed, from HGV / PSV crash boxes, to fully synchromeshed, then semi auto (with and without pre select) to fully automatic cars / buses and fire appliances. I think I have a pretty good understanding of what causes wheel spin and what doesn’t.
  11. I also experienced this ‘judder’, my description would be snatching, when we pulled away from the forecourt on the day we picked it up with just 11 miles on the clock. I did not accelerate heavily, more a gentle pull away. After that it has been fine, I put it down to newness... This is a 1.4Tsi 150PS with the 7 speed DSG. If it happens again, it will be back to the dealer. Our previous DSG on a diesel Octavia never did this.
  12. I think the OP bought from stock, LED's are a £1200 option on the SE, and are not (as far as I know) a retrofit. Having said that I agree that the LED's are a good light.
  13. Sounds like a good deal. Interested why the headlight bulbs were changed? Which model have you purchased?
  14. Coming a bit late to the party... Picked up our Karoq 2 days ago. As with others opted for the personalisation, mainly for seat settings as we have very different requirements, and the electric seat, once set up, is a joy. I have got to the point where i have 2 keys set up (one for each of us). The car correctly recognises which key is whose on unlocking. Then the inconsistencies start. The system seems to go off on a wild goose chase if the current key is not the same one as was last used. The seat doesnt move and the screen gets locked. Eventually it seems to fail and presents the users screen. At this point I have to manually change users / provide the correct pin and then all the settings get used. The seat moves and so forth. I'm guessing this must be some sort of connectivity issue. Anyone have any suggestions?
  15. Well... it has finally arrived. 5 and a half months after ordering and 4 and a half months after being built, we picked up our Karoq on Saturday. This time we treated ourselves to the electric seat option. I have to say that its an absolute winner. Especially the lumber support. I also like the ability to lower the front end of the seat squab. I prefer to sit high in the car, not like those who wear their trousers down around their knees and sit as low as possible, the only problem with this stance is that the front edge of the seat used to cause muscle pain at the back of my thigh on long journeys. Whilst fiddling with the radio / media player (we went for the Canton option) I found that there is a Dolby digital surround option! This will (probably) be the last new car we buy, as I dislike the option of electric vehicles. I think they are being miss sold, a bit like the push for diesels years ago. I am not convinced about the ethics of digging up the limited supplies of rare minerals, nor the whole battery production, useful life, recycling process. And of course the availability of sufficient electrical supplies to recharge said vehicles. Sadly we are no-where near being able to produce electricity using renewables in sufficient quantity. Looking at UK generation mix as I type this reveals that just 12% of our requirement is being produced by renewables (Wind 7%, Biomass 5%, Solar 0.1%). Gas accounts for 57% and we are BUYING 9% from France, Holland and Belgium....
  16. I’m afraid dealers will always revert to the ‘we can’t replicate the problem’ whenever they can. I always take video evidence if at all possible, this is less easy to ignore.
  17. If my recent experience is anything to go by, it could be as quick as 3 weeks...
  18. Were you asking me? - Week 22 (end of May)
  19. You might be in for a surprise, I had the same information 2 weeks ago, collect mine next week.
  20. Just heard from my dealer that our BW 22 Karoq SEL / DSG / Electric seat / Flippy Floppy Towbar and Space ship console will arrive with them tomorrow (Friday 10th). Looks likely that we’ll be able to exchange it for the brand new Golf that they lent us to come on holiday to France with when we get back next Friday (17th)... Woopee do

Hmm, I thought the ‘kangaroo’ effect was normally found in manual versions. The DSG should smooth out any of that hesitancy.
  22. Whilst this has been debated in previous posts (as mentioned above). I suppose you could possibly have a case to reject the car IF it says in the manual that you can enter a location using the postcode and the dealers are unable to prove to you that it can work like that.
  23. Just had a call from the Sales Manager - firstly to confirm the Model and reg of the 'loan' car that we will be taking to France next week.... AND more importantly that our Karoq is on its way from the factory fully complete! Our build week was 22 (end of May) A nice surprise when we return mid September!!
  24. My week 22 build (end of May) has Virtual Cockpit specc’d too. Which all points to that being one of the pinch points. Next week I am picking up a loan car to go to France for a 2 week holiday, I will ask when was the last car (of any type) that they have received from the factory.
  25. TBH, I think the vehicles are still at the factory.
