I've done a search but nothing comes up, possibly due to the fact I don't know what to search for. Anyway, starting today - never seen it before, I've been getting a small speed limit symbol, red circle - white background with MPH in the circle. It only pops up now and again in the lane keeping / following a car matrix, bottom centre of screen, and it only stays for about 5 seconds, thus I haven't got a picture. As I say, it's only started (or I've only just noticed it) today after 18 months of ownership. Any knowledge anyone?

I wonder how many people with powered hatches have forgotten themselves and suffered tailgate damage in multi-storey car parks? I once 'dinged' the tailgate on a new Mondeo in a car park in Stuttgart by just opening and letting go.

This comment doesn’t help or apply to the OP’s vehicle but honestly, the powered tailgate is a ‘convenience’ I could happily do without - any long term ownership or used purchase is ultimately going to result in £££’s being spent on the damn thing………

Is it not the speed limit when wet / raining?

Had my dealer on the phone wanting to book my Superb in for 2 recalls - the rear door strut mountings and 'Lane Assist' update. Now I know about the struts but whats the problem with 'Lane assist', anyone?

They are quite near to me - bought a used Honda Jazz from him 2 years ago for an elderly friend - seemed very straight and honourable - this time last year (MOT time) I couldn't find* the locking wheel nut key and despite it being a year since the purchase he was prepared to sort it, as you say Graham, he's one of the good guys. *As it happened, the locking key was exactly where he said it was, in the glove box but Jazz have a secret upper glove box and mug here wasn't looking in the right place!

No dashboard button for me just the regular clicky catch on the flap?

I sympathise Graham. Van drivers give me the hump too - I've got three of 'em parking outside my property, 2 x Openreach and 1 x Metworks and the owners all live on the next street and two of 'em are supersized Sprinter types with ladders on the roof. Because of difficult drainage and limited driveway space I prefer to wash my Superb on the road but unless I can get back before the vans arrive I'm thwarted. What really winds me up is when the jokers go away for a week or two and leave their own driveway empty and their bloody great commercials parked outside me. 😠

Not easy to relate the scenario at the times it happened inasmuch as it only started doing this on a long motorway run this last Saturday and as it all manifests so suddenly / quickly my attention is almost fully diverted to cancelling the auto braking and checking the situation behind. However, I do recall one instance where I was in lane 2.

I get that on any road where the car in front peels off to the left - this motorway quirk is something different.

My adaptive cruise has started seeing problems (on motorways) that don't exist. When passing a exit slip road it will often decide that I've taken the exit and apply the brakes as if I'm about to come to the end of the slip. Doesn't happen at all junctions - maybe 20% of them. I know that a little pictorial diagram does pop up a few moments before the braking but it's pure chance that I might spot it as it's only on screen for 3 seconds or so. Anyone else experienced this?

I'd think you have to do a full factory reset on the infotainment system......'Car - Settings - Factory Settings'.

It disables the Kessy part of the system whilst the car is parked, only pressing the fob will get you in - admittedly, the temporary state is cleared when you press the fob to open but the advantage is you don’t need to use the little bag or a box.

I sympathise Patent, the Superb door mirrors are very poor for rear wheel area sighting - I wish I’d had the presence of mind to check on my test drive before ordering. I paid for area view too and that is equally poor.

Car has been in for 1st year service today - they were none too happy that I’d removed the engine cover - had me sign a declaration that I’d presented the car without cover because of it being lost / destroyed…………

My Golf TDI had a couple of broken engine cover mounting studs and so I presented for test without the cover. The tester (miserable git) was taking forever to do the paperwork - when I pressed him he said he had concerns about the missing engine cover and was busy looking for the relevant rule. In the end he gave up but was convinced the missing cover was a problem.

Just booked my 280 in for it's first service. Dealer tells me that the engine cover has a recall (I knew, but been ignoring the letters 'cause after a quick look under the bonnet last summer that cover was well secure) and the action required is to remove and destroy the engine cover, no replacement.....! I've just been under the bonnet to remove it and see that even if it did vibrate loose there is no way it can work its way down to the exhaust, it's all too tight. However, more concerning for me is how ****e the engine looks without its cover.

A single rear fog is always fitted to the offside/drivers side..........

My 2022 L&K 280 estate doesn't ‘coast’ in any setting - very little information in the handbook.

I'm not inclined to go out in this weather and check but I have a recollection of my wife mentioning the lack of colour across the front back in the summer......I'm sure you can switch off the dash or dim it until it disappears.

Is it switched on / off in the 'background lighting' options menu?

I got one of those CTEK 'traffic light' cables about 10 years ago - very poor - it spent most of its time in a state of confusion. Even when the CTEK showed a fully charged battery the green light on the indicator lead never showed. They only cost about a tenner so go ahead, give it a try, but I'm 99% sure you'll be disappointed.
