  1. 3 - 5 months, if the battery is still good I'll be very surprised.........mine can run down in just a month if locked.
  2. Can't help with your problem 'brygus' but this is the sort of problem you only find after living with the motor for a while. I wish I'd noticed on a test drive how poor the door mirrors are - not only do they not fold in sufficiently but they can't be tilted down enough to see adequately alongside. Add to which the expensive 'area view' becomes almost useless when in a tight spot, not that it's particularly good at the best of times.
  3. I hope you're not giving up on the Superb range are you ApertureS? Your knowledge and expertise in all things Superb would be greatly missed.........
  4. I still have the Skoda card mentioned above - £10.
  5. You don't really want that tacky cheap and nasty L&K badge on the wings do you? Mine were off and in the bin within 20 minutes of being delivered. The gear knob decal 'DSG 4x4' was quickly replaced too.
  6. I adapted the catch on our Karoq by trimming / filing to avert any potential ‘stuck’ at the petrol station scenario - by trimming the catch I was able to prise the flap open without causing damage but still locked sufficiently - doesn’t help you today but the Karoq forum highlighted the fact that many vehicles were suffering fuel flap solenoid failure.
  7. Thanks guys but there appeared to be something different in the latest models inasmuch as The only options I have are ‘Lane Assist’ off / on and ‘Steering Wheel Vibrate’ off / on - seemingly no further menu’s……….
  8. Not sure if ‘steering assist’ is the correct title - but, my Superb used to follow the road and complain if I let go of the wheel - the whole business irritated me and I somehow turned it off, how I don’t know. Messing with the settings yesterday I noticed all driver assist gizmos are switched ‘on’ but the semi ‘self steering’ is limited to wobbling the wheel and putting some resistance in the wheel if I try to cross a line without indicating. Is there a sub-menu somewhere I’m missing?
  9. I get that on my Golf occasionally, move into drive after starting up and nothing - move the selector back to neutral and into drive again - all OK. Like you say, never happens after stop-start. I'm living with it .
  10. Yep EC73LDN is correct - I forgot to disconnect my small cool box recently - next morning the battery was wiped out, nothing in it at all, so I can confirm there’s no inbuilt safety on a 2022 Superb.
  11. There’s a ‘default’ setting in VCDS for non codable batteries such as the Bosch I’m sure, certainly there’s a work-around……….
  12. Sudden battery voltage drop maybe? Should / could / might clear with short run.
  13. I suspect you’re right D402, however, thinking along the same lines I tried a 12” length of 1/2” hose on a funnel, still didn’t work! Be warned, don’t run out of fuel - getting an emergency supply in isn’t easy.
  14. Just tried to put my ‘spare’ 5 litre can of fuel in my 280 - something very strange about the filler pipe - using the standard plastic green container and nozzle the fuel just fills up the neck and spills out! And no, the tank is not full, it’s almost empty.
  15. I too, coming from a T5 van that I could place with a pin-point accuracy, find the Superb mirrors poor, even the 'area view' is not as good as I expected.
  16. I've not noticed it on my 2021 L&K but then again its not been cold - What I have noticed is the 'temp' gauge show almost normal 90c after travelling half a mile or so. I did try the heated screen whilst parked on the drive one frosty morning, excellent and speedy. None the old heated wire business - just all over defrosting in 30 seconds. I'm pretty sure my 12 year old Golf has got this electric heater - I only notice it on icy mornings - it provides warm (that is not so icy) air to the screen.........
  17. Foolishly, ever so slightly, brushed against a wooden gate post, paint on the rear bumper has just peeled off exposing the black plastic. I'm amazed how soft the Moon White paint is - days gone by such a incident would require a bit of T-Cut and job done.
  18. I agree, coincidence / bad luck. It happens.
  19. I’d have thought is a forgone conclusion that the 280 will be dropped - Skoda can’t be selling many as it is………
  20. I looked removing mine - changing it for something more suitable for coins etc but figured it was gonna be big job.........
  21. It’d be nice if the ‘elves’ in China could develop the device one step further and have it turn on/off via the insertion of the usb cable…
  22. The charger is illuminated all the time yes/no - what sort of drain does it put on the battery? I'm thinking 2 weeks parked up at the airport scenario.........
  23. I've recently traded a 2019 Karoq with tyres featuring a nice kerb rubbing strip which gave me a extra confidence when near the kerb - however, its replacement, a Superb, has tyres that appear slightly narrower than the wheels thus making me very nervous and slightly over-cautious when park at the kerb.
  24. Does anyone know how to access info about the Columbus sat nav / gps system on a 2022 Superb, specifically how many satellites are locked in? Mine is playing up, it gets out of its comfort zone whenever I come to a busy / complicated junction , will often go 'off road' - despite the vehicle being on the only road for miles - but even more frustrating is its tendency to pick a random part of the country (or sea) and go hunting for a road to lock onto for a few moments. This randomness can last for 1 or 2 miles up to 50 when it will suddenly snap out of it and behave relatively normal. I'm reluctant to take it in inasmuch as I can't be sure it'll mis-behave on cue.
  25. Nice work Frankenfurter - yours is the 1st post I’ve read criticising the useless Superb ‘phone storage - I couldn’t believe how awkward and tight the oem facility proved to be. I’ve opted for a USB charger in the arm rest box fed from a ignition switched source on the fuse box with Apple Play via Bluetooth………
