  1. I actually LIKED my Allegro estate. I'd better get my coat too...
  2. Enjoy your new car @Jim2015 After 15 years of Skoda ownership, I too shall look to other manufacturers for my next car for all the reasons you mention. Corolla will certainly be on my list.
  3. Skoda recommends the air-con is serviced every 2 years. My local main dealer (who services my Yeti) informs me they would not routinely service the air-con unless there was a problem with it. I am no major fan of the dealer, but I'll give them credit for explaining this. My Yeti is coming up to 7 years old and the air-con has never been serviced, but still functions correctly. I'll ask the dealer again about the air-con servicing when Yeti goes in for its 8th service.
  4. That's what I thought In similar vein, my DSG auto will not start unless I have my foot on the brake. If I attempt to start with my foot off the brake, I get the message "Depress the Brake!" My understanding is that these are safety features to prevent the car from lurching forward if the engine is started with the transmission in gear.
  5. I remain grateful to @Expatman for the help he gave me in my attempt to secure 16" wheels on my Yeti Drive. Sadly, the gate shut before I was able to do this. I had the choice of Yeti Drive with 17" wheels or no Yeti at all.
  6. Hi Hawkander and welcome to Briskoda. Have a look on the Bay of E for "Febi Wiring Harness / Cable Repair Kit for door". A couple of guys on the Yeti Forum have used these successfully, and I expect there would also be a version for the Fabia II
  7. ^^^Been there, done that, got the tee shirt...
  8. Video of Yeti towbar installation might be of interest: Skoda Yeti Feature | Towbar Fitting | Phil Taylor Towbars
  9. Hi Steve, As you are aware, Skoda's three year warranty includes Skoda Assist - and very good it is too. Also be aware that if you buy an extended (4 or 5 year) warranty, Skoda Assist is not included during years 4 & 5. Enjoy your new Fabia 👍
  10. Hi Gwilo! Welcome back 👍 No such thing as stupid questions. Stupid answers maybe...
  11. Aubrey's and John's posts have jogged my memory. I have a vague recollection of posts made on here in 2009 (the year I bought my first Roomster) that suggested some potentiometers fitted to 2007(ish) Skodas were failing prematurely. So if my ageing memory has served me correctly, it would seem the potentiometer is a known weakness. Again from memory, it is a reasonably straightforward and inexpensive fix.
  12. Hi Steven and welcome to Briskoda. The rear wiper will not operate if Yeti's electronic wizardry senses (correctly or incorrectly) the tailgate is open. This could point to a fault in the tailgate lock. But I agree with JR that the most likely cause of your problem is the known issue of broken wires within the bellows at the top of the tailgate.
  13. The speech is not very clear in places. I had to resort to subtitles to interpret some of it!
  14. Also see @Bexhillian's post here:
  15. Worry about that when you finally sell the car. Until then, continue enjoying it 👍
  16. A couple of guys on the 'other' forum have made successful repairs with a Febi wiring harness repair kit:

As is the 1.2 - 105bhp or 110bhp depending on engine. I've never found mine wanting.

Welcome. Also some negative stuff on leaking sunroofs. Not just on Yetis but across the entire VAG range. Over on the Yeti Owners' Club, the L&K (standard sunroof) is often referred to as the LE&K.
  19. I've not heard of this offer but I, too would treat it with suspicion. "Yes, Sir your software is OK... but we just happened to notice your brakes/discs/suspension/exhaust/etc. might need attention".
  20. Hi Roomier and welcome to Briskoda. I consider my 2009 Roomster Scout 1.9tdi the best car I have owned during fifty years of motoring. Only sold because of the need for DSG following the return of an old knee injury.
  21. My Yeti's water pump only lasted 18k before it leaked
  22. Ridiculous beyond belief - but sadly, an all-too-common problem with sunroofs across the VAG range. If the car were mine, I would remove the fuse to the sunroof then place helicopter tape over the joint between sunroof and car body.
  23. Same here - I consider my 1.9tdi Roomie Scout the best car I have owned during 50 years of car ownership. Sold only because of the need for DSG due to the return of an old knee injury. Fortunately, I consider my Yeti a close second.
  24. Welcome. I loved my two Roomsters. Unlike the Roomster, Yeti's spare wheel takes up a considerable amount of cargo space. Despite this, I find there is enough space left for my camping gear. I agree with @roottoot the Yeti looks a good 'un. Cambelt should have been replaced at 5 years regardless of mileage. Check in the service and maintenance history that this has actually been done. If not, insist it is done as part of the deal. Good luck!
