Only the vRS has two fog light bulbs, all other models have a single fog light bulb (which also acts as the cornering light).

IIRC there's a switch in the latch that detects when the tailgate is fully closed, if that switch is faulty or misaligned then the rear wiper won't work and the tailgate will show incorrectly on the dash display.

The solar sunroof was also offered on the B6/B7 Audi A4/S4/RS4 - I nearly ordered one as a factory option until I realised that you don't get light coming through it like a normal sunroof. Just make sure the VCDS cable you buy IS genuine not a clone, if it's too cheap then 99.999999999% it's a clone!

Do you have kessy? If you don't have kessy then the car has no means of knowing whether the key is inside or outside the car.

If there is a leaking injector then the excess diesel can get past the piston rings and then into the sump, diluting the oil.

I've never noticed the brake drying have any noticeable effect on vehicle speed.

Then it's just the standard halogen tail lights - the Elegance doesn't have anything different.

+1 On my Toyota Aygo petrol there were 3 battery sizes - petrol, diesel and cold climate diesel - each getting larger and higher Ah and CCA. hen the battery needeing replacing I fitted the cold climate diesel battery as I had fitted a fairly power hungry ICE upgrade.

What type of rear lights do you have - halogen, LED low or LED high?

Could this be worked around by using a VPN?

That's not unusual - my previous 1.4 Octavia had a battery smaller than the tray but was the correct battery for the car as the tray is sized for the largest battery needed for all engine sizes/types. So just because the battery is smaller than the tray doesn't mean it's the wrong battery.

Do you have a fault code scanner, such as VCDS or OBD11? It would be useful to see if there are any fault codes related to braking etc.

Is that a plug'n'play direct replacement?

On my previous estate which was an Elegance they were the standard all halogen tail lights. IIRC there are 3 types of tail light - halogen, LED low and LED high - fitted to various different models and years.

IMHO at the very least there should be an emergency manual release - like on my ex's Mk1 Fabia where you could access the lock via an access hatch in the boot.

Do you have ACC or Front Assist? The symptoms sound to me like it could be the front radar believing something is too close in front and applying the brakes?

Exactly my point, this isn't a DVLA Safety Critical Recall (despite the possibility of unncesssary injury to the driver) so Skoda won't be getting driver details from DVLA.

The UK Government, and even more so the NHS, does not have a great history of designing decent IT systems - so I won't be holding my breath for this to happen!

The difference is that it is described in Israel as a "recall" but in the UK it is just a "recall campaign" not a "safety recall", so there is no legal requirement on Skoda to inform owners. My L&K falls in the affected VIN range but since I'm not the original purchaser and I didn't purchase it through a Skoda dealer Skoda UK do not know I am the owner so are unable to write to me!

What concerns me is what are the Police going to do with (likely) all the videos sent to them, I suspect most of them will just sit in an inbox due to lack of resources to check them - which means the ones that are worthy of warning/prosecution will get lost in the mass of those sent in by someone annoyed by someone else doing something perfectly legal. Seems like it's a good idea but only IF properly resourced, which given the cutbacks on Police spending isn't going to happen IMHO.
