As per the number, 2.5 mm as against 3.2mm. tom

Do a search on this forum for "Moll" (with or without quotes). There have been problems in the past. tom

I'm sure my 2018 SeL DSG has Launch Control. Never tried it, however. This is what the Manual says: "The launch control function is available in mode S or Tiptronic. › Disable the TCS » page 214, Braking and stabilisation systems. › Fully depress and hold the brake pedal with your left foot. › Fully depress the accelerator pedal with your right foot. › Release the brake pedal - the vehicle is running at maximum acceleration." The previous anti cloning procedure (before the key with a motion sensor), locking with the button on the key fob and then touching the sensor within 5 seconds, disables the Kessy unlocking. In this case you have to unlock with the key fob. Just a thought. tom

I had problems when I first got my Karoq. I found I was inadvertently touching the front of the handle (the locking bit) when I was putting my fingers on it to unlock it. tom

Start/Stop system no longer shuts engine off when stopping

Is yours a manual? If so another possibility is that the car has stalled. Are there any fault codes? tom -

In a 2wd car the general advice is for the new tyres go on the rear. tom

Start/Stop system no longer shuts engine off when stopping
Sanqhar replied to FabFabFabia's topic in Skoda Karoq
My 2018 is like this most of the time. The battery charges when other demands on the engine are low e.g. on overun. My journeys are usually short so the battery is rarely fully charged. If I do a decent run then the start/stop reappears. Get the fault codes checked. Tom -
Eco mode softens the throttle response. tom

Recommends Windows OS! What if you have Mac OS? tom

The boot will open if you have the key in your pocket. Does your key have a motion sensor? If so once the key has not moved for a short while it turns itself off thus protecting it from being read by a thief's scanner from outside the house. If no key movement sensor then to disable Kessy lock the car with the key button and within 5 seconds touch the door sensor. The car can only then be unlocked with the key button. tom

Many years ago I had, arranged by work, an accompanied drive with an ex police Class 1 instructor. One thing he told me was that automatic cars had fewer "rear enders". Why? Because the brake lights were on. Make of that what you will. tom

Would phoning Skoda get you the answer? tom

Are you sure the current spec SeL includes heated front seats? Skoda change the spec all the time. My SeL has the torch in the boot, current ones don't. tom

Before buying tyres make sure to check out Asda prices. I saved a substantial amount of money. Remarkably the tyres were fitted by a local tyre dealer who could get nowhere near the Asda price. tom

Timpsons? tom

Yes it does achieve the same effect but not so instant as the paddles. tom

Take it back to the dealer. See what they say. tom

+1 re the paddles. My chosen country road overtake is to drop two gears using the left paddle and then when I am done just hold the right paddle for a second and it goes back to the previous driving mode. tom

I have never had any warning of imminent key battery failure. My dealer changes the battery as a matter of course at each annual service. Battery failure is not a disaster. It happened to my wife when away from home. She phoned me and I talked her through the procedure to sort it out. It's in the Manual. Prise off the small cover on the underneath of the door handle. This reveals the key 'slot' then unlock the door the old fashioned way. This will set off the car alarm. Get in the car and press the starter button using the body of the key not your finger. This latter bit might take more than one attempt. tom

Noticed the lack of traffic information recently on my 2018 SeL. I don't hit traffic problems that often however I ventured into Essex, near Southend on Sunday and ended up with delays and roadworks on the A12. Nothing showed on the Nav screen. Just checked the car and... Radio>Advanced Settings>Dab Traffic Announcements is greyed out Nav>Map> Traffic Flow Setting is greyed out. I'll raise at at the next service that is due now. tom
