  1. Briefly open and close the door, then the lights will stay on for about 10 minutes or until you turn the ignition on.
  2. In the 1990's SAAB claimed that the exhaust emissions from a SAAB 9000 in cities contained less NOx and HC than the intake air, so greenwashing isn't a new phenomenon. There are many matches on Google, here's just one Reducing Tailpipe Emissions: Clean SAAB 9000
  3. Are you asking about a firmware update or map update? If firmware you'll need to provide more information, specifically the current firmware version.
  4. "Nearly all" is not the same as "consensus". Surely you're not suggesting that wikipedia is a reliable source?
  5. Climate change has happened over the millenia (as can be measured by e.g. CO2 concentrations in rock samples, radio carbon dating of organic samples, etc.) and historical records of e.g. Romans growing Mediterranean grape varieties at Hadrians Wall forts and the Middle Ages mini Ice Age. CO2 levels are not at their highest in Earth's history, during the period of the dinosaurs there is some evidence that CO2 was at around 6% - hence the huge vegetation growth and large vegetarian dinosaurs. What's still debated by some is the relative effects of natural cycles vs human activity.
  6. On the FL models is the indicator still a bulb (as the pre-FL) or part of the LED strip?
  7. You've just opened a whole new can of worms. Is a source that's funded by a commercial organisation dependent on oil/gas reputable? Is a source that's funded by a commercial organisation dependent on renewal power reputable? Both of those will tend to fund only research that produces the "right answer" for their commercial interests, so some would say any research they fund is NOT independent and hence could be argued not to be "reputable". Truly independently funded research which will report what they found without bias is incredibly hard to find now that most Governments have abolished or drastically cut back on non-commercial funding.
  8. You don't tell us what engine you have so it's impossible to confirm or deny that statement.
  9. It says ZR+/NAV - the slash means WITHOUT.
  10. I've never had to top up my 1.8 EA888 between services.
  11. That's an assumption, there are other people who share @EnterName's opinion.
  12. I have a 2016 Amundsen which doesn't have the SIM so I'll have to let someone else answer that.
  13. First question is whether you have an Amundsen or Columbus sat nav? Amundsen needs an SD card inserted all the time for the maps. The problem is that the maps by default use a TMC transmission that's no longer active, but there are hacks to switch to the one still being transmitted - there is a thread about this on briskoda. Alternatively the newer system, which on a 2019 model will probably include yours, can get traffic information using the SIM.
  14. Context? As this is your first post we need to know what's behind your comment.
  15. I'd be concerned about the security and hacking risks if it's true that a non-contact system can communicate with a cars systems to extract that sort of data. Black hat hackers are very often one step ahead of the white hat guys Fiat Chrysler recalls 1.4m vehicles
  16. I would say you best option is an OEM MIB2 unit and screen @pab567
  17. Definitely - even simple things like resetting the TPMS after correcting tyre pressures use the infotainment (or a scan tool).
  18. The unit in the glovebox is the intelligence, the screen is only that - a screen.
  19. There is a CAR menu that shows messages and allows you to change many settings (details are in the manual), any head unit not specificly designed for an Octavia 3 won't have this menu and as the infotainment is the only way of setting/checking them (Apart form a diagnostic tool) it's not wise to fit a head unit without this menu.
  20. Because no UK Government is actually serious about spending money on net zero - they want the vast majority of the costs to be borne by business and individuals. The reduction/withdrawal of subsidies and subsequent fines on car makers shows that all this Government care about is filling the alleged £22bn gap.
  21. Most likely an ABS wheel speed sensor problem, all those systems need accurate vehicle speed. You need a fault code scan done to get the details.
