I’m pleased for you Yosser65 having got your new car - I’m still getting the gaslight treatment from my dealer - no movement and no predicted resolution date - interestingly my dealer claims it’s only the 1.5 DSG Karoq that’s affected - I’m getting more and more dissatisfied with Skoda / my dealer of late, this latest problem is close to pushing me over the edge, after 3 new motors I’m tempted to tell ‘em the deal is off……

Latest from my dealer is: No resolution yet - gearbox software (not yet ready) needs to be finalised and tested - nothing expected to change until at least 26th June - no rental or loan car to be provided, however a £200 'goodwill' payment towards any rental I arrange myself will be given! Anyone been offered / given anything better?

I feel that Skoda no longer value the ‘brochure’ inasmuch as it seems to be compiled by someone who doesn’t give a **** - apart from the mention above the dots and dashes are all over the place in the options list and don’t get me started on the price of the ‘packs’…….. As for the dealer arranging some sort of swap on the wheels - I know mine wouldn’t - they seem to consider customers as some sort of cross to bear.

I was told my vehicle is at the dealership but can't be registered yet so perhaps there is something in the 'holding back' to level up emissions quotas theory? Either way, I'm well narked having sold my car last week expecting to take delivery - I suspect the problem (whatever it is) has been known longer than Skoda and the dealer are letting on - my car was at the UK dock and allegedly to be transported on the 23rd - then nothing, not even a choice of registration numbers, until the bad news on Thursday afternoon last, the 6th. I've not called the dealer today, my wife won't let me, bad for my well being she says!

Can't decide if the car is at fault or some interference is playing a part - either way it's very random. Occasionally my sat nav decides not to play fair - I'll set off and the location flag will not be quite right, maybe a few hundred yards out but that will gradually get worse as I drive. Some times it can be 100 miles out. It's very frustrating because the speed limit warning appears to take some of the wrong sat nav info and sets off the bongs - once the camera picks up a speed roundel it settles down for a while, however, when the phantom sat nav location passes into a lower limit the bong goes off again. Often it will get its act together within 10 minutes or so, but it can take over an hour / 60 miles or so. Now here's the strange thing, Apple Car Play such as Waze - Google maps etc are wrong too. Anyone else get this?

I can’t imagine they did - my dealer is following the party line and making all the right sympathetic noises whilst giving nothing away - currently distracting me with some mealy mouthed words about trying to ‘sort something out’ on account of me selling my existing vehicle to WBAC early last week to coincide with the new delivery. Given my recent protracted new battery warranty claim and now this, Skoda must have the dealers on tight leash?

Well it must be ‘cause that 2nd screen is what I have all the time……. It I’ve no clear idea how to set it - I think it’s in the menu ‘vehicle’ settings page.

I’ve never been able to coax my 2021 280 into ‘coasting’ mode no matter what settings I use - not that I want or need it - just curious.

It’s a poor show this, just got off the phone to the dealer and they insist the reason for the ‘stop’ order has come from the factory but they claim the details as to why / what is as yet not disclosed - given the tendency for dealers to be economical with the truth I don’t know what to believe. Either way, whatever it is must be considered serious as to not let the vehicles out?

I’m in the same predicament, vehicle arrived 23 May and dealer been very quiet until today - can’t have delivery now until at least 25 June - no variable cruise on ours……

What was the build week - is it spec'ed exactly as you ordered 'cause there's been some changes to the interior build in recent weeks?

I just love the way main dealers always claim no knowledge of any negative concern, even well documented ones - and if you push it their go to response is ‘a characteristic of the vehicle, sir’. As for the option to speak to a so called ‘technician’, that option disappeared some 3 decades ago - can’t have anyone in customer facing situation - all face to face contact with disgruntled owners has to be carefully controlled / contained.

Since my prolonged visit at the dealer and subsequent new battery all my setting are messed up - one that I didn't know about previously is the automatic luggage cover retraction device - I assumed something was amiss when every time I opened the rear hatch the roller blind cover shot forward. I now find it's electrically released - how pointless is that? Whilst it can be disabled in the menu I'd much rather have had Skoda fit some low down luggage area lighting as the 2 lamps on the door are also somewhat pointless.

My first (driving for 50 years) speeding ticket, also 35, somewhere Humberside offered me the groupthink 'awareness course' - I declined, told 'em where to shove their course - cost me a little more in insurance but I got immense pleasure from writing that letter. 🤠

Menu - telephone - settings - phones (or something similar) - select and delete/forget. E&OE. 🤔

It’ll be interesting to see how this pans out and exactly what you have to pay Lee - keep us posted. Apparently there is confusion and seemingly no circumnavigation for the so called ‘luxury tax’ applied to cars - I’ve read that the higher rate applies even when on a SORN?

No - on my advice she didn’t add anything to the standard spec, the better dash and beige upholstery were two possibilities but both came wrapped in ridiculously expensive ‘packs’ - the seemingly now standard ‘traffic sign recognition’ would have been nice as in this stupid world we now live in the speed limits change all too often and I find the alerts in my Superb quite useful in places I don’t know too well.

My wife ordered a SE-L last November and was shortly after given a build week 21 - dealer contacted her this last Monday with news the car had been built week 16 and is expected in about a month - I can see why now, one of the last before the upgraded 24 models?

I used the same station for many, many years until they got a mot nazi on the team - he tried, but conceded defeat (couldn’t find the relevant section) when trying to fail my Golf for not having the plastic engine cover on!
