  1. Sorry, I thought it was a FL model, so post 2009. It's obviously a bit older so I don't know if it would be affected by the oil use issue. I think that problem started on the early FL 1.8 engine. For an older car perhaps £750 is more reasonable.
  2. What year is it? Early FL 1.8 suffered from engine design issues (see sticky thread) and could have excessive oil use issues as well as chain tensioner failure. £750 seems too good to be true, so be wary.
  3. Should swap no problem. Assuming vRS donor is also an estate.
  4. Could be your vent temperature sensor. Had this fail on two octys. The issue I had was that my passenger side always blew cold whatever it was set to and irrespective of driver side temp. If you can get the fault codes read, that would confirm. Although sensor is cheap the dash had to come out to access it.
  5. Bolero or Columbus shouldn't make any difference to the Bluetooth unit functionality.
  6. Antenna can be mounted in the dash behind the head unit. There's a metal bar by the bulkhead which can be used. Antenna will work fine from there. The unit you've got is a Columbus and as you've discovered it needs a new fascia. Lots of different versions exist at a wide variety of prices. You need one which is for pre face lift with navigation. Look at SuperSkoda on-line or ask at a dealer. I got one for my pre FL Scout so it was the same shape you need but silver. I'll see if I can dig out a part number though.
  7. Piece of the 'soft' half of Velcro looks tidy and very effective. I've noticed some manufacturers do that as standard. I just cut a piece to shape and stick on with a couple of dabs of superglue.
  8. One of the bulbs is the day running light. Others will have the detail but I think you need the dealer to activate them and then you can either have them in use or not, switching them on/ off using the headlight stalk. A search here may pull up a relevant thread as this has cropped up before.
  9. I'm no expert but is 52k for a clutch and flywheel not suspiciously early? Could this suggest the car has had a new engine at this time and these items replaced whilst engine was out? My Scout flywheel and clutch were done at 60k because the new engine went in then. For details on the issue of new engines see the sticky at the top of this forum.
  10. Online is handy for sure but I do order my parts/accessories over the phone. If you give them your vehicle reg. and describe what you're after they should be able to get the right thing. I'll have a look at mind and see if I can see a part number on it.
  11. As above. Quickest and easiest route is probably a dealer. I wouldn't expect that to be too expensive either. When I purchased my current Scout I noticed that bit missing. I pointed it out to the garage and they replaced it by the time I got the car a few days later.
  12. Fair play to the garage. Hopefully it'll all get sorted to your satisfaction.
  13. I had mine fitted by Skoda dealer and they chopped the pipes and welded the new tips on. Not had any issue with subsequent MoTs and wouldn't really see why there should be an issue. Very worthwhile mod.
  14. For sale: dash trim piece from 2010 Octy vRS with Bolero. As new. £15 inc. postage in uk. Apologies for upside down picture.
  15. From a 2010 Octavia vRS (manual - so not mfsw) I have for sale the steering wheel controller and airbag wiring. These are the original parts that were replaced when I fitted a MFSW. Not sure if they're worth anything but they're no good to me. £8 inc. postage in U.K.
  16. Welcome to Briskoda. You'll find a wealth of info on here about mods of all kinds. There's probably nothing that someone hasn't done and then discussed. And there's loads that you can do with an Octy.! Superskoda service seems very variable. Some report quick delivery and no issues, others have had problems with incorrect or damaged parts and then poor after sales care. Personally, I've only used a couple of times and all has been fine.
  17. The three major consequences you list are all standard consequences of fitting Columbus in an early Octy ( or Laura). Off the top of my head I can't remember all the details but 1 and 2 cannot be fixed through the head unit, if that can be sorted at all. But their absence seems a small price to pay for the much better head unit. The buttons issue may be fixable with a firmware fix/ change. It's definitely covered in previous threads on here because I had these same symptoms when I put a Columbus in my 2008 Octy a few years ago.
  18. As above, autoglym products are effective. Used them successfully for many years.
  19. Sounds like a good result but seems quite soon to have to change them. Perhaps due to low miles? My vRS was on its originals at 85k and the fronts were done at 70k and other Bridkodians have got more.
  20. Yes, mk2 Octy accelerator pedal is floor mounted. Probably same part that was in your golf. In the vRS and the Scout the pedal had a metal finish with rubber inserts. In other models I think it was just rubber.
  21. Mine (the silver vRS above) is on the red springs which were a Skoda accessory. Not sure whether these were pro or sport. Drop was said to be 20mm on the vRS IIRC.
  22. Do you mean the one next to the wing mirror or the one in the centre of the dash? I think the one in the centre is part of the top box assembly and the whole unit can be removed by prising it up from the front edge to release the clips. Its probably then possible to access the vent from behind.
