First AdBlue fill and it didn’t go to plan……..
You don’t have to fill it. Wait until it says nearly empty, about 150 miles left and put in half of a 10 litre container. Will go a long way until the other 5lt is needed.

Replacing our Karoq
My drive has a narrow point that all my previous cars have got through without issue. Eg Carlton, Mondeos, Peugeot 405, Audi coupe, Yetis, Superb mk1. However very tight with Karoq only an inch between drivers wing mirror and wall at narrowing to play with!

Hello!
Perhaps you were in the wrong gear when driving a manual? I have been surprised how often it stays in a lower gear than I would use, but is probably better for engine

Karoq 4x4 spare wheel kit
Sorry I just went to the Skoda parts department when I collected the car and they got it for me. I went back a couple of days late to collect it. Theoretically if you have the varioflex seats the riser kit won’t fit. It is intended for the other fixed seat option. However all you have to do is carefully cut slots out to allow access to the release handles.

Karoq 4x4 spare wheel kit
With the 4x4 that the post is about the skinny spare is the only option that will neatly fit in the boot and even that needs the floor riser kit. I have retro fitted this to mine but hope to never have to use it.

A few thoughts after it’s first wash!
I had this seating in 3 Yetis and it has been so useful over the years. Have even had all seats out of my Karoq several times when a van equivalent is needed. Fold the centre seat and you have an armrest with drink holders or a ski hatch which is much bigger than a pull out rest and small door.

A few thoughts after it’s first wash!
It is long enough, you just have to pull harder!

Mini USB ports - Karoq 21 registration
That would have been vacuum powered. I used to drive a 1962 Ford Thames minibus in 1970’s just after passing test that did this, wipers almost stopping at low revs.

Karoq aircondotioning
Air conditioning is good, if it is working. Many issues can stop it eg my sons Ford has no a/c as it had a stone hit the radiator allowing fluid to escape

Traffic sign controlling ACC??
Is this a new feature, as mine doesn’t alter set cruise control speed? Having said that I seem to recall a requirement for all cars to have automated limiters to the speed limit applying by a date not too far ahead?

A few thoughts after it’s first wash!
I wash mine every 3 months or so whether it needs it or not!

Electric tailgate doesn't work
I read somewhere that you can limit the opening eg to stop it hitting something overhead in your garage. As it is moving the mechanism and motor are ok but it may have had the opening limit reset?

What are these?
What does the switch do? My boot doesn't look like this that I have noticed?

Waiting for a new car?
I read somewhere that there is a global shortage of some computer parts and it can add up to many months extra delay. Presumably they will have stopped taking orders on specs they can’t supply in a reasonable time?

Bumper kicking boot door opening question.
I have been outside playing with it to see how I can get it working. I assumed you were supposed to kick under the spot where there is an insert in the bumper near to offside edge of hatch. This occasionally worked but go any further to offside and it doesn’t. However when I tried kicking under the bumper anywhere between the near side edge of the hatch and just past the centre nearly to that insert it works every time. Will now use this more as convenient if it now works reliably. As above powered opening is an option on some and standard on others specs. Standard on my edition but the foot operation is an extra even on my top of range car. I think it was over £400 and personally had it not already been fitted I could have managed without it to save the money. However car with this included was in the showroom when I decided to get a Karoq and we drove it away next day with no wait for it to be built. It also had towbar prep that we don’t need and heated rear seats which may rarely get used as well. However it does have the essential heated windscreen and the very nice digital dash.

Bumper kicking boot door opening question.
I have this and in theory you wave your foot under bumper to open boot and same again to close. Very iffy and Often does nothing despite silly looking foot waving!! Easier to use the centre button on remote press and hold to open when closed and vice versa to close. Alternatively use rubber sensor to touch above number plate to open and button under hatch to close. There is also a button on the driver door to open or close the hatch. You don’t move the hatch by hand at all. The foot waving option was already on our car bought from the showroom but seems to be a waste of money as works easily without it.

Coasting
I use the eco mode a lot on longer trips when I remember to select it. That enables coasting in my my20 car. I have the 190ps and performance is perfectly adequate in this mode most of the time. Anywhere I need the extra performance eg coming out of a junction or into a roundabout or braking for a bend and expecting to accelerate out it is simple to knock the lever for sport mode for a few seconds then knock again back to eco. I suppose in lower power versions it could cause performance issues? I have tried selecting sport mode in settings. What does this do different to pulling back on the lever? In sport mode if. You pull back the lever it goes to drive mode and I can’t tell any difference in other settings apart from gear change points. I have read that steering settings change in sport mode when selected via the menu but can’t tell any difference?

Coasting
As soon as you touch the brake the clutch engaged and engine braking is engaged in this mode and stays on until you touch the accelerator again. I do wonder though if the fuel needed to keep the engine at tickover is using more than keeping clutch engaged and reverse driving the engine with zero fuel consumption whilst engine braking

Hi from a potential new owner
You only need the jack and tools if you get a space saver for a 2wd car. I would also keep the pump as useful. You can fit a full size wheel as a spare if you buy the riser kit and new floor as well, but this will reduce boot space and doesn’t leave a large flat area if you have the removable rear seats. 4wd can only have a space saver spare and must have the riser kit and new floor. This what I fitted to my 4wd but will struggle to fit the punctured wheel into the boot with a lot of luggage in.

Changes for MY22
I had 3 between 2010 and 2020. 2010 elegance company lease 110ps diesel 2014 elegance company lease Greenline 2017 personal lease SEL 150ps dsg which I had intended to keep into retirement until I came across current 190ps Edition in Black in the showroom last year at a good price whilst Yeti was in for service.

Changes for MY22
The trouble is the new design will become accepted and the current start to seem old fashioned? So facelift early version will have more value than similar aged older version. I loved the style of my 2010 Yeti but as a company lease car it had to be replaced in 2014. The new second Yeti was a facelift and initially I still preferred the original. However by 2017 when I picked and ordered my own third Yeti I liked the revised style and thought the original looked dated!

Damp patch under back
We did a 5 mile trip home the other day in our 190tdi. there is a hump to get onto drive over footpath and my wife gets out there. By the time I had moved forward again a puddle of water under the exhaust on the road and puddles all down the drive and again under exhaust where the car was parked. Very hot so the a/c had been working hard.

Are all Karoq 2.0tdi 4x4?
The 4x4 system is probably working a lot more than you think. You will not notice most of the time. The slightest slip of a front wheel sends power to the rear. Large steering angles or large amounts of power applied will also send power to the rear even with no slip at the front. Apart from the extra weight it brings and the need to service the Haldex I can't see any good argument not to have it in a more powerful version of the car. I often feel a push from the rear when turning out of a junction accelerating fast for safety. And the argument above over not wanting a dsg as I want to select gear myself is crazy. The gearbox will change much faster than you can and apply power almost all the time. When you manually change gear you have to disconnect from the power, and then change gear and reapply power which takes a finite amount of time. With a dsg and paddles on the steering wheel you can have the best of both, selecting whatever gear you want when you want, but also being lazy at most times and let the car do it for you. A dsg in sport mode will always beat a manual car of the same power output as it can change gear at exactly the right time and virtually instantaneously. I had some terrible experiences in long stop start traffic jams in manual cars. Constant clutch operation becomes painfull after a long time but you still have to do it until clear of the issue. A dsg if effortless in the same situation.
