  1. Nope, I want to get the memory seat working again, specifically for easy entry as that helps a bit with my back. Tried the usuals but no luck so I’m guessing it’s busted.
  2. Would someone be able to confirm if I need a specific part number for the seat memory unit or will they all work? (Once linked to the car I suspect?). And if someone could pet me know where is the unit located, that too would be great.
  3. Created a specific post…
  4. The seat memory unit has gone kaput in the last couple of days… more bloody expense.
  5. Always used 97/99 or an octane booster when E10 was the only available product. 95% it’s Tesco Momentum.
  6. Me too; it wasn’t! I knew the unit was OK as it completed the arc when I turned the wiper off and on again, so a dirty contact causing it to loose power was my thought. Good idea on removing the arm and leaving it on. 👏🏻
  7. Bought mine for £3.99 of eBay. Perfect fit and it’s exactly the same as the AA branded one at £29.99 (or there abouts!)…
  8. I had the same issue, except it was down on the left. It drove me absolutely insane for months and I spent a small fortune on alignment, realignment and re-realignment. I then inadvertently swapped the two fronts after removing them to clean them properly and it disappeared. This is no guarantee it’ll work for anyone else but it did for me.
  9. Yes, I have. I had exactly the same issue, starting a few ago, except it managed to get 3/4 of the way through the arc. Bloody annoying. I fixed it by raising the blade, switched on the ignition and left it running for an hour whilst I washed the wheels. Yeah, I know, but they were filthy! I think the contacts in the motor had become contaminated/dirty given lack of use and running it for a decent period did the trick. Worth a try anyway.
  10. So the 280 is now 10 years old with 56k and everything works at it should. It passed the MOT yesterday. Three advisories; 1. The rear pads are low. Knew they are. 2. Front tyres under inflated; they weren’t - 2.6 bar on both and 3. The Oil level is at minimum: err, nope. It’s just below maximum. Brilliant!
  11. How can this be? My 2016 280 has 55k and it’s still has at least 5k miles on the front and rear pads; the discs are almost unmarked.
  12. Works perfectly on our 2016 (oh wow - it’s 10 years old!!) 280!
  13. When it stays on, is it switched to the Auto setting? If so, can you try turning it to manual when you do the procedure you mentioned and see if that allows you to control it manually? I’m not absolutely certain, but I think I read the heating / AC unit in the dash is fully self contained, so if there is an issue with the control system, that has to be changed. However, that might be subconsciously invented and therefore complete boolocks!
  14. In the U.K., they’re not and an MOT failure.
  15. Have you had an ABS or battery failure? I’ve had both and I can tell you, they do give all the warnings shown in this thread.
  16. Yes. Can I suggest you get the car scanned by a reputable VAG specialist, cos they’ll have the equipment and, more importantly, lots of grey hair to identify these issues….
  17. Then that could be your issue.
  18. I can’t access the imgur link. Can I ask where are you located? Does your vehicle model have the correct hardware to enable the lane assist function? If it does, where did you obtain the coding? Are you using a genuine Rosstech VCDS cable?
  19. Hmmmm… well, OK, albeit they’re not OE. I’d like to see them fitted and working.
  20. Can I ask; who changed the all the ABS sensors? The reason is that I find it strange that the symptoms you’re experiencing are identical to many others who’ve commented - including ours too and in these cases it was found to be a failed (yep, the NSR) ABS sensor. The fault is intermittent; in our case it first occurred departing a ferry in NI. It repeated itself 1/2 dozen times on the 100 mile drive to our destination but then didn’t do it again for a couple of days. It went on like that for the rest of the stay, but on the trip home on the M6/40/25, it did it countless times.
  21. Also, IMO the available Chinese aftermarket “dynamic” door mirror units are terrible and AFAIK, there are no OE offerings.
  22. I got the cheap ones from eBay or Ali - can’t remember which - about four years ago and they fit perfectly.
  23. Sawtoothing on rear tyres?
  24. Ta. I’ll check mine in that case. Good excuse anyway as I’ve just finished whizzing up my VCDS laptop, a Dell E6410 with a 1tb SSD, upgraded to 8gb RAM and a fresh install of genuine Win 10 Pro. Total cost was £68. Absolutely flies now. Used to take 4 mins to boot, now it’s 35 seconds. VCDS takes about 10 secs to load.
  25. Incidentally, does one get a dash warning to say the sensor has failed? If no, how does one know it’s failed?
