  1. I sympathise Patent, the Superb door mirrors are very poor for rear wheel area sighting - I wish I’d had the presence of mind to check on my test drive before ordering. I paid for area view too and that is equally poor.
  2. Car has been in for 1st year service today - they were none too happy that I’d removed the engine cover - had me sign a declaration that I’d presented the car without cover because of it being lost / destroyed…………
  3. My Golf TDI had a couple of broken engine cover mounting studs and so I presented for test without the cover. The tester (miserable git) was taking forever to do the paperwork - when I pressed him he said he had concerns about the missing engine cover and was busy looking for the relevant rule. In the end he gave up but was convinced the missing cover was a problem.
  4. Just booked my 280 in for it's first service. Dealer tells me that the engine cover has a recall (I knew, but been ignoring the letters 'cause after a quick look under the bonnet last summer that cover was well secure) and the action required is to remove and destroy the engine cover, no replacement.....! I've just been under the bonnet to remove it and see that even if it did vibrate loose there is no way it can work its way down to the exhaust, it's all too tight. However, more concerning for me is how ****e the engine looks without its cover.
  5. A single rear fog is always fitted to the offside/drivers side..........
  6. My 2022 L&K 280 estate doesn't ‘coast’ in any setting - very little information in the handbook.
  7. I'm not inclined to go out in this weather and check but I have a recollection of my wife mentioning the lack of colour across the front back in the summer......I'm sure you can switch off the dash or dim it until it disappears.
  8. Is it switched on / off in the 'background lighting' options menu?
  9. I got one of those CTEK 'traffic light' cables about 10 years ago - very poor - it spent most of its time in a state of confusion. Even when the CTEK showed a fully charged battery the green light on the indicator lead never showed. They only cost about a tenner so go ahead, give it a try, but I'm 99% sure you'll be disappointed.
  10. 3 - 5 months, if the battery is still good I'll be very surprised.........mine can run down in just a month if locked.
  11. Can't help with your problem 'brygus' but this is the sort of problem you only find after living with the motor for a while. I wish I'd noticed on a test drive how poor the door mirrors are - not only do they not fold in sufficiently but they can't be tilted down enough to see adequately alongside. Add to which the expensive 'area view' becomes almost useless when in a tight spot, not that it's particularly good at the best of times.
  12. I hope you're not giving up on the Superb range are you ApertureS? Your knowledge and expertise in all things Superb would be greatly missed.........
  13. I still have the Skoda card mentioned above - £10.
  14. You don't really want that tacky cheap and nasty L&K badge on the wings do you? Mine were off and in the bin within 20 minutes of being delivered. The gear knob decal 'DSG 4x4' was quickly replaced too.
  15. I adapted the catch on our Karoq by trimming / filing to avert any potential ‘stuck’ at the petrol station scenario - by trimming the catch I was able to prise the flap open without causing damage but still locked sufficiently - doesn’t help you today but the Karoq forum highlighted the fact that many vehicles were suffering fuel flap solenoid failure.
  16. Thanks guys but there appeared to be something different in the latest models inasmuch as The only options I have are ‘Lane Assist’ off / on and ‘Steering Wheel Vibrate’ off / on - seemingly no further menu’s……….
  17. Not sure if ‘steering assist’ is the correct title - but, my Superb used to follow the road and complain if I let go of the wheel - the whole business irritated me and I somehow turned it off, how I don’t know. Messing with the settings yesterday I noticed all driver assist gizmos are switched ‘on’ but the semi ‘self steering’ is limited to wobbling the wheel and putting some resistance in the wheel if I try to cross a line without indicating. Is there a sub-menu somewhere I’m missing?
  18. I get that on my Golf occasionally, move into drive after starting up and nothing - move the selector back to neutral and into drive again - all OK. Like you say, never happens after stop-start. I'm living with it .
  19. Yep EC73LDN is correct - I forgot to disconnect my small cool box recently - next morning the battery was wiped out, nothing in it at all, so I can confirm there’s no inbuilt safety on a 2022 Superb.
  20. There’s a ‘default’ setting in VCDS for non codable batteries such as the Bosch I’m sure, certainly there’s a work-around……….
  21. Sudden battery voltage drop maybe? Should / could / might clear with short run.
  22. I suspect you’re right D402, however, thinking along the same lines I tried a 12” length of 1/2” hose on a funnel, still didn’t work! Be warned, don’t run out of fuel - getting an emergency supply in isn’t easy.
  23. Just tried to put my ‘spare’ 5 litre can of fuel in my 280 - something very strange about the filler pipe - using the standard plastic green container and nozzle the fuel just fills up the neck and spills out! And no, the tank is not full, it’s almost empty.
  24. I too, coming from a T5 van that I could place with a pin-point accuracy, find the Superb mirrors poor, even the 'area view' is not as good as I expected.
