Mine only get used when I need to do quick an overtake. Using the left paddle to drop a couple of gears feels marginally quicker than using the kick down. Holding the right paddle then puts the car back to whatever drive mode it was in before. tom

Isn't there something in the menus where you can set up that the doors lock when a certain speed is reached? Try turning this off and see what it does. After a while see how it goes then turn it back on. tom

Same happened to me. No problem with the dealer he gave me another. But check the replacement fits. Mine was the 'standard' Skoda umbrella carried by dealers, it did not fit in the underseat storage. I just left it, life's too short for chasing umbrellas. tom

My 2018 SeL has the removable bootlight/torch that was deleted on later models. I'm not sure but it's in my mind that the paddle shift was also deleted. tom

Thanks for your unhelpful reply. There is a big difference between your post implying I am stupid and saying something along the lines "there are various replies in Google". For your information I am not looking for replies for Fabias Octavias or Superbs. It would be nice if someone who had done it on a Karoq would give me some helpful advice especially as airbags are involved. I am fed up reading your acerbic replies. If you can't say something useful then....... I'm blocking you.

Nothing came up when I searched per the topic title. I have broken mine on a 2019 model year Karoq. How do I replace the plastic holder? It looks like I have to remove the A pillar trim but what about the airbag? Any instructions/advice? tom

Tyres make a difference. OEM Bridgestones were not good. There are reports that Cross Climates are better. I have Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons which are also good. tom

aas - Am I reading this right you bought the car at 28000 miles and now approx 18/19 months later you have done 7000 miles. That is not optimum usage for a modern diesel with dpf and egr. I previously had a diesel Yeti that never missed a beat until the post emissions scandal fix. It started having problems with the dpf regeneration and the egr. If I detected a regeneration taking place (usually at or towards the end of a journey) I would then keep driving using a lower gear on a dual carriageway, keeping the revs up to ensure the regen finished. Aborted regenerations are a problem in waiting. The car's original egr failed and was replaced under the 2 year post fix egr warranty. Two years later, with my annual mileage substantially reducing (i.e. to around 5,000 miles a year from a previous over 15,000) and coming to the end of the second egr warranty I did not want to risk a second failure so I traded it for a petrol Karoq. The diesel Yeti was the best car I ever owned ...up until the emissions fix screwed things up. I think the problem is that diesel technology has still not yet caught up with low mileage use. When I was looking to replace the Yeti I only had one car salesman warn me about low mileage diesel usage and that was at a Land Rover dealership. tom

Check for tyre cracking. If you are looking for an excuse all 4 of my Bridgestones had significant cracking at under 5 years old and mileage at 20,000. The relatively low mileage was probably a factor in the cracking. Bit late for you now but my local tyre dealer could get nowhere near the Asda price and they were Asda's fitting agent! tom

I got this from a thread regarding the "sticking flap" problem. The thread seems to be about a Superb but the diagram looks similar to the Karoq filler. The drain hose looks like a push fit in this diagram. Could you reinsert from the top and then squirt some water down it to see where it comes out? The interesting bit is the instruction "Pull the drain hose -4- out of the unit.". It seems to imply that putting it back is just a reverse of the procedure. +1 for Asda. I bought four tyres and the dealer who fitted them could get nowhere near the Asda price . tom

My Start/Stop rarely works due to the usage the car gets. No warning however. The car charges the battery when other power demands are low. S/S needs a battery with a good state of charge. Also charging is often on overrun. I did a 130 mile journey last week and surprise surprise the S/S returned. Back to my normal short journeys and it disappears. You could try putting the battery on a charger and see if a fully charged battery clears the message. tom
