  1. Sounds like a problem with the headlight positioning motor on the drivers side. Best get a fault code scan done with VCDS or OBDeleven.
  2. Yep, it's not activated by default as it's a chargeable SwAP feature.
  3. Interesting that the title in the manual is "Change bulb for fog light switch" when actually it's nothing to do with the switch, it's the actual fog light bulb!
  4. It's not unknown for the cable to the A5 camera to go faulty, it's reported quite often on the Ross-Tech VCDS forum?
  5. Press the MENU button (bottom right), then scroll the horizontal list of options that appears until CarPlay (which looks just like a large Play button) is in the middle then click on it. If your iPhone is plugged into the USB socket CarPlay will connect, then press the symbol at the bottom right of the screen (a set of small blocks) as I said before.
  6. Removing her from your insurance will probably increase the premium if you remain as the only driver.
  7. When in CarPlay press the symbol at the bottom right of the screen (a set of small blocks).
  8. Sounds like the front radar could be out of alignment if it's detecting a vehicle effectively in the lane to your left as being in front.
  9. SFD2 is a new "protection" scheme from VW, it makes it impossible to even scan modules for faults without a trick. The latest release of VCDS has a workaround to be able to scan modules, but not yet to be able to change settings which are locked by SFD (they're working on it but VW moves at a glacial speed). Maybe the answer is to scan using the latest VCDS, but then make changes using OBDeleven which does have an SFD unlock mechanism?
  10. Simple answer, none. Every headunit needs to know the setup of the car it's being installed in which means it needs coding and adaptation to be checked/changed. Some people, such as @pab567, can make the changes before they ship the headunit to you. Any Halogen bulb that is a direct physical fit (even the extra bright ones) won't need coding changes, if you replace them with LED (check the legality of that in Ireland) then adaptation channel changes will be needed to tell the car that you have fitted LEDs.
  11. Have you actually sat in the car and seen it for yourself after the dealer 'fix'? Yes, I'm suspicious of what dealer staff say!
  12. So the orange light has gone but the cruise still doesn't work? Is the cruise stalk pushed fully away from you, turning it off? Try pulling the cruise stalk towards you.
  13. That symbol in orange with an exclamation mark is very unlikely to appear without an error code being present, I suggest getting a scan done with VCDS or OBDeleven.
  14. Both - there is a diesel version of the RS, and also a non-RS diesel version. Since yours is a Scout then it's not an RS so I would suggest your insurers describe it as a CR - but you really should ring them to confirm.
  15. I was taught not to grip the gear lever but to cup an open hand around it in a way that 'suggests' to it the direction you want it to go. For 1st hand on the right rear, for 2nd hand on right front, for 3rd hand behind, for 4th hand in front, for 5th hand on the left rear and for 6th hand on the left front.
  16. EGR and DPF delete need a 'hack' to the engine ECU, some of those are done in such a way that some fault codes are suppressed - I suspect this could be why you're not seeing any codes.
  17. Individual drive mode has a setting screen (accessed by "Change" IIRC), have you changed the settings in that screen?
  18. When was the fully charged battery put back on the car? Several hours before an attempted start, or immediately before? I'm not suggesting battery - I'm suggesting something is staying on when it shouldn't.
  19. Have you tried measuring the battery voltage first thing in the morning before starting the car? I'm wondering if something isn't turning off?
  20. Depends what year the S3 is - I had a brand new S3 in 1999, and that definitely was not MQB as MQB hadn't been designed then!
  21. Did you delete the original files from the SD card (i always do a backup onto a PC first), then unzip the downloaded new maps first before copying the unzipped files to the SD card?
  22. Did you download the correct maps for your system (MIB1 Amundsen?)? Are you using a genuine Skoda SD card?
  23. Modern cars have a huge number of embedded "PCs" in them, often 30 or more! - so it should be no surprise that they often behave like PCs.
