The 280PS Thread
Mine does, but I do a LOT of very short journeys. Mind you, only around a 1/4 ltr. in 2/3k.

Yep, you know this to be true, Lee!

Since I moved to an excellent Indy, it’s had Mobil 1 FS 0W-40 which meets VW 502 00.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Washed the 280 for the first time in a couple of months. Bloody Sahara dust. It’d stopped beading so it needed a new coating of ceramic wax. I use Turtle Wax Ceramic. I also replaced the air quality sensor with a Chinese “copy” (are they, or are they actually pattern parts?) unit I bought from Ali two or three years ago, as I knew it’d fail at some point. I think it was £13, maybe less. Anyway it works perfectly.

Seat Memory Unit
So, an update. On Tuesday afternoon I was going to change the air quality sensor so, as I always do when changing something, I disconnected the battery. Unfortunately, I ran out of time, so I left the battery disconnected overnight. I replaced the sensor and reconnected the battery in the morning and cleared the normal illuminations on the dash. After about 15 mins of driving, I heard the confirmation “bong” for something and my seat then moved to my saved driving position. No idea if the battery disconnection reset the seat module, especially as it’s probably not a permanent live unit. Still, it’s up-and-running again so that’s a ridiculous sum saved for a new or used module and a contortionist job avoided to replace it!

Unfortunately, I don’t but thanks for the offer. 🙏

Seat Memory Unit
Nope, I want to get the memory seat working again, specifically for easy entry as that helps a bit with my back. Tried the usuals but no luck so I’m guessing it’s busted.

Seat Memory Unit
Would someone be able to confirm if I need a specific part number for the seat memory unit or will they all work? (Once linked to the car I suspect?). And if someone could pet me know where is the unit located, that too would be great.

Always used 97/99 or an octane booster when E10 was the only available product. 95% it’s Tesco Momentum.

Steering wheel right hand down
I had the same issue, except it was down on the left. It drove me absolutely insane for months and I spent a small fortune on alignment, realignment and re-realignment. I then inadvertently swapped the two fronts after removing them to clean them properly and it disappeared. This is no guarantee it’ll work for anyone else but it did for me.

Rear Windscreen Wiper stopping mid stroke
Yes, I have. I had exactly the same issue, starting a few ago, except it managed to get 3/4 of the way through the arc. Bloody annoying. I fixed it by raising the blade, switched on the ignition and left it running for an hour whilst I washed the wheels. Yeah, I know, but they were filthy! I think the contacts in the motor had become contaminated/dirty given lack of use and running it for a decent period did the trick. Worth a try anyway.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
So the 280 is now 10 years old with 56k and everything works at it should. It passed the MOT yesterday. Three advisories; 1. The rear pads are low. Knew they are. 2. Front tyres under inflated; they weren’t - 2.6 bar on both and 3. The Oil level is at minimum: err, nope. It’s just below maximum. Brilliant!

69 plate superb service advice
How can this be? My 2016 280 has 55k and it’s still has at least 5k miles on the front and rear pads; the discs are almost unmarked.

High Beam Light Assist
Works perfectly on our 2016 (oh wow - it’s 10 years old!!) 280!

Car heater stuck on full
When it stays on, is it switched to the Auto setting? If so, can you try turning it to manual when you do the procedure you mentioned and see if that allows you to control it manually? I’m not absolutely certain, but I think I read the heating / AC unit in the dash is fully self contained, so if there is an issue with the control system, that has to be changed. However, that might be subconsciously invented and therefore complete boolocks!

Led bulbs
In the U.K., they’re not and an MOT failure.

Superb issues...
Have you had an ABS or battery failure? I’ve had both and I can tell you, they do give all the warnings shown in this thread.
-
Superb issues...
Yes. Can I suggest you get the car scanned by a reputable VAG specialist, cos they’ll have the equipment and, more importantly, lots of grey hair to identify these issues….

Lane Assist - Coding
I can’t access the imgur link. Can I ask where are you located? Does your vehicle model have the correct hardware to enable the lane assist function? If it does, where did you obtain the coding? Are you using a genuine Rosstech VCDS cable?
