Infotainment Firmware Updates & More
New maps for the MIB1 AMundsen stopped being made available in 2021 - 5 years after the MIB1 Amundsen was last fitted to a new car in production. If you enter your VIN into the Skoda Portal you will see the latest available maps.

Key Fob Synchronisation?
Note I said physically unlock (i.e. by sliding the cover on the door handle and using the actual physical key) this is for when the remote doesn't work.

Skoda Octavia 2014 4x4, rear diff or Haldex
Did you also clean the Haldex filter? That would have shown/collected any debris.
-
BCM module
A VCDS scan will show you the BCM part number. Here's what it shows on my 2016 L&K: Component Protection removal requires access to the Skoda servers, so can only be done by a dealer or an independent with online access to them.

Still here
Nerd point - the only Quattro is THE Quattro, all other AWD/4WD Audis are badged quattro.

Key Fob Synchronisation?
I've heard that if you physically unlock the car with the spare key then put it in the ignition and press the unlock button it will resync the rolling code?

mEHV cold starts using 48V or 12V battery?
I read your question as ANY 12V battery!
-
mEHV cold starts using 48V or 12V battery?
The 12V battery is required for all the 12V systems in the car - lights, infotainment system, heater fan, central locking, alarm, etc.

Mk3 Rear seats folding
Not just the vRS, it's the same on my L&K and my previous Elegance.
-
Mk3 Rear seats folding
The centre section of the rear seat base stands slightly higher, this is how they all are.

Bolero MIB1 upgrade (after bigger screen)
When I looked into a bigger screen for a MIB1 Amundsen I was told that none of the bigger screens will work due to the different screen resolutions, and vice-versa that the MIB2 & MIB2.5 units wouldn't work with the smaller MIB1 style screen.

Skoda Octavia 2014 4x4, rear diff or Haldex
Correct, the Quattro (note the upper case Q) had a Torsen centre diff - as did the early A4, A6, etc quattro (not the lower case q) versions. Later A4, A6, etc.versions switched to Haldex to lower emissions.

Are 2024 FL models also NX?
Unlikely, in the past facelift changes have always taken place when the factory has its summer shutdown and on reopening builds facelifts with the new Model year VIN.

Skoda Superb 2016 Active Package Headlight Change
Your text is so huge it takes multiple scrolls to even start reading it! Please use a more sensible font size...

Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update
I doubt it, my 2016 Amundsen doesn't have WiFi so I've had to add a CarPlay2Air plugged into the USB to get wireless CarPlay.

Are 2024 FL models also NX?
NX is the platform code, since the facelift is still the same platform it too has NX in the VIN.

the truth about electric cars
Is that true of all plastics? I understood that thermoset plastics could not be reused - but I'm happy to be corrected.

the truth about electric cars
Even when nobody in the world is burning petroleum based fuels we will still need lubricants and the base materials for plastics (even when we have got rid of all single use plastics). Since even so called synthetic oils are still based on crude oil distillates there will still be a market, albeit a much smaller one, for countries to extract crude oil and gas from the ground.

Rear Washer - Something a Little Different!
I've had a couple of occasions after a service when the dealer has added Audi/Skoda screen wash that a couple of weeks later a screen wash nozzle has blocked when the Skoda/Audi screen wash has reacted with the Holts screen wash I use to form what I can best describe as 'gloop'.

VCDS or Maxidot display, which to believe?
... and it's most definitely NOT cheap!!!

Probably moving to an Audi A4 (update 21/03/25 - or will it be a Roomster?...)
I did have one diesel B6 A4 (a 1.9TDi Sport GmbH Avant) - I remember there always being some residual vacuum that took several presses of the brake pedal to 'use up'. Sounds most like a vacuum leak or faulty non-return valve to me - but you've checked those, and if the brake pedal does gain assistance when the engine is running I *think* that rules out a faulty vacuum pump or servo diaphragm (but I could be wrong). BTW I did once manage an average of 75mpg on a tank of normal diesel, but I was driving 'like a granny' ๐

AA - CarPlay Wirelss Sop Working
WiFi turned off in car and/or phone? Wireless AA and CP need WiFi as well as Bluetooth.

I've owned several B6/B7 A4/S4/RS4 and they all had hydraulic PAS.

VCDS or Maxidot display, which to believe?
That doesn't surprise me, if the software developers in the instrument cluster and BCM don't talk to each other then the instrument cluster can incorrectly interpret the fault code from the BCM. VAG software is a nightmare, even more so in the most recent models where development of much of it has been outsourced ๐คจ

VCDS or Maxidot display, which to believe?
VCDS is the new name for Vagcom (after VW threatened Ross-Tech with copyright infringement for using the letter combination V.A.G) so no Vagcom/VCDS has never been official VAG software. It's been written independently by Ross-Tech from the very beginning.
