  1. I recently read that the SEAT Ateca (the Karoq's sister car) has been discontinued in the UK. It is still being produced for the Spanish market but in one trim level only. Is it likely that the Karoq will follow suit in the next 12 months or so?
  2. Depends on how you look at it. I was offered the 'all in' plan for my Karoq recently. Paying the best part of £1,000 to cover the next 2 years is, in my opinion, a rip off compared to using an independent and/or doing most of the service work yourself. I have always felt that these kind of offers are for the benefit of the dealer/manufacturer and not the customer. But if you are happy with it, go for it. Your choice.
  3. I bought mine from here (also for a 1.0 litre Karoq). I keep the tools in the supplied bag in the cubby hole in the boot so no foam inserts needed. Used a couple of times and worked fine. I have a feeling (but can't be certain) that the spare wheel was stamped with the VAG logo but don't quote me on that. www.thewheelshop.co.uk
  4. I was looking over the weekend how to reset the service indicator on my 2022 Karoq. It seems to have similar screen images as your Scala. I came across this Youtube video for a Kodiaq. I tried it on my Karoq and it worked. It may work on your Scala. Let us know how you get on.
  5. I also had an invite to a VIP event which I binned. Clearly simply a sales tactic. My attitude is that I will visit the showroom when it suits me and will buy on my terms. Nowt wrong with that.
  6. Given the number of problems you have stated, I'd be inclined to reject the car. I'm not sure if you have to give them one chance to put the problems right but given the extent of them, the car cannot be considered fit for purpose. I would write to them now stating that you have rejected the car and ask them to supply you with another one or give you a full refund. This may get them to book you in with a courtesy car more quickly but be prepared to go through with the rejection. You simply shouldn't have to put up with this build quality.
  7. Was in my local (North West) Skoda dealers this week. They had an offer on for air con regas for £75. I'm not sure if this is a national campaign or specific to them. If you decide on a regas, it's probably worth checking the price at your local dealers. But as they say, if it's working leave it alone.
  8. I bought a spare wheel, jack etc on line from the wheelshop close to Manchester. No problems with them giving me advice and delivery was quick. Although my car has 17" wheels and tyres, they advised me to go for their 18" spare. This fits nicely in the skinny wheel well but I don't have the foam inserts. I keep the tools in the bag supplied with the spare which sits in the right hand cubby hole in the boot.
  9. Before you put the wheel back on, put a bit of copper grease (only a very small amount) around where the alloy wheel and the steel hub meet. This will make life much easier when you have to remove the wheel next time.
  10. I had exactly the same problem about a year ago. I ordered the quoted Bosch blade on line but it was the wrong fitting. After a bit of an argument, the supplier gave me a refund. I then ordered the correct Bosch wiper from my local independent car parts supplier on a Friday morning. They looked it up on their computer and showed me a photograph of it on screen. They didn't have it in stock but got one in for me by the lunchtime. So Bosch certainly do a replacement rear wiper for a 2022 Karoq which is A335H. Everywhere else was quoting the A331H fitting which is incorrect.
  11. Just make sure the wheels from the ex demonstrator are in perfect condition and have been cleaned on the face side and the inside properly. You wouldn't want wheels that have been damaged by the many people who have driven the ex demonstrator in the past or by sales staff who quite often take these cars for their personal use (and who aren't in the slightest bit bothered about damage they cause to them).
  12. Sorry I don't know the paint code but the colour as marketed by Skoda is cappucino beige. I had this on a Fabia a few years ago and liked it. Hope this helps you.
  13. Is anyone able to answer this please?
  14. My 1.0 litre Karoq with engine code DLAA is coming up to 3 years old now. I know the cambelt has a long life but I would like to inspect it when I service the car later this year. How do I go about inspecting it please without taking half the engine apart? Is there an easy way to do this? Many thanks.
  15. Just re-checked my figures. The cost of the sump plug was £4.95 + VAT. The cost of the washer was around the same. The total cost on the invoice was £11.40 for what is essentially a bolt and a washer. Totally outrageous
  16. I have just been to my local Skoda dealer for a sump plug and washer for his 2017 Octavia S. I rang this morning and was told the plug was £4.75 plus VAT. I thought this was a bit pricey but then thought at least it will be the correct part. I also assumed the plug came with the washer. When I went to the dealer to pick it up, the parts chap said it was £11 something. I said no - you told me it was £4.75 plus VAT. He then said the washer was sold separately and was £4.50 plus VAT. I said I was not prepared to pay that for a simple washer. He went away and I had a look around the showroom whilst I was there. He came back with just the sump plug and an invoice for £4.75 plus VAT. I said this is useless without the washer isn't it? He said yes that's right. So I said I don't want it and he walked off. Just how can a dealer justify charging so much for a simple bolt and washer? I'm off to my local car parts shop and will avoid the dealer as much as I can.
  17. I have just received an invitation to a Skoda VIP event at a dealers in the north west. I can have a specific appointment time and a lanyard to show I am a VIP! I have had them before and binned them. What a load of twaddle. Call me a cynic but as far as I am concerned dealers can't shift their cars so invent these events to drum up sales. They are simply marketing ploys that some people fall for. For me, I will replace my car when it suits me provided the deal is acceptable at the time. Walk round the showroom wearing a lanyard to make me feel important indeed! Wouldn't it be better if dealers just reduced their prices to sensible levels to attract customers?
  18. I drove home from London to the North West a few weeks ago. I filled up as I left London. After at least 60 or so miles of motoring, the range left on the display had actually gone up from the figure it was showing in London. I find the gauge anything but accurate but it was the same on the 5 other Skodas I had before the Karoq.
  19. When I bought my Karoq in January 2024, I took out HP but only to get 2 free services. The dealer told me I had to take out a minimum of £2k and not pay it off for at least 6 months. I knew this wasn't correct so contacted Skoda Financial Services. They confirmed I could withdraw from the HP agreement within the first 14 days and keep the 2 free services. This is what I did and have used up 1 of the free services so far without any problem. I paid a few pounds in interest. Don't believe what dealers tell you where money is concerned. Always speak to the people who have no vested interest in your financial arrangements and who should give you correct and proper advice.
  20. I found out my air con wasn't working a few weeks ago. I had the car in for some other warranty work so they re-gassed the air con system at the same time. The cost was £99 (I think this was some kind of promotion by Skoda). Works fine now. But I do ask myself why I had to pay for a re-gas when the car was under warranty.
  21. A friend has a problem with the rear seat locking mechanism on his Karoq. It is the one on the driver's side (the bigger of the 2 rear seat backs). It locks OK but the little red warning button doesn't go inside the mechanism as it should. You can buy the mechanisms and the fit seems simple enough. But it looks like the back of the rear seat needs to be removed to do the replacement. Does anyone know how to remove the back of the seat without damaging it please? All help appreciated.
  22. Thank you. What does 'observe the following notes' say please for refitting? That bit is missing. It may not be that important but will be useful to know. Thank you.
  23. I need to get at the seat belt buckle on the driver's side of the rear seat in my 2022 Karoq. Does anyone know how to remove the seat cushion please and refit it? Thank you.
  24. I would go back to Skoda Financial Services and ask them again. You'll probably speak to someone else in there anyway. Ask for a clear yes or no answer to your question and get the name of the person you spoke to. It worked for me..
  25. If you write to Skoda customer services and quote your VIN, they will tell you when the cambelt needs changing. I did this when I had my Octavia and Skoda changed the intervals a few years ago.
