I live in Suffolk and yesterday made a trip northwards into the wild Norfolk countryside. Nearing Norfolk's major town I realised that the Satnav voice had adopted a regional accent. Norwich would normally be pronounced similar to how it is written "nor-witch". However I realised the Satnav lady was saying "nar-witch". Simply clever! tom

At my age I have a similar problem. tom

Just checked the Manual. Never seen this "no passenger" bit with the seat(s) folded before ("Warning" on Page 37). What is interesting is that if you just remove the centre seat and then move the outer seats inward then that is not a problem, see Page 38. It says nothing about carrying a passenger with just one or two seats removed. tom

I forked out for the (expensive) Skoda electric tow bar soon after we bought our '68 SEL. Had it fitted by my local dealer. It hasn't affected any of the electrics. I assume that "city braking" is whereto car jams on the brakes if it thinks you are going to hit something No problem in normal driving without the trailer, it still works, usually when I am reversing too close to bushes in a car park. It is certainly disabled when the car is towing something. It never occurred to me to test it when I last used the clamp on bike carrier. Logic would assume that plugging in the light bar is the "trigger" to disable the revering sensors. Being well past my "threescore......" the electric tow bar is a revelation, no more grovelling on hands and knees to fit the tow ball bit into its socket. tom

Key fob batteries can fail without warning. My dealer replaces the battery in the key fob as a matter of course at each annual service. Different makes of battery last differently. General view favours Panasonic. This is not a big problem, I managed to talk my wife through the procedure over the phone. Put simply, use the key to prise off the small cover on the drivers door handle this exposes the door lock, manually open with the key (alarm may or may not sound) then press the start button with the fob. Sometimes it takes a couple of attempts to get it to work. There are posts about this, do a search. tom

It's all in the owner's manual, if you can find it! tom

Do a search on this forum. There are Italian bars for under £30 with a more than adequate load rating that will fit. tom edit: Found the post I was thinking of.

I thought that only applied to the centre seat. Next time I'm in the car I will try on the other two. tom

Mine is the same engine and and DSG and that's what I would expect. I have to consciously work at it to get it up above 42 mpg. I have never reached 50. The only time I could get it to a regular high 40's was when there was a long stretch of the A14 past Cambridge with a 40mph limit. tom

Let me first apologise, I know all about RTFM the problem is at my age I find it hard. I have the SD Card version of the SatNav (MIB 2?). I understand that it can remember journeys that later can then be used as routes. Have I got this right, if so how do I do I save the journey and then how do I later use it as a route? Thanks tom

Leaving an old iPhone in boot of Karoq as a cheap tracker
Sanqhar replied to Mark-Surrey's topic in Skoda Karoq
Just wire the phone through a switched relay then you can place it anywhere in the car. As an aside, if my iPhone needs charging and I am away from home I will leave it plugged in the car overnight. I've not yet had a problem. tom -
My Karoq is not WiFi enabled but when I have used my Iphone as a hotspot for other computers this is the sequence (as used on my iPhone 8). <Settings> <Personal Hotspot> <Allow Others to Join>. Make active Once I make it active I then get the second machine to search for the iPhone. I then enter the phones Wi-Fi password on the second machine to connect. I have only needed to do this once for my iPad, afterwards it connects automatically. Logic says that after you have enabled the hotspot on the phone you need to get the car to search for the phone and take it from there. Remember you are getting the car to use the phones hotspot not getting the phone to use the SIM enabled cars hotspot. Good luck. tom

When kangarooing was an issue (don't hear so much of it nowadays) it was mainly on manual cars. It appeared that somehow the DSG's were less affected. tom

If it's online only can't you take screen prints/grabs of the bits you need? tom

Thanks At my age I am used to lots of things being cleverer than me. It comes to all of us eventually. tom

I must be doing something wrong. I want to create a custom route. from my home "A" via a village on a particular road "B" to my destination "C". The satnav offers me the usual three choices, red green and orange none of which go via the route I want to take. I cannot see how to "shape" the route to what I want. I then thought that I would just have to create the route from "A" to "B" and then create another route from "B" to my destination at "C". When I tried this the car only wanted to create the route from where I was parked i.e. "A". How then do I create the route from "B" to "C" when I am parked at "A"? My fix was to drive to "B" and while I was there then create the route to "C". Is it me or the car that is "Simply not Clever"? If I can't do this it looks like I will just have to dig out my 12 year old Garmin Zumo and relearn how to create the route I want. Help tom

Isn't ET50 is too much. I thought ET45 was the maximum. tom

Anyone fitted 19" all weather tyres on their Karoq?
Sanqhar replied to kodiaqsportline's topic in Skoda Karoq
My understanding is that an under reading speedo can't be legal. There is no leeway. The only legal leeway is for speedos that over read. tom -
Just keep in mind the cruise control is only interested in maintaining the set speed, nothing else. tom

Anyone tried Launch Control? Kodiak demo here: tom
