  1. It's as well as the engine cover - had mine done last week although nobody seemed to know exactly what or where this 'shield' was - the service desk guy blustered and bluffed his way through a word salad of an explanation when I asked if anything had been needed / changed / done.
  2. Here you go then - mounting points are exactly the same but they do grip a little better.
  3. Impossible to find a 2024 price list or service schedule. I was assured that the filter/gauze had been cleaned though I doubt it was too dirty inasmuch as (been ill) I've only done 3600 miles.
  4. New (left) and old engine covers.
  5. Been in today for 2nd service and 3 recall actions ……. ‘Oh, by the way’ says dealer, ‘you need a Haldex service, Škoda have reduced the 3 year interval to 2’. £144 🤨 We recommend a air-con service and brake fluid change - 🤬🤬🤬
  6. Ordered a new Karoq recently and the dealer asked me outright, do I really want the finance or am I intending to pay it off within a couple of days? Gave him the honest answer. He was fine with it, though my projected delivery keeps getting put back!
  7. Have you got them turned off in the 'menu'?
  8. Last week I arranged a service for later this month along with a replacement engine cover………dealer called me back 10 minutes later with news the job will take longer than expected because of ‘another’ Skoda update, he did say something about a heat mat but was very vague about where and why. i did check the .Gov site but no mention for my 2022 model. Well wait and see.
  9. I can't work out what I'm looking at?
  10. I know the weather is cold and damp but my 280 seems to emit steam vapour from the offside pipe for too long. I did a fast motorway run and vapour was still wafting out after 30 miles today - can't say it's done it previously - but then again I've not been looking. Should I be worried do you think? It wasn't doing it when I got home but the exhaust was well hot!
  11. I was in my local dealer showroom last week and they'd got a L&K Superb Estate in this colour with a beige interior - it looked wonderful - having had a Karoq with the beige trim I regret not having it again in my Superb - either way, you're a lucky guy, that colour is magic.

  13. Too true, the problem could surely be sorted quite simply - a software tweek - to remember the speed you've set on the ACC?
  14. ..…..and it works amazing quickly.
  15. The fancy high beam gizmo is great - dread to think how much it’ll cost to fix if it goes wrong out of warranty.
  16. I've got a 280 and never ever seen 'coasting'.........
  17. I don't know then - I thought accelerating for a little way was what I do - not easy to check as it only happens occasionally - I find the whole ACC thing a little unrefined, I appreciate the way it slows you down appropriately when entering lower speed limits but hate the way it sets off with great urgency when you leave a lower limit - if I go into a 30mph area with 45mph set I want to go back up to 45mph as I exit but as soon as the 60mph sign is recognised we are off, on our way to 60 in double quick time - why can't the system remember my set speed?
  18. I think I just accelerate in those circumstances........?
  19. I see one of the gripes about the Kamiq was the lack of physical fan control, looks to have been sorted but can the same be said for the latest 2 zone climate models? There is no info on the Kamiq site and my dealer can't / won't say either way. Anyone?
  20. Just been looking earlier at new Karoq specs myself and the instrument cluster available on the SEL is not at all clear in the brochure also.........
  21. My 2022 Superb will accelerate when I indicate and pull out - it seems respond fairly soon after pulling out and without checking it might even start before I've pulled out - I don't have the distance set to 'close', it has about 25 mtrs gap.
  22. That’s the long and short of it, hanging on a hook. The newer Kessy fobs aren’t at serious risk inasmuch as they, allegedly, have a motion sensor and close themselves down.
  23. Had a new Karoq in 2019 - the Kessy fob battery failed at 20 months. My Superb is almost 20 months old and the battery failed today. I'd have thought the new style 'motion sensing' fobs would last longer, especially given that the Superb hardly ever gets used and the fob hangs on a hook untouched? My Golf fob, now in its 14th year, has never had a battery replaced.
  24. Yes, I've a debadged 280 estate in white and I've noticed, especially on motorways, vehicles coming up at a pace and then suddenly tuck in behind me at a distance - takes me back to the late 80's when I had a 2.8 Granada in base dark blue with steel wheels, same thing used to happen.
  25. Yes Gabbo, both ACC and road sign recognition - so question answered, thanks. Curious I've never noticed before. However that throws up another query; I like the ACC but I don't want to be flying about at the maximum permissible speed limit, especially on 60mph trunk roads - I know (and do) knock it down 5 -10mph on the stalk but it's a continuous irritation as every time I exit a 30MPH zone the car is off like a rampant horse. Is there some way of limiting the speed without the need to knock it down manually every time?
