Interior rear view mirror USB
Wiring looms are normally made for the exact vehicle spec these days with no extra wires for options not fitted.

New Karoq, first impressions and comparison
I had the boot light torch for 7 years in last 2 Yetis and never took it out of it's clip

Mood Lighting
I believe you can customize it to on or off and change the colour on mine

Trolley jacks. I'd welcome a bit of advice, please.
You can buy a guide stud on eBay or similar. Makes it much easier to change the wheel. Take first bolt out near top and screw stud in finger tight. This then supports the wheel until all the other bolts are out safely. Slide wheel off stud and replace new wheel in reverse. Only £6 or so and makes it so much quicker and safer.

Wheels
I was caught out as I bought a set of winter steel wheels and tyres for my Yeti, but they were supplied as 6J and I didn't lealise they were actually too narrow. However they are exactly right for my Karoc and on the car at the moment

Connect Lite / Myskoda App Problem
Loads left today, can you report back on what this does well or not nand how much the app costs to use it please. Will this work on a MY20 car?

That`s novel self opening boot!
Perhaps a silly question, but my car boot has the foot operation option. Would a cat running under the car rear in the right place open the boot if I am near enough with a key so it is active?

Wheels
Except they are not correct for the car so may cause insurance issues as not type approved I have the correct 6j ones on my car with winter tyres at the moment and they don't need to be any wider with the correct tyres fitted. Those same tyres on a 7j wheel as approved for the Yeti may be stretched a bit too wide?

Karoq 1.5 or 2.0 TSi ?
Sorry running doesn't agree with me, but done a lot of walking in the last year!!

Karoq 1.5 or 2.0 TSi ?
Unfortunately I have had to do it twice, lost near enough 10st to get down to target 13.5st in 2014, then 3 serious medical life threatening occurences, each of which result in eating too much whilst recovering, and I was back to 20st in Oct 2019. Since then managed to get back down to current 14st and still losing. Just use calorie counting each day, seems to work and my wife is doing it as well and lost 2st. When you realise how many calories in something you start yo avoid it. Indeed she bougth a mousakka ready meal last week thinking it is for 2, but it is a meal for one at 950 calories!!! That will stay in the freezer for some time I think.

Karoq 1.5 or 2.0 TSi ?
I have been up to 23 stone in a Yeti and the seats in that were rather uncomfortably narrow whilst I exceeded 19st. I am now down to 14st and find the Karoq seats are wider compared to the Yeti seats, so you could probably fit a huge person in this car. If you buy a version with electric seats, as mine has, it gives a lot more options for adjustment

Karoq Dash Cam Installation
Apparently the side trims up the windscreen are near impossible to remove without damage, and you need to be very careful not to set off the airbag whilst installing the cable. Once installed the route of the cable must not restrict the airbag from deploying. Running a cable for a rear camera is even more difficult, and potentially untidy. If you are not confident you can do it, this might be better done by an expert.

Wheels
Best time to buywinter tyres and wheels has to be in the previous summer. Any ordered now are likely to arrive after you no longer need them, and will cost the maximum price at the moment. Another 7 weeks or so and I will be thinking about putting the summer tyres back on depending on the long range weather forecast, sometime in April!

Wheels
I am using 6j 16" steel wheeels with Dunlopwinter sport tyres on my Karoq instead of normal 19"8j wheels. I bought them for my Yeti a few years ago from Mr. Winter tyres. He sold me them for a Yeti but actually to be correct the Yeti is supposed to use 16" 7j wheels!! They are perfect fit for Karoq as per the spec for winter tyres, but the supplier above said they were the wrong size!! Wonder what he would have sold me for the Karoq? Not sure what they cost now but the wheel rims were £50 each, and you picked a tyre to fit from budget (not recommended) to top performer. Now on third winter and hardly worn

Out in the snow
19” 8j wheels are standard. The 16” wheels are listed on the fuel filler cap as winter tyres for car. The speedo is slightly more optimistic with winter tyres on eg at a true 50 it reads 55. With 19” it would read 54.

New SE L boot rattle
Pull it out slightly to clear, move the rubber mount by one tooth and then tighten again. The stew locks it in the new position

Out in the snow
You can use 16” 6j wheels with winter tyres and get more choice. That’s what I have on at the moment and on their 3rd winter as aI bought for previous Yeti. I paid £50 per wheel for steel rims plus choice of tyre at different costs depending on make. Also means alloys are protected from salty road use.

Old Yeti, new owner.
The Bluetooth unit was located beneath the seat on mine in the uk Elegance spec. when I upgraded my phone about 2013 though it would not work with the new phone properly, probably even more out of date now?

keyfob battery failing with *no* warning
Later cars have the keys go to sleep 15 mins after the last movement to extend battery life. It is also a security improvement as a car thief can't use a signal booster to take the signal from the house to the car otherwise out of range. If you have a later MY20 or 21 car best bet is to keep keys stationary somewhere rather than in your pocket to extend the battery life.

Yeti Specs and offroad button
Cars after 2015 were all euro 6? The 1.4 petrol is only in the L&K and then you have to have the sunroof, which will leak or crack at some point?

Lying repair garage and insurer
Yes both my first 2 Yetis had it, in elegance model it was standard. Final 2017 yeti didn't had an umbrella instead

Karoq SEL 1.5TSi ACT Manual 34 month Update and Review
Happy with both. I already had the winter wheels from my Yeti, now on third winter. The 19” are really a fashion statement though for UK market. Car doesn't really need such a wide and low profile tyre fitted. I have an edition and don't expect to be anywhere near the limit of the tyres these days.

Karoq SEL 1.5TSi ACT Manual 34 month Update and Review
The ride on the 19” is acceptable and a huge improvement on my prior Yeti on 17”. On 16” it is better again, but handling and grip will be suffering at the limit. I don't push the limit now though so happy with both.

Karoq SEL 1.5TSi ACT Manual 34 month Update and Review
I am running 16” winter wheels at the moment instead of standard 19” which came with car and have not noticed any improvement in the fuel consumption.

New member, new Karoq
You still have to use sensibly to start with, plus brakes and tyres need a few hundred miles to wear in before they reach peak performance. The car can still cruise happily at 70 though way below any temporary rev limit. Not like old days when you couldn't exceed 40 then 50 etc for hundreds of miles.
