The configuration only gives the edition with 2wd 1.5 petrol engine now. Have to go to another spec to get 4wd

If you have too much oil it may resist the pistons going down by forming a hydraulic lock and potentially wreck the engine. There has to be air between the pistons base and oil level in the sump to allow them to go up and down. As one goes down another goes up and the air moves between them. Oil can’t do this in the same quick way

Could that you explain why the 5 year old very low mileage Fabia we have just found for my daughter has the lever missing which releases the steering column so it can be adjusted? The first user for 3 years was almost certainly a motability user? No obvious damage and I couldn’t come up with a reason before for it to be missing? Some form of hand control, since removed, as it is also a rare Fabia automatic which we were looking for. The supplying dealer hadn’t noticed and has ordered a new steering column to rectify this issue as the steering wheel is fixed and can’t be adjusted at the moment

When I tried that last year I was told that it was no longer possible and that the letters were assigned as next in Queue!!

We went into two different VW garages and an Audi garage when looking at replacements for my previous Yeti. Everyone was too busy to talk to us or we didn’t look affluent enough to buy one of their cars. Ended up back at DM Keith in York where they are always helpful and bought our third car from them

This is quite normal to shift cars. Our Karoq is a 20 reg and was new two weeks before the change to 70 reg with a huge discount and first 3 months lease payments free to allow the dealer to meet sales targets in a slow month. Discounts and free lease payments disappeared before the registration change. Our car will be worth less at change time but the saving on new cost allowing for depreciation should be twice or more the difference in px value.

Yes my car built in around March 2020 and bought from the showroom in August 2020 had a deceased battery which caused two call outs to AA in first week and then was replaced. No other issues to date over the year I have had it though, apart from replacing the awful wipers which screeched on every wipe both front and rear.

Cars could be deregistered then registered again in the past. I ordered a company lease mondeo some years ago and instead of the normal 4 to 5 months for it to be built, it was supplied from stock with all the options and colour I had picked almost straight away. As my existing car still had over 3 months lease left before return I could not take it at that time. It would have been a Y reg, but was deregistered and stored for 12 weeks and eventually registered again as a 51 reg.

Just bought a 2016 SEL for my daughters first car. Extremely low mileage at 9700 and good condition as little used by first owner and second laid it up due to COVID and then had to stop driving completely. Bought through a Skoda dealer so this is going to be rectified under deal when parts come in as part of purchase, but how can this adjustment lever go missing in the first place? Can the mechanism jam in the fixed position and the lever break off when trying to free it to adjust the steering wheel position?

The trouble is I have a ladder rack and a bike rack set up from Yetis but the rails on Karoq are too small to use them without adding in some dubious rubber packings into the clamps!

It is more responsive in sport mode but I am now past the need to drive on the limit. For 99% of the time drive mode is fine and I like to use eco mode on the long trips we do between Leeds and Norwich every few weeks now. It definitely does better mpg in eco mode topping out at about 51mpg for the 170 mile trip. You don’t need sport mode on fast dual c’way or motorways. The car is at the speed limit comfortably faster than most from a standing start and then illegal to go faster anyway. Once on slower A roads towards Lincolnshire and Norfolk there are virtually no places to safely overtake now anyway with speed cameras all over the place. If I was looking for a sporty car there are others much more suitable out there?

I have a 190ps tdi and I will still knock back into sport mode for overtaking, pulling out of dodgy junctions, anticipating the need to accelerate quickly after braking for a sharp bend etc. It transforms the response by telling the car to prepare to accelerate rather than average to poor response depending on the car in drive or eco mode settings. So quick and easy to do and I find it better than using the paddles and going into manual for a bit. Immediately the overtaking, junction exit achieved, or car is accelerating as needed I go back to drive mode or eco mode again.

I suspect it is in automatic and determines the setting depending on what the car is doing? As far as I know it can also be changed by selecting different driving modes such as sport from the menu(not by using the gear selector though?). I did not notice any difference when I used sport mode rather than drive when I tried it though so now only ever change to eco mode as sporty gear selection and engine set for performance can be gained in either eco or drive with the gear selector. There are options you are unlikely to have though as expensive, which allow you to change the suspension response?

Plastic is much safer in an accident, if a pedestrian is hit especially. Broken pieces will not be as sharp. Also less likely to break if a stone hits them or a minor shunt.

That can only happen if water is getting in?

My car has it and is great particularly with the optional foot operation once I got the hang of where to kick to make it go. particularly useful for my wife who struggled to pull down and close previous Yeti tailgate I think fitting it is beyond most though as diy and this is just the button opearstion version?

It also won’t close if it thinks the key is in the car and otherwise locked?

I frequently use the key holder. When I swap with the wife driving on a long trip I have to take the key out of my pocket and put it in the keyholder as otherwise it is too far from the steering column to register and allow the car to start.

A number of cars suffered from battery issues if they have the stop start system and special battery required. This stems from a bad batch of batteries last year and the lockdown leaving cars stood for months. If the battery goes completely flat and is left like this for a period, it often will not charge again or only partially charge. The AA guy who recovered my car after the second flat battery episode told me he had dealt with numerous other simmilar issues to Skoda, Seat, VW and Audi's during 2020. My MY20 car was built in around March 2020, and I bought it in August from dealer stock. After driving it home the battery was flat the next day. I have the correct type of charger so charged it completely, but it then went flat again over next 3 days despite long trips. It had to be replaced the following week. Your battery could be damaged and whilst just about ok for normal use, not able to work this new camera as well?

Because the side seats are usually in position in either of two connectors and cover the others. They have automatic dirt covers which cover the connectorwhen not in use. The middle seat can be left out and the connector is then accessible to those in the side rear seats such as children’s hence needs a more robust cover with a warning. Don’t forget to open it when dropping the central seat base as I think it would break easily!

Because you should only do it for a short time to ensure the air in the car stays fresh. use recirculate to boost the ability of the a/c initially then for short periods thereafter as needed, or to stop fumes coming in when encountered

How can this be correct? If I added some Adblu to my Yeti but never to full, as I put 5lt in each time as half a 10lt container for convenience, the range would increase. I had a part container left over so put some in my Karoq and the range increased. In both cases the car sensed the increased amount in the tank itself and adjusted the range.

My euro 6 diesel is to same emission standard as a current petrol but does more mpg so cleaner overall!!
