  1. My 2016 has halogen number plate lamps from the factory, even though it has the highline LED rear light clusters.
  2. So long as yours is a 2016 model and not an early 2015 model that was in stock for a while.... Best to ask @pab567 giving the part number of your infotainment main unit 5Q0035864A to be sure.
  3. 2016 is most likely a MIB2 as the changeover happened in late spring 2015.
  4. The factory fit normal, non LED, bulbs on a Mk3
  5. Nothing beats an "Italian tune" for cleaning out a VAG engine without taking it apart.
  6. You have an amzing talent for taking threads "off piste" (in this case taking a discussion about electric aircraft and posting about electric buses) and then when people respond to your "off piste" post (as I did in the quoted post) making it seem like the other person was the one who took it "off piste"? In the last few days ALL my posts in this thread have been related to electric aircraft despite your attempty to confuse the discussion with electric buses and HGVs.
  7. Interesting, but I was posting about aircraft and you're posting about buses and HGVs - so we're posting about different things?
  8. The lock mechanism is between the inner and outer wings, and there are plenty of openings in the inner wing.
  9. Which is what @Winston_Woof has already said, but for long haul flights to expect electric aircraft of the passenger capacity needed by commercial airlines in the short term is unrealistic, certainly not going to happen by 2030.
  10. Never knew that Show Toll Roads existed 🤯 I often use that stretch of the a419...
  11. And an electric bus is not the right horse for an intercontinental course, So while the development and deployment of electric buses is great for UK travel it's not relevant for most aircraft journeys which involve travel over water to a holiday destination (Tenerife, Corfu, Bahamas, Australia, etc.) The testing and approval process for large passenger aircraft is rightly arduous since there are so many lives at stake.
  12. I'm pretty sure this has been asked and answered before, and that it's for the factory to check the boot is watertight.
  13. The ESC and TPMS errors should clear after some more driving, it's normal for them to appear after disconnecting the battery. The airbag error needs a code scan done to determine which part of the airbag system has a problem.
  14. There is no fuse for the airbag light, you need to get someone to do a diagnostic scan and see what's causing it to light. Often a loose/poor connection under one of the front seats... But don't do any work on the airbag system with the battery connected!!!!!!!
  15. OK, that's a MIB2 SD card (prefix 5L0) but that's not a problem (I used both MIB1 and MIB2 SD cards on my previous MIB1 so long as I installed MIB1 maps). The latest maps available for a MIB1 Amundsen are STD1_P94_EU_202021 i.e 2020/21 maps (5 years after the MIB1 went out of production). I've just entered the VIN of my previous Octavia onto the Skoda update portal and it showed me those maps. It downloads a .zip file which you then have to unzip and copy only the folder "markets" and (if present) the DBInfo.txt file onto the SD card (not the zip file).
  16. You're over thinking this... The part number you have shown is a MIB1 Amundsen, which has all the software to display maps - this is confirmed by the "Please insert data media with navigation data" message, which wouldn't appear if the software to read maps wasn't present. Have you downloaded maps for a MIB1 or MIB2? A MIB1 unit cannot read MIB2 maps, and I suspect you may have downloaded MIB2 maps? Please post a photo of the SD card you are using.
  17. You're asking about maps - so why is the Skoda Update site only offering maps a problem - I don't understand?
  18. They have a different card ID, if you have the special software that can change the card ID then you could use a 'normal' SD card after modifying it - but seriously there are so many Skoda/VW SD cards on eBay as sensible prices IMHO it just isn't worth the cost and hassle. Just checked on eBay and there are over a dozen at prices from £14 up...
  19. ... or an independent with ODIS online access to the Skoda servers.
  20. I've had MIB1 and MIB2 Amundsens, I've always got my Skoda SD cards off eBay (other auction sites are available) - these are a fraction of the cost of the SD cards from a Skoda dealer. Then formatted them, downloaded the map files using links on here and always worked for me.
  21. Does is say that it meets the relevant VW spec?
  22. It doesn't work that way, the information that makes the SD card into a Skoda one cannot be deleted by a Format.
  23. AFAIK the unlock with a key blade is a purely mechanical unlock with no electrical unlock signal being generated.
