Boot unlocks its self after 10 secs
I did mention trying the other remote as you never know!

Aftermarket steering wheel
...Bit like swapping over all the car's logos/badges to say, Bentley, etc. (I seen a number of Chryslers with that).

Smelly air vents
I use a professional smoke machine, with the fog-it solution in to clean my vent equipment. I also swap my pollen filter once a year. That said, I have never suffered a stink but that may be why!

Fuse 26 blows when washer operates
I too, would suspect the pump as when used just for wipers, ok. Does it also blow, when you use the rear wiper only?

Fabia MK2 Boot/Hatch/Tailgate Springs for Automatic Opening
Found where I got mine and they are now a tiny bit cheaper, too! Aliexpress, The seller was called Auker Auto Accessories store. They came within a few weeks so don't worry too much about that. (There's an eBay seller, selling a similar product, for £40-odd quid). Go to aliexpress and type in this. Fabia MK2 Boot/Hatch/Tailgate Springs for Automatic Opening
I did do bonnet struts. Forget how much I paid for them but they are really simple to fit, the biggest obstacle being the need to loosen the bonnet hinges to slip the brakes in and re-tighten. Need to take cars so as not to damage the bonnet or lose its correct alignment position. Do one at time and all should be fine. I will try to look back at where I got mine as at first, I was gonna get some which I mentioned here once but they were more expensive and I ended up buying a kit for I think, around £20.

Skoda Fabia 1.5TDI Oil Chain Snapped
Yep... Thats labour for you! They are supposed to be the working class party but basically stifle the working mans rights more then the Conservatives, who really want low level Government. Labour want us all working, travelling by P.T, and paying in to unions, to "Protect our rights"! Yeah, our rights to pay through the nose to drive old cars as we can ill-afford newer ones or spend every penny we do have on upgrading, only to have that goalpost moved a further five years down the line.

Skoda Fabia 1.5TDI Oil Chain Snapped
Old thread there, Skoz007, on what is now an even older car... That said, mine snapped and wrapped itself around the oil pump-apparently, at around 50,000 miles and a shade under three years old. Skoda fitted a brand new engine, under warranty without quibble. Been going strong ever since, now having clocked up close to 160,000 miles (110,000 on the new lump) but must go soon, due to the PITA ULEZ!

Boot unlocks its self after 10 secs
Just looked at a Ford -based forum and they get this issue quite a lot. Mostly, it seems to be due to water ingress on their cars and drying out the connecters, WD40, etc and/or filling the connectors with grease suitable for electrical plugs helps... (Not on the pop though, as mentioned earlier). If too far gone, a new pop is needed. So, check the electrical contacts that feed the boot unit, check the wires at the tailgate hinge for damage, too. Look for any worn/damaged wires and any sign of corrosion. After that, its just elimination!

Boot unlocks its self after 10 secs
I Just had an additional thought... Check there is no safety override doing this as in say, the case of accidents, the boot may be unlocked by the ECU, for access in an emergency. I think auto-locking doors have this sort of override. You might find a known feature has become a fault! Just a thought there!

Boot unlocks its self after 10 secs
Do you mean the boot "Popper" switch? I had issues with mine years ago, whereby I sprayed it or lubed it, thinking I was doing good routine maintenance, only for the unit to then develop a fault. (The ol' "Machine gun, pop-pop-pop-pop) prior to actually opening up... On speaking to the main dealer, they said you should NOT use anything on the mechanism, apart from just wiping it clean as they are very sensitive and my fault was the likely outcome. I had to replace the unit at around £30 a (A'hm) pop! Never been an issue again. It might be worth trying out another switch but unlocking sounds odd. Does your model also have the boot opener on the inside of the front door? Some models had this and as water/damp sometimes causes issues with the window switches, it might also do to that one! (Mine does nor have this button). As UrbanPanzer mentioned a sticky on the remote, if you have two remotes, try the other one, keeping the car well away from the one you usually use, first. This will isolate the first key, preventing it from being able to accidentally set off the pop function.

Heater blower not working
The resistor is part of the fan itself, I believe and to change the fan is a dash-out job. Genuine fans are quite expensive and labour will be a fair chunk so expect a bill of close to £500. You might find a cheaper alternative on some of the motor factor sites or a second hand one, but be sure to get the correct fitment. Be sure to check the fuse for there fan first or have someone test the fan.

Fabia MK2 Boot/Hatch/Tailgate Springs for Automatic Opening
I doubt if they are still there. I had two sets and TBH they work ok if well greased and in warmer weather but tend to only part open if colder. This might be down to needing to be slightly longer springs or perhaps be better if you add a few washers to the springs, to add extra length. I was going to send the other set to the OP but they never replied again.

Fabia 1.4tdi Preparing to change flexible fuel
Fabia at that age is 5j, or mk 2, pre facelift... The 3 refers to the car's spec. (Arm rest, trim levels, etc). I think I had exactly the same pipe wear out and leak on my car, some months back. It was a short piece of hose, about six or so inches. it connected a metal pipe that runs along the front of the engine, to the pump and is made stable by a kind of double plastic clip that clips two hoses together to help prevent movement. Jubilee clips (Stainless if possible) are easier to use then the old squeeze-types unless you have the proper pliers to do them. I purchased the pipe and clips from a local car parts specialist, called I think, Clarkins, on Forest Road, Walthamstow. They even cut me a piece from the bit I purchased, to just slightly over the original size, to allow a little more flex to help with vibration. (Less pull on the hose). It is easy to cut but I would have used a knife, where they had cutters, which make a nice clean accurate cut. I cannot remember the hose size but think it was something like an 8mm bore. The main thing is to be sure it is suitable for diesel fuel and the seller should know that. Aside from undoing the clips, prying off the hose and re-fitting, there should be no other worries as the pump will self prime. you might get a small amount of diesel leak when removing the hose but thats to be expected. I will try to load a photo to see if its the same hose as you mean but if you follow the metal pipe, it then goes back to rubber hose and goes in to the fuel filter, just behind the offside headlight. That hose too, is of the same bore and as it is standard hose, should be easily obtainable from most motor factors. Skoda main dealers only list the complete metal/flexi-hose as a unit so its quite expensive to buy like that and you would most likely only swap the rubber bit anyway!

Judder and lurch going into second - DSG7
Hi, I know nothing of these gear systems but have heard of some cars with Mechatron (?) systems that have had issues and/or Haldex systems that need a filter and oil replaced as a service interval. I think the Haldex only refers to 4WD cars so won't affect you but is there any service interval for yours, that has not been adhered to? I would stick to the recommended schedule like a leach to a skinny-dippers buttocks! I think the service schedule is every 40,000 miles.

...Mostly, they stop, and FAIL to start!

2013 Monte TDI - mysterious steering wheel wobble (205/45 R17)
If a caliper is rusty, it may not close/open nicely, when the brakes are pressed. Any issue with discs will then be greatly exaggerated!
-
ABS sensor ring - rear hub
I was told it'd be pump too but now the issue has sorted itself, after re-fitting normal lightswitch and normal bulbs to sidelights, etc. If you can see the pump, try checking for cracks, though as water/moisture may well ingress and cause issues. Dry it with hairdryer and put sealant over any cracks found.

Engine
I was looking for £2K but I'd accept £3.5!

Engine
...Or a nice 1.4 Greenline, in black. No-one here actually asked your budget... If you need a tight budget, reliable car, good MPG, and low insurance, (9 points? Naughty)! that may be a good choice. If you are not in a ULEZ zone, that is as any diesel will cripple you then!

ABS sensor ring - rear hub
All this started around the time I had a student who did mini-emergency stops, every time he braked, until he got used to driving again after a ten year absence. This did coincide with the same sort of time I fitted the auto lights switch and LED bulbs, hence my reasoning!
-
ABS sensor ring - rear hub
Strugs, have you done any other modifications to the car? I had an ABS fault on my rear left which came on and went, over and over. Swapped out the sensor twice, still did it. Took it to a specialist, told them I heve swapped the sensor twice already, they did it again, charging me over £200 just to do exactly the same thing, light up after a short drive... They then did a swap of left to right bearing/reluctor ring, fault persisted, did a continuity test, no difference. Then though winter, it sort of cleared up mostly. Back to warmer werther, it started to come on agin. I recently reverted back to standard, a few mods I had fitted. (Auto lights, certain LED bulbs from rear lights, sidelights, etc). Since doing the reversion, I have not had an issue with the ABS light coming on. I have had lights on and off, done countless emergency stops, basically tried to make the ABS come on but it has since stayed away. I am thinking it may just have been some sort of voltage glitch... Oh, it seemed to happen less when it was happening, if I made sure the battery was fully charged so that again, suggests a glitch somewhere in the voltage. Might just be me/my car but think about any things you may have changed/added.

Fabia Mk2 Black Grille trim
I think due to the facelift, most people who wanted to de-chrome their upper grille, painted/had it painted themselves. The norm was upper part chrome, lower part black with certain models having a thin, chrome strip around it but usually, higher spec variants. So to de-chrome the lower part, just exchange the grille for a lower specced version. The upper you might have to work on... TBH, I found it funny people wanted to remove higher spec parts and go "Down market". I think it came around once people saw Skoda put the black painted trim on I think, the Monte Carlo and wanted to copy the idea. I personally, like the chrome touches. I even have a chrome tailgate strip.

Sill protective coating repair (?)
Be sure to scrape off any loose bits first and overlap the old sealant with the new stuff, to create a good seal.
