keyfob battery failing with *no* warning
Is this on the pre my20 cars where the key does not go into not standby after being left stationary for a period? Hopefully improved system will extend battery life?

Tyre rotation
Yes I know but a lot of owners may not know what that means

Tyre rotation
You must do only this if the tyres can only rotate in one direction as is the case with many now. My winter tyres are like this and you can only swap front to rear on each side. Many guides suggest speaking front to other side at rear. Check for the rotation arrow if of this type I swap my wheels around when I go from summer to winter tyres to even out the wear so that all are eventually replaced in one go. I prefer all four tyres to be same make, wear and age for best performance.

SOS Error Message
It said cars from 2018 sold in Europe had to have this feature but my 2020 model has no sos button or way to call that I know off?

New car spec slightly changed from advertised.
Should be one wipe, off, auto with the 4 position switch on top adjusting sensitivity, normal continuous and finally fast continuous. Otherwise when would you use the top control?

Skoda Roadside Assistance
AA came twice to me in the first 8 days as battery had died during long storage before sale and would not charge. Quick response both times and ensured the garage I bought the car from fixed the problem by going with me 25 miles to leave it there with their report on issues. And ensured I had a courtesy car for the 8 days it took to get and put in new battery. Apparently a faulty batch and loads of VW group cars with same issue as cars were sold out of shut down storage.

ALG and Lane Assist
My car will only change lane if you deliberately force it too. It’s quite obvious if it is working or not. It will happily follow a lane, more or less in the centre and follow a lane around a bend by itself if you loosely hold the steering wheel. Your,s can’t be working correctly

What oil for 1.5 TSI ?
?I have not had to top up oil on any of my 7 Skoda since new since 2000? They all happily went from new to first service without needing it and then on again without need to top up for time I had them. I was a 18k a year driver as well on long service interval

Karoq lease - are early returns allowed?
I returned my Yeti last August which was on a 42 month Skoda lease 4 months early. I saved 4 months of lease payment, and the dealer bought in the car from the lease deal to sell himself. As the mileage was low due to the lockdown and change of use with work, I also received £1500 from the dealer as part of the deal towards new car, as value was higher than lease assumed at that point. As I was on a no interest deal at the time although I looked into paying off the lease very soon after getting the car, as I only took on the lease due to substantial discounts which were not availabe for a cash purchase, there were no savings, so I kept my money invested and paid monthly. Opposite with current car as it was offered with first 3 months free before paying anything, and a substantial discount if I took out a lease deal , but 4.5% interest from memeory. I paid in full shortly after collecting the car and ended the lease before the first payment was due and now own the car. You must have the option to pay off the lease and keep the car? You can ask for a quote for the buy out cost as this may leave you with an asset worth more than the cost of doing this to exchgange for another car or even sell outright? Just asking for a quote does not commit you to doing anything and if your deal includes an interest payment you will make a saving on that element by law. You can only do this though if you have the right deal. Other lease deals specifically deny you the right to buy the car at the end, although others can purchase it from the lease company. In many types of lease, if you have made so many payments you can just return the car at no cost to yourself, and no cash back though. You need to read the small print

Handover/collection tips
I am completely happy with the ride on my Editions 19". It is far better than the 17" on prior Yetis. (16" winter tyres were fantastic ride though!!) I think it is the Sportline model where everyone is coplaining of the ride as even lower profile and possibly stiffer suspention?
-
Handover/collection tips
I have something very similar for my winter tyre set. Whilst absolutely fine to drive the car doesn't look that good when fitted. It is surprising what a difference in appearance the alloys make.

Handover/collection tips
Walk around and look for any damage which can happen during delivery and storage. Check paint is ok as sometimes polished through on sharp edges. If you have protection applied check for splashes and stains inside.

Handover/collection tips
Tyres are over inflated at factory to prevent flats forming when some cars go into storage for potentially months. If they forget to lower the pressure, ride will be appalling, as it was when I collected my Yeti in 2017!! Drove it 30 miles home thinking I had made a mistake, but fine once adjusted.

Another tow bar query
No, a professional fit to a 2005 Skoda superb, probably with scotchlock though, which was ok at the time for that car. Your Yeti kit will not have connected to the electrics correctly and it also needs to be programmed in so couldn't be done safely for that cost. Car needs to know it has a trailer attached for the safety stability and braking systems to work correctly. Not practical for most to diy fit now. I have fitted several towbars over the years. I think I did one on a Polo many years ago for under £50. I would not risk it now.
-
Another tow bar query
If you fit towbar it should be fit to tow anything up to the maximum capacity as you never know what someone may hook up in the future? I used to tow sailing boats most weekends and had a large capacity goods trailer for diy use but stopped fitting tow bars in 2010 when I had my first Yeti. Up to then a towbar complete was around £150, it jumped to £800 or more due to the complexity of wiring to current cars. Just not worth paying that much every 3 years or so. Conversely my current car came out of dealer stock and has the 190ps engine. Dealer expects those getting that engine will do it to tow so it has towbar prep which I don’t need!

Map zooming at junctions etc.
Isn't there a picture in picture menu, this shows the next turn details in a box to the side? When approaching a motorway junction it opens and shows you what lane to be in. One of the buttons along bottom of main screen, and select the views you want.

SQUEAKS !
Its not them its the bit on the seats which all rattle inside when shaken.
-
SQUEAKS !
The retractable parcel shelf rubs on the seats when reclined fully and I have a nasty high pitched noise when the car goes over a bump. Seems to be at the back but I can't track it down. Seat belt buckles also rattle like they used to in previous Yeti. All 3 Yetis I had suffered from creaks around the dials.

New SE L boot rattle
The 16” are for the winter tyres. I have 16” on my Edition at the moment with winter tyres on. Will put the19” back on in April. My 19” wheels have a 45 aspect tyre as far as I can recall. not 40 so not that harsh a ride. Much better than previous Yeti on17”!!

Rear view mirror down lights
Is crystal black really that rare? It does look good when clean and in the sun though
-
Rear view mirror down lights
It was not a specific colour choice. Last car was black and I really wanted a brighter colour until I came across my Karoq in the showroom for sale whilst taking Yeti in for some service work. Didn't realise it was special at the time and bought the black car whilst I was there because of the rest of it's spec. Yeti was approaching end of lease and decision time to pay the final payment and keep it like I originally intended when I specced it, or return it.

Rear view mirror down lights
If you have a sunroof there is no room to fit them. So I don't have them either.

Buyer's remorse, please help.
And me, but I have had loads of Skodas before. No regrets as much nicer to drive than prior Yeti’s. I don't get the complaints about the ride on the 19” wheels? It's near perfect compared to a Yeti on 17” and I had them for previous 10 years.
