The 16Gb card you curently have is sduitable for the latest maps, Skoda lie... Alternatively, if you desperately want a 32Gb card I have one for sale.

People who've had a leaking sunroof will invariably be on the side of the fence which is reserved for people who don't want another sunroof. The other side of the fence will be populated by people who haven't had a leaking sunroof, or indeed haven't had a sunroof to leak but still have an opinion on the subject. Personally, I won't have another car with a sunroof so I won't have to suffer the massive condensation problems, the smell, the staining of the headlining, the pools of water in the passenger footwell after it rains etc.

My first Yeti had a sunroof. It leaked. I won't buy another car with a sunroof.

What I will say is if you want a Columbus or Amundsen then you'll need the whole glove box section I think, and then you'll have the possibility of fitting the unit in there. After that I dunno what else will be needed, but you might have enough space to fit an Amundsen 2 unit similar to the Yeti?

I'm told that I can expect broadband speeds upto 60Mb, but in reality I never get anywhere near that figure. Also, my mobile phone apparently will work in most areas surrounding my address because the maps & graphics on Vodafones website say so, but again in reality I have to stand on one leg and wave my phone in the air while facing east to get a signal. Who do I see about my cheque?

If you're looking for logic... Driving at town speeds it's logical to presume that you don't need to see a hundred yards ahead of you if traveling at 30mph or thereabouts, but it's more relevant to see the road at the drivers side towards the pavement so that you have a better chance of seeing someone stepping off the pavement and wandering into your path. The near side (passenger side) already points to that side by default, so not necessary. Once up to motorway speeds you're more likely to need to see further up the road due to the speed you're traveling, and in this situation the headlights aim further in front rather than to the side. I know, I had the same issue with the Octavia I had and it doesn't seem like a good idea in practice, in fact it annoyed me to the point I never used the lights in Auto function, mainly due to living in the country and hardly ever driving at night in town. But fact remains there's a reasonable explanation for the lights behaviour.

Well, I've had a few colour lasers over the past 12 - 15 years, and the Brother I have currently is the best of them all. Okay, it's the newest one clearly, but it's been the best for reliability and compact size.

Buy a scanner, buy a printer. I use a Brother laser printer, and I have a Canon scanner

As I said, from what I can gather V9 were the last maps produced for the Australian market. However, it seems as though they have released a new version just this year, judging by the link you provided there. V10 is the latest and most up to date genuine version. Note that there has possibly been a V10, V11, V12, V13 unofficial update over the past 4 years made from BMW maps and sold at silly money. It's also possible that some enterprising people have simply renamed the maps versions and have been selling "updates" which were essentially the same maps. So yes, that link provides a disc which might be genuine, but then again it might not. V9 was the last official version of RNS510 maps for Australia, since then VW haven't released any updates. The updates available to buy online (up to V13 apparently) are generated from BMW maps and converted to run on the RNS510, there's a requirement to downgrade from V9 to V8 prior to installing the later hacked versions too. The same BMW hack was used for Eastern Europe maps for the past few years until VW released a genuine version this year.

Yeah. that's the right unit for this thread at least. However, I see you're in Australia, and I'm not sure when the maps were last updated for your region. If you press and hold "Setup" until it cycles to the screen where it says "Version Information", touch this, and then scroll down to the bottom where it'll have the maps version listed, take a photo of this and pop it on here so at least I can see what you have. I'll try and find out what updates are available, but I'm not certain I can help much.

Yes, I suppose you can. I can think of a few situations where a USB can be used while an SD card is surplus to requirements, but I'm not sure there's much mileage in this argument.

Use a USB 32Gb flash drive. It works faster than an SD card and does the job just the same as an SD card.

The Haldex controller reads information from many sources. Steering angle, throttle position, wheel speed sensors, engine revs (and as such probably torque) and probably inclination & clutch pedal switch to try and give a predictive behaviour. So if you have steering angle, high revs and are intending pulling away quickly out of a junction then the Haldex will already be active. It won't be possible to put in a switch to give full rear wheel drive because it's still gonna be front wheel drive by default, so junless you find a way to disable the front wheel drive then you'll only ever get 50% rear at most.
