  1. All editions had 19” as standard? I think 20 and 21 were optional? The ride in my Edition with 19” wheels is far better than previous Yeti on its 17”. I must admit though that the edition on my 16” winter tyres kept from Yeti years is really good
  2. The sensor is under the bumper but to the offside. There is a small panel under the bumper where it fits. You need to kick or wave foot under bumper towards near side of the car for the sensor to work, as it seems to look towards the kerb under bumper. I have nearly 100% success now.
  3. I have replaced mine several times with different quality batteries and still get this message. I carry a spare battery with me in case it fails completely now, but the car still always locks, unlocks and starts. I suspect different makes of batteries have slightly different fully charged voltages, and hence slightly different transmission power?
  4. The rears kick in as fronts loose grip so excessive wear on fronts is reduced, as they don’t spin even marginally, whilst wear on rear is only slightly increased?
  5. No even though I have a my20 car with keys that stop transmitting, I always lock and disable the Kessy by touching the door handle and listen for the confirmation beep before leaving the car.
  6. Later cars from sometime in 2019 have keys that stop transmitting after being stationary for a few minutes. This effectively prevents the stealing off the drive using receiver and amplifier method if you forget to disable Kessy. Worth looking into if your car is new enough to have this upgrade.
  7. Some warranties are worth having though. My brother bought a 13 year old Merc recently from a trade friend for about £8k. A few weeks later he had some handling issues and discovered the rear subframe had failed due to rust. Quoted £5k for repair but then found that Merc’s with full service history have a 30 year rust warranty. Replaced FOC. Apparently this is a known issue on that vehicle but it only occurs in countries that use salt on roads in winter! Can’t imagine Skoda doing a similar repair on my car free at 13 years old!
  8. I hope mine do better than that! Used to a Yeti managing around 24k or more on front and going back to lease company on original rear tyres at 65k? Last 150ps Yeti still on original tyres all round at 36k on trade in with winter tyres used for about 10k of that. Swapped front to rear each change summer to winter though. Those winter tyres now done 5 winters, two winters since Yeti went on Karoq, and still loads of tread left at around 15k
  9. Did this on a number of occasions in previous Yeti moving student daughter around with all her stuff. 1 seats in back of car and rest full to roof!! Its designed to do this, indeed on Yeti it was featured in all different combinations of 3 seats, 2 with centre seat folded for armrest, 2 seats with centre seat taken out where they can move closer together, and finally with one or no seats left in car.
  10. I opened the bonnet on a previous Yeti about 2000m after its last service to check oil level and refill washer bottle. I found the oil filler cap loose in its housing on the top of the engine. The only reason it was still there was the bonnet above stopping it bouncing out. The car had done all that mileage with effectively no cap fitted with no apparent after effects on longevity. I did about another 40k before it went back to lease company as it was a company provided and serviced car. I did have oil staining all over the sound insulation under the bonnet and over top of engine though from oil mist escaping. I always check now when I get a car back from servicing that all the fluids are correct and caps fitted properly before driving away.
  11. I have replaced my battery twice now. Despite using genuine Panasonic batteries it always says change key battery on dash most times? I suspect different makes have very slight normal fully charged voltage. Despite continuing warning the key still works for months like this.
  12. I swap mine front to back every time I change from winter to summer wheels
  13. That’s perfectly normal and you just hold it there until you restrain it in position with the elastic cord and hook to the front seat headrest tube. It can’t go upright and freestanding as the front seat back is angled itself. These hooks are quite tight and need a firm pull to extend enough to hook on though. I don’t have a problem doing this but others have had issues with not being able to pull the elastic far enough to hook.
  14. Lot less than buying new and is all the bits you would have got direct from Skoda. If your car has varioflex seats it theoretically won’t fit as obstructs the release handles to fold the seats forward. You can though carefully cut slots in the floor raising surround to allow clearance and access to the handles. I had to do that when I added the spare wheel to my car. I presume you have a 2wd as this kit won’t fit a 4wd though. You can only have a space saver with 4wd and this same surround kit. You can fit the alternate space saver wheel to a 2wd car without the floor raising kit?
  15. Yes thanks, I always thought it automatically locked if you walk away but you are correct. Fortunately never done this personally as always lock with keyfob and then disable the Kessy. However if you don’t disable it, it will unlock when you are near it and is then accessible to others for a period until it re locks, if you don’t open a door. So definitely better to disable. TBH I can’t see the point of Kessy apart from not having to use a key in ignition. My sons Ford has a keyless ignition, but no automatic door unlocking, seems better to me.
  16. It’s only the very early cars that had that security issue, changed as stated above in 2019? Never the less I always disable the system before leaving the car by locking with the button and touching the dimple to disable this feature. The car does not lock immediately as you walk away and could be unlocked if you stay nearby allowing entry for theft when not looking? Not sure how quickly it locks and how far you have to move away before it locks?
  17. You are probably not compressing the backs enough when you fold them. Push down hard and may get an extra click? I am 6’ tall and have no issue. Just had them folded this morning to clean underneath without having to disturb the front seat setting.
  18. I have never seen a new car delivered with zero on the odometer? They are not reset. Typically about 7 miles which includes a test drive at the factory, drive to transporter, parking at dock, on and off ship, storage at destination then delivery service and check drive. My wife’s last new car had 25 on the clock so must have had an extended delivery drive. When I was driving company cars they sometimes came on a trailer, but a couple of times had 150 or more miles done with a delivery driver.
  19. It’s always been necessary to clean the Haldex filter- unfortunately Skoda did not admit there was even a filter there and just the changed oil. This led to many Haldex failures where despite oil change the still blocked filter caused them to fail catastrophically. Some dealers were more proactive and the filter was cleaned on my Yeti 2 years ago when that had its Haldex serviced. I asked for it to be done and they said it was always done there. To access the filter the Haldex has to be drained and then opened.
  20. My car shows the speed limit on the dash, but I live on a 30 mph estate and it says 20! On our regular trip to Norfolk it says 40 in some stretches that are 60, 60 were the signs say 50 and in Norwich 30 on some 20 roads and vice Versa. Not clear to me if it is the camera picking up signs incorrect or if the maps are out of date. I can see this technology making cars suddenly brake for example where there is a side road with 30 limit running alongside a 60 main road?
  21. You only have a raised floor with the “full size spare”, on 2wd cars. Space saver fits below the lower boot floor cover in 2wd vehicle 4wd cars like mine can only fit a space saver and have to have the raised floor to cover it.
  22. My MY20 car has the removable torch but only 2 hooks
  23. When I bought my Karoq I had only renewed my Yeti insurance a few weeks before. Surprisingly I went from a 150ps Yeti to a 190ps Karoq and the insurance reduced! I had about £30 refund!
  24. It is useful as above to allow you to sort out insurance etc. eg I decided to buy my new car from display in the showroom whilst in the garage having work done on previous car. I drove it home next day. It would have been impossible to change the insurance that quickly as it seems to take a couple of days before the new registration and car details appear on the database so you can get a quote. Be advised though that the excess is huge, £1500 from memory and you will be driving a car that you have to familiarise yourself with!
  25. Yes but you are not using an old phone with a dead battery in it which can overheat if left plugged in to a charger, possibly causing the battery to swell up and burst into flame.
