Interior light.
It’s one of life’s great mysteries.......a truly backward step by VAG.

Hazard Lights
I'd lock it a second time to disable the alarm system and see if it still misbehaves...........

Trouble auto locking car
Back of the hand works best for me........

New Karoq, first impressions and comparison
Our 2019 SEL has the puddle lights and the SKODA lights - pity the red door markers don’t light up.......

1200 mile Covid Service
Been in to main dealer this morning for 2nd annual service, 1200 miles since last March, 7000 in total. No complimentary vacuum, no complimentary wash, no complimentary coffee, no complimentary biscuits, no complimentary air freshener hanging from the mirror and, best of all, no discount....... .....and just for good measure, I've got to wait on a call and return sometime in the future for a replacement steering wheel ribbon connector, currently on 'back-order' with Skoda. Nice.

Mood Lighting
Out last night and noticed the coloured mood lighting that runs along the front door cards and across the dash is not as I remembered it. It might be just me having a senior moment but I'm sure the 2 short lines under the instrument bezels used to be illuminated whilst driving, now they fade out when the engine starts. Perhaps it's always done that, anyone?

Cleaning touchscreen
Hmmm.......I wonder, did they really do PDI, have those front offside wheel bolts been checked, is the brake fluid level correct and the cap back on.........etc, etc?

New SE L boot rattle
Both components, the one fastened to the bodywork and the one held by the small Torx bolt have ridges in ‘em that ‘lock’ into each other to help secure firmly - it’ll be obvious when you slacken off. However, as someone previously mentioned, be sure to note where it is now, that is, how many groves/ridges are visible before you start.

New SE L boot rattle
Making heavy weather of this guys........just pull the cover off with your fingers from the top and adjust as required......

Flat battery and engine warning light
I've had this before on my Golf, it persisted for a few days. I'm not sure if it was the passage of time else the half dozen or so start-ups / runs that fixed it, but either way, it went off.

keyfob battery failing with *no* warning
Alas my key won’t fit as I have a rubber ‘sock’ on the key after dropping and busting a VW one some years ago, the price for replacement was quite eye watering at the time.
-
keyfob battery failing with *no* warning
I sometimes get that too despite the battery being reasonably new - got to be a problem for most, that dilemma of where to put the key whilst in the car - I tend to favour the centre armrest box but it often rattles in there - I suppose my pocket would be best but its such a chunky fob, I'm not comfortable with it in my trouser pocket........

Steering wheel creaking/grinding noise
Ours does this too - like your dad, I don’t want the lower dash area molested, it could bring on lots of heartache later. As for the noise, I’d say more of a ‘creak’, perhaps rubber components rubbing / catching? I’d like to be rid of the sound but, to be fair, the conditions have to all be right for me to experience it and I dare bet any Skoda technician won’t be able to hear it anyway?

DSG Paddle after purchase
Yep, all too often I find myself ‘flashing’ the car in front whilst trying to set the ACC......

Road Noise
I'll tell you what really does need a dose of soundproofing in my Karoq, the windscreen wiper motor, noisiest wiper motor I've ever had in a vehicle. Anyone else noticed their wiper motor noise?

Plastic film on the side mirrors
In the early 60’s our dad bought a 1959 Ford Consul, the first owner hadn’t taken the plastic wrappers off the seats so dad left ‘em on......what fun it was - not.

Who knew? Reversing camera wash.
Like the headlights after a 'wash' the camera still needs a wipe over. The VW system is better inasmuch as the camera has its own shed and only come out when needed.

Never been happy with these tyres.....

New Karoq battery issue
Ah, I see, thanks.

New Karoq battery issue
Can you clarify exactly what you’ve done here ab, you say it’s permanently plugged into the cigarette lighter but you also say the bottom one (13.8v ?) is the one you’ve settled on yet it appears to be a panel mount device.........Are you saying the bottom device is wired into the cigarette lighter circuit permanently?

keyfob battery failing with *no* warning
The ‘no warning’ phenomena struck me today, drove 15 miles to the market, tried to lock, nothing, checked all doors were closed and ignition off and I just knew..........thought I might have got 2 years rather than just 20 months. 4 new Duracell 2025’s sitting in the kitchen table drawer didn’t go down well with the good lady. No worries though, the secret lock and the emergency start-up option worked well.

Heavy condensation on inside of windows
I very much doubt the heavy rain managed to get pass the door seals - I don’t have any theory as to why you might have so much moisture but, to be fair, every now and again I encounter surprising amounts of condensation on the inside Windows, especially when parked in the sun at this of the year - It’s a bugger to remove effectively and smears the glass so last winter I invested in a couple of large (1kg) dehumidifier bags (as mentioned above by SurreyJohn) and they’ve worked a treat. I can’t post a link but I got mine off eBay, item number 383755159065.

Removing rear seats (non VF), anyone done it?
I think you have to take it by surprise, so to speak......To be fair the Flex seats in the SEL had me scratching my head for a few months - I genuinely thought they were faulty / stuck.

Removing rear seats (non VF), anyone done it?
Looks straightforward enough - at least the first action does.......
