  1. I've been please with Bilstein B6 but run standard springs. You should go B8 or coilovers to run lowered springs
  2. As soon as I read it, I was thinking carbon build up or injectors, but have you used genuine injectors? Without sounding rude you didn't get them off ebay or anything
  3. Looks like they accidentally charged for one litre of dsg oil, not 5 or 6!
  4. Dsg I guess? You need to undo the dog bone mount and lever the engine forwards or use tool t10533
  5. It'll have an engine code on it. Three letters. 1.8t from a vRS is AUQ. The guy is talking nonsense. Any 1.8t can be tuned. Just use a reputable tuner, one with a rolling road preferably
  6. 70nm + 90° ONLY if the 12 sided bolt has ribs on the rear. A smooth rear 12 sided bolt is 200nm + 180°
  7. Plugs are easy d.i.y I just can't recall the socket size. Buy some new ones from ecp or similar to find the right size socket. Get a spark plug specific one and an extension. It's just a case of unplugging the coil packs and lifting them out.
  8. If it's not the plug or coil then could be the injector. But before you spend money, at least make sure the wiring/connector to coil 3 looks ok.
  9. Don't even bother trying with a 1/2 breaker bar, get a 3/4. The initial torque should be done wheel off the ground, then lower the car to do the 180° (will help to apply handbrake). 3/4 is useful for the fronts also 200nm +180°
  10. Might be worth finding a company that can build you one, have you tried topgear.com (Dorset) they may be able to post you one out?
  11. The two inboard bolts are eccentric and will need alignment
  12. They contain grease to protect the joint, which is why they have a rubber boot. Non genuine normally need a spanner to hold the joint to enable the nut to be tightened. This normally forces the boot off the metal ring causing failure. Genuine or lemforder use a spline on the end to hold the joint, a much better method to tighten the nut up
  13. Check the wiring in the driver door hinge behind the rubber. The crash sensor lives in the driver's door of the MK2 and a broken wire fires the airbag light. Normal opening/closing of the door wears through the wires.
  14. Air leak somewhere, take the pcv off and check for splits. Could also be a split hose
  15. What issues do you have? Buy a cheap vag code reader if you dont have one. You'll probably have the CCZA engine code if it's a facelift MK2 vrs
  16. Tfsi is belt and chain driven. The tsi is only chain driven. The mk5 golf GTI and pre face lift octavia 2 use the tfsi. The mk6 golf GTI and facelift use the tsi.
  17. Does it do it with clutch in? If so could be fly wheel or something is loose and vibrating?
  18. Yes, torque and X amount of degrees normally means stretch bolts and needs renewal
  19. What year is your car? Tensioner was mainly a problem from 2009-2012. Have a look on YouTube for 'four rings auto' which shows several videos of strip down of the timing area, mainly Audi's but there is one of a Mk6 GTi (same car). Try to get your car recovered to a VAG specialist.
